So much fun!

Creative, engaging and fun for children

As a grandparent, I'm always looking for creative activities that will keep my grandchildren engaged and entertained, while also fostering their love of learning and creativity. That's why I was so excited to try out the Creativity for Kids Sticker Suncatcher Kit based on "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book by Eric Carle, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! The kit comes with everything you need to create 7 sun catchers inspired by scenes from the classic children's book, including colorful translucent stickers, window clings, and even puffy stickers for added texture. What's great about this activity is that it requires no glue and creates no mess, making it perfect for travel, quiet-time, or independent play. We had so much fun! The directions didn't specify which side to use, which was semi relevant but not a higher detriment to do it the wrong direction. All three of the grandkids (3, 7, and 8.5) had fun, though the three-year-old wanted to put most of the stickers in a single pile rather than spread out. We ended up with extra stickers because they were so excited to hang them up. My grandchildren had a blast layering the stickers onto the themed suncatchers and creating their own unique designs. Once they were finished, we hung them up in our sunny window and were amazed at how they transformed our living space into a page from the beloved Eric Carle book. The kit also includes suction cups to easily attach the suncatchers to the window. What I love most about this activity is how it encourages fine motor skills, color and shape recognition, and imagination in a fun and engaging way. Plus, as a fan of Eric Carle's work, I appreciate how the kit allows my grandchildren to engage with the story and create their own playscape using the colorful window clings. Overall, I highly recommend the Creativity for Kids Sticker Suncatcher Kit as a creative and educational activity for toddlers. It's the perfect gift for young children and a great way to foster a love of creativity and learning in very hungry young minds!

fun project for 5 or 6 year olds

This kit includes everything you need to make suncatchers, including the suction cups, stickers, and pre-cut outlines of the caterpillar and other images. Everything is well-made and sturdy, and the suction cup we tried has been holding so far. The colors are bright and look cool in pretty much any combination. However, the stickers used to make the colors on the suncatcher are small and very hard for chubby little fingers to pick up and place on the suncatcher. Pre-K kids will probably need some help from an adult and might get frustrated. The box does state that it helps kids practice their manual dexterity, and that's true, but I think kids who are 5 or 6 will enjoy it the most. Older than that and they might find the tie-in to a "little kids" book unappealing.

FUN FUN!

VERY Fun an cute to make. The stained-glass aspect of these make it almost impossible to mess up for kids! I used these along with the story for 4 year old preschoolers. They loved the colors and being able to hang them up at the end to admire. Fun craft and would make a good gift for 4-6 year olds.

What's Not to Love?

I love the Very Hungry Caterpillar & Eric Carle's art style, so this was a great find. Easy to use, and thoughtfully packaged with suction cups to hang the suncatchers right away after they are made. I know that some people think older kids wouldn't be interested, and maybe it would be a disappointing Christmas gift but even the older kids wanted to participate when they saw what the littles were making. There were enough sun catches to make that everyone was able to make their own piece of art. The extra window stickers added a whole other layer of fun to decorating the space once the suncatchers were finished.

Fun activity

I got this for my daughter’s 5th birthday and she loves it! You put the stickers on the sun catcher and it’s that simple. Also I especially love it because there is no mess!

This review is for “Creativity for Kids The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Sticker Suncatcher Kit - DIY Window Stickers for Toddlers from The World of Eric Carle, Preschool Arts and Crafts for Kids Ages 3-5+.” The kit arrived in a retail-style cardboard box. The contents were packaged in plastic bags that were securely taped to a piece of white cardboard inside the box. The suncatchers additionally were separated by small pieces of tissue paper. This kit really exceeded my expectations. I was able to involve 3 kiddos in this craft, DD9, DS6, and DS4. We all had fun layering the translucent colored stickers on the sun-catchers. The effect created by the stickers was really neat and very similar to Eric Carle’s books’ illustrations. The included puffy stickers helped add even more dimension and character to the different sun-catchers. The included window clings were a nice bonus that DS6 enjoyed putting on the window. The suction cup hooks seem to hold the smaller food sun-catchers without a problem but for the 2 large sun-catchers (caterpillar and butterfly) I would advise cleaning the glass and moistening the suction cup to achieve maximum adhesion. 5 stars

My daughter loves it!

My daughter really loved doing these projects! There were enough stickers that she was able to complete all of the suncatchers and still have some left over. The stickers and suncatchers are packaged in baggies that are taped to a piece of cardboard, so there is very little chance of anything getting bent or damaged in shipping. The addition of the puffy stickers and the window clings are pure genius. She really enjoyed having the puffy sticker caterpillars "eating" the fruits and ice cream, then she used the window clings to make a whole landscape. She also discovered that you can carefully remove the suncatchers from the suction hooks and trace them like stencils to make her own creations in her notebook. I'm very pleased; it's an excellent product.
