Quality Product

I've had two of these jump ropes. The first two had more of a rope-like cord. This new one has a rubber-like cord. The first rope wore out and broke where it hits the floor. I called Pro Weight for a replacement rope but was told they were not available so I had to buy a second one. For the second rope, I put a couple of wraps of duct tape in the middle to prevent it from breaking and it worked. The reason I bought the third rope was because the handles gave out on the second rope. The caps became loose and the weights inside clicked a lot. This is why I didn't put a durability rating on this new rope because I'm not sure how well both the plastic rope or new handles will wear. It does seem to be a quality product, however. I bought a third rope because I like the weighted handles. However, the new rope, even thought it said each handle weighed 1/2 pound, was lighter than the handles of the first and second rope so I took the weights from the second rope out and put them into the new rope's handles. Lastly, the third rope has a "protection" coil that settles in the middle of the rope. I think it's there to protect the rope from wearing and breaking over time. But, I find that not only can I not successfully jump with the protective coil in place, the dang coil makes a lot of unnecessary noise every time it touches the ground! So, I slid the coil up next to the handle and tape it there so it wouldn't slid down the rope. But, just to be safe, I put a few wraps of duct tape around the center of the rope like I did on the last one to prevent it from wearing out over time. Because of the material from which this new rope is made (plastic or rubber) it took a little longer for it to relax. In fact, I had to hang it from a rod for a couple of days for it to loose its kinks. After all that, I do like this jump rope.

Solid construction, but some caveats

First, the good things: It's got the weight, it's got the advertised length and (surprise!) you can jump with it. Length adjustment, for those of us who aren't 6' or taller, is easy and intuitive and the handles are comfortable and easy to grip. I have to mention one or two things that make me cut a star. First, the cord protector - it breaks quickly. I used this jumprope on asphalt after I bought it and the cord protector began to break apart almost immediately. It's a simple coiled plastic job, and it's not going to be around to protect my jumprope for much longer since I use it three times a week. Durability would probably be better on prepared rubberized surfaces, a dirt track or astroturf, but I don't have any of those available to me. Second, adjustment is permanent - just in case it isn't clear - and the only kit they provide for it uses these two brass fittings that come with it in a tiny plastic baggie. Don't lose that baggie! Adjust ASAP. Despite losing my own I was able to perform the adjustment by driving a finishing nail through the rubber and bending it double, followed by trimming excess length off the nail with a wire cutter, but that option won't be available to everybody.

I have to say that jumping rope truly is a great way to get a nice work out in ,in a short amount of time and if your are involved in any kind of sporting activites like my self (Martial Arts) it also enhances your timing ,foot speed, endurance ,and overall balance, which will benefit any athlete. I have purchased many more expensive ropes in the past but for some reason I always find my self going back to this model. Besides the fact it holds up pretty well in all conditions(I jope rope outdoors on concrete often) it has weighted handles that can be removed if you want and the handles have just the right amt. of foam to be comfortable..also the rope moves well and even though this is the third time I have purchased this actual rope the ballbearing system has never failed on me even under heavy usage.For the price this is a great rope, that will give you a ton of workouts for a low price.

Very pleased with product and shipping

First, allow me to comment on the shipping. I ordered on 8/15 and received shipping confirmation 5 hours later. I had my item delivered on 8/18. I didn't realize with the free shipping the seller offered that it would be priority 2 day. I was completely surprised, but also very pleased. The product itself is amazing. It has just enough weight to give you a great workout but it's not enough to tire you too easily. The rope is very easy to shorten, if needed. I didn't have to shorten mine too much but it took all of 2 minutes to do so. I have absolutely no complaints or issues with the jump rope or the seller. I am looking forward to purchasing additional products in the future and have already recommended this product to 2 friends. Thank you, allpro!

What is the point of the white platic spirals on the rope? They broke into pieces during its first use. It would have been better to not include it.

Endurance Rope

All in all a decent rope for those looking to add weight. The 1/2 lb is a total weight (i.e. 1/4 lb per handle). I think that is too light and would like the option to buy incremental increases in weight, but I had two 1/2 lb inserts from a previous weighted rope that fit in these handles. I think the plastic rope protector will reduce the wear and tear on the actual rope as it hits the ground, but my last weighted jump rope broke when I dropped a handle and it split near the top.

works great no big problems.

The notepad spiral is great for protecting the rope but has broken into a lot of little pieces and is kinda loud on gym floors, but no big issue. One side of the handles lost a clip from the inside that allowed the rope to fall out, I was able to get a washer around it and put it back inside the handle. I have not had any problems with it since. No real wear issues, but I imagine if one of the handles is dropped from anything higher than hip height it could shatter the brittle plastic caps?

Very Satisfied

I'm 6'2'' and this works great for me. The weights in the handles really add to the workout. The white plastic piece that rotates is nice to have as well, although that part is starting to break. I reinforced it with duct-tape and it should stay as one piece now. Overall, it seems to be a great jump rope... the bearings rotate well. I've used it at least 6 times since I got it a week and a half ago.
