Fun but messy

Fun introduction to pottery

Got this for my five year old for christmas as he wanted one. You will need to buy 4 'C' batteries to operate it - I overlooked that so we got the batteries today and we got it going. This is very messy - as to be expected though! You will need a container of water as the water really helps with the clay on the wheel so you can mold it easier. It only has one speed, which is fairly fast. I have no idea if real pottery wheels have speeds or not but at times it felt a bit too fast. My five year old LOVED it and we had a lot of fun. The pots we made are currently drying awaiting painting and decoration. I'm not sure how many more uses this will get, but it is a good taster of what it is like to use a pottery wheel and both of us are inspired to now find a class. The pots you make with this don't get fired (not sure if you can still fire them if you want to? I don't know enough about the clay), so it states that they are not for use with food etc - just decorative. I would love for him to be able to use this and them get the work fired afterwards so that it is usable. The wheel works well. It comes with some tools you can use to put patterns on the clay. The foot pedal is good and we used that as it was good having the option to stop if you needed to fix the pot on the wheel. It comes with paints and a glitter glue pen and some decorative gem stickers - we are yet to use them. We made three small pots. This is fairly cheap and so I think its worth the buy. It's good for practicing on the wheel for adults too! I enjoyed having a go.

Family Fun!!

Family fun!! I would have given it five stars but you can't use the actual clay device. We just made the clay pieces with our hands. I still think it's a good clay set for the price. My daughter and I had fun created clay pieces. It did take a couple of days to completely dry. My daughters clay creation cracked but I just glued it back together.

Cute but NOISY

This is a cute pottery wheel that people of all ages will enjoy if they don't mind noise. It comes with a basic set of paints, sparkles and plastic tools. The clay that comes with it is easy to use and clean up. We purchased this to see if our household would enjoy playing with pottery. As soon as we turned it on, I knew that I wanted to buy a better one. This one is noisy as can be. Actually noisy is an understatement. You can hear this pottery wheel over rock music through headphones. If you want fun for your kid, this could be a great toy. If you want quiet crafting, you definitely want to get a different pottery wheel.

Ok so I was debating on getting this pottery wheel or a better more expensive one. I decided to try this one since I was like under 20 bucks, I love it it makes great pottery! I am 13 and I made a really cool pot with this set! I read some reviews to see if it was good and I have to tell u, some of them let me down. The people we saying it was really loud. Well yeah it’s loud but there isn’t gonna be a wheel that’s not loud unless you buy a 500$ one. I thought this wheel was great for starters I can make a lot of stuff with it! I thought it was cool that it came with paint and decorations! Any way if u want a pottery wheel that’s low price and works great you should pick this one! ????????????

First, I must mention that I bought this through Amazon originally, but it was missing the part that actually makes it spin deeming it useless. Tried to get them to send the missing part, but they refused and said the best they could do is refund after I return it. Such a pain. So, I decided not to order it through Amazon again and instead bought it from Target. This time, it was a complete set. Now, about the product, it was just okay. It certainly doesn't mold very well on the wheel. It's firm so it works for forming in your hand, but doesn't really have much give on the wheel. My daughter thought it was okay, but wouldn't buy again.

Crear vasijas de barro

Excelente. La compré para utilizarla con los niños de la Iglesia. Enseñándole que somos barro en las manos del Alfarero. Pasaron por el proceso de crear sus propias vasijas de barro. Lo recomiendo. Muy útil.

Broke Immediately

It was nine ninety nine. I thought - hey that’s a great price and a reputable company, why not? You get what you pay for. I bought two for both my kids. One worked for a day. The other broke immediately- brand new out of the box, after buying the two packs of batteries that doesn’t come with them and putting them in. Makes a horrible grinding gears sound like it’s going to break and catch fire, but doesn’t turn or move the table at all. The other one worked for almost a couple hours (not nonstop), but then it started to lose power (brand new), and if you put ANY PRESSURE on it, it would come to a halt. How are you supposed to MOLD clay without touching it??? Ha ha ha! But they enjoyed the paints and decorations so I guess it was worth a one time $10 something… good enough. But absolutely WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN. WOULD NOT GIFT. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Find something else on here to try… good luck to your little artists!!!
