Great quality, but TIGHT!

We have several TYR products in our family including shorts and goggles, and they are all excellent quality. These swim shorts are no exception; they are expertly constructed and have a drawstring to get a perfect fit. These are designed to be tight and minimize drag in the water. If your kid swims competitively and you're looking for performance swimwear then these are top quality trunks. If you're looking for a more relaxed fit for more casual swimming then you'll want to look for a different style. I ordered a size 24 for my 9 year old son based on measuring his waist, and that should equate to a size M (8/10) which is his usual size, but he can barely squeeze into these so I would definitely size up if your child is between sizes. In retrospect I would have ordered the L.

Run tight

Got this swimsuit for my skinny 9-year old. Good quality, but super tight, so be careful picking a size, might need to size up. Expensive.

Bright blues, great quality material

With four sons on the swim team, I see a lot of swim suits come through the house. TYR is my favorite brand because their materials tend to be more durable and retain the bright colors and sag free finish for longer. Love this new Durafast material - extra thick, compressive type snug fit, and very bright shades. It’s so nice to see patterns that aren’t all solid colors with just a bit of color spliced in. On a related note, these all over prints are much nicer for the kiddos that hate all the extra seams against their skin. Size wise this fits a bit snugger than some other materials, so unless your child likes a really tight fit might be worth sizing up if they are almost between sizes.

Good fit and fully lined

My son has been using the same jammers for years. It was time to buy a new one so we tried the TYR brand knowing it sells many swim related products. The size 24 fits my size 6 child well. He says they feel like his old ones. What I immediately noticed is the better quality. His old one only has lining around the groin area whereas this Durafast Elite is fully like front and back. I expect they will hold up for the full swim season and more. The color and pattern are fine though my son would prefer a solid color rather than this space dye style.

I love TYR

I love this swimsuit. My boys are in competitive swimming and TYR never fails! The suit holds up well and is made very well. It is thicker than cheaper jammers and feels like quality material. I love everything TYR makes!

Nice and tight

Size 24 fits nice and tight on a small 9 year old. So I’d say that size 24 is good for approximately ages 7 to 9. The purple camo color is really fun. I adjusted the color balance on this photo to accurately represent the color. The tag on the back which shows the size and material is uncomfortable so the first thing we did is to cut that off with scissors. Overall a great swimsuit for high performance swimming.

Great quality

My 8 year old son just started club swim and needs jammers. It's hard for us to find a good size because he is about average/above average height but very slim. These jammers for him well. He says they are his favorite so far. They are comfortable to wear. High quality with a draw string to tighten. They go to mid thigh. I would definitely recommend.
