good solid metal frame

this is solid silver frame for your precious photo. silver metal with bead pattern. the back is high quality wood material. the material is shiny and first class. when you hold this frame, it says high cost. however, from a distance, you can get similar frame aesthetics from cheaper plastic frames. how does this frame compete against technology? there are digital frames that are slightly more expensive than this frame. digital frames rotate your digital photos. technology vs old school silver metal frame. which is better? I think there is place for both. sometimes you want a nice silver frame to put your dearest photo in. it is a toss up between my wife or my cat. but either photo will show well in this fancy silver frame.

Very pretty

This is a very nice frame. The problem I had with it was that it shows every bit of dust and fingerprints. It's not corroded, it just has to be polished pretty frequently. Otherwise, has a very nice classic look that will lend itself well to most decor and styles.

Beautiful

I've never bought a fancy picture frame before so wasn't sure what to expect with this. It's packaged very nicely, very giftable. The frame itself is beautiful. It just oozes quality, and not just the front, the back part has beautiful wood as well. Very impressive and I've gotten several compliments on it. Great product.

An Heirloom Gift

Reed & Barton has been making sterling silver dinnerware, serving pieces, and picture frames for nearly 200 years. This frame is beautiful, with its polished silver finish. The composite back is held in place with a single silver clip that swings aside to allow easy change of picture. It arrived elegantly presented in a gift box and would make a fine heirloom gift for a new bride or for grandma to keep a special photo.

Well made with shiny silver-plate. Solid back with a hanging hook and a pull-out stand.

Reed and Barton products are usually high quality and this frame is no exception. The front of the frame is very shiny silver plated. The detail in the ornamentation around the frame is very nice and very evenly done. The back side is a hard material. I'm not sure if it is plastic or some sort of pressed paper/wood product, but it holds a picture tightly in place. The top of the back has a small hook at the top that folds down to be invisible from the front when using the swing out tripod stand. If, instead, you choose to hang the frame, the swing out tripod stand, lays very flat against the back of the frame. I don't know if the silver-plating is coated with anything to keep it from tarnishing. If not, that means the frame will need frequent polishing, as is the case with any unprotected silver. Overall, this is a very pretty and very well made frame.

Wedding photo approved!

This has to be one of the nicest frames I have, aside from the huge Disney frame we picked up on our honeymoon... but they are two different types, one is porcelain and this one is silver. We were using a very cheap frame for our wedding photo and this is a fantastic upgrade. It's significantly heavier and more sturdy. The sides have been easy to polish so far and shines brilliantly.

Reed and Barton Mia 5x7 silver-plated "Mia" picture frame

This Reed and Barton Frame in the "Mia" style is sturdy and well-made, and the design and the silver plate finish is attractive. It will fit any standard size 5x7 photo or picture, but it does not come with a paper mat to prevent direct contact of the picture with the glass. Also, It will need to be polished like any other silver or silver-plated item when it tarnishes. It comes in a nice box, and would be suitable as a gift.

Elegant frame

This is a really nice picture frame I got it for my parents 50th anniversary and wow they loved the Frame with the picture of them from their first wedding date.
