Great Over All
Not too happy with the price but much needed for milkshakes. Other once are either too big or too small.

Except for the gray lid, it’s perfect.
I was thrilled when Costco had a Vitamix with the low profile 64oz jar and, and the smoothie cup attachment. I primarily use my blender for soups and sauces, and I definitely needed that big jar. 8 months passed, and my teenager suddenly discovered protein smoothie bowls. The 64oz jar was way too big, but the small smoothie cup was too small and couldn’t handle the thick consistency. The 32oz jar is perfect except for two things: it doesn’t come with a tamper, and the jar lid is gray, which looks a little odd on my glossy black blender, on the counter with my other black small appliances. The former is remedied with another $17 purchase and the latter is just something I need to get over apparently.

The Vitamix 32-ounce container is perfect for single servings!
I have a Vitamix Explorian Series E320 that came with a low-profile 64-ounce container. This is great for large families or people who want to make big batches. However, without much experimentation, it's a little difficult to eyeball how many ingredients are needed to make a single-serving size in this particular container. Sometimes I just want to make a quick 16-ounce smoothie, and I found myself being too generous with the ingredients and making a 32-ounce smoothie instead! This is why I did my research and purchased the 32-ounce container ($128.95) with a mini-tamper ($10.08). When the 32-ounce container arrived, I switched it out with the 64-ounce container and placed it on the Vitamix blender. It was considerably smaller. Also, the original tamper that came with the Vitamix would totally hit the blades of the smaller container, so definitely make the wise purchase of the mini-tamper as well. Another difference I noticed is that the blades are longer in the 64-ounce container verses the 32-ounce container. I was worried that it wouldn't blend as well.. During my experimentation with the smaller container, I found it was a lot easier to eyeball how many ingredients were needed to make a single-serving. My first smoothie was a perfect 16-ounces (half of the container). It blended flawlessly with the help of the mini-tamper to push the ingredients down into the blade. My worries were eliminated of the blades not performing up to par with the larger ones in the 64-ounce container. Afterwards, I rinsed the container out, filled it halfway with water, added a drop of soap, blended on high for a minute, and the container, lid, and tamper washed itself. The Vitamix functioned as intended even with the smaller container. If you find yourself wanting to make smaller portions in your Vitamix, just drop the money and purchase the 32-ounce container and the mini-tamper. It will save water consumption for cleaning over time, and it's a lot easier to determine the size and quantity of your end product. It can also be used to make enough for a 2nd person. I have stored the 64-ounce container and low-profile tamper in my cupboard for occasions when I want to use the Vitamix for more than 2 people at a time.

Quality
After 16 years with my Vitamix with the original carafe it was time for a new carafe and lid. It’s perfect! Looking at + more years of great blending.

Warning -- Not for Older Vitamix Total Nutrition Center, but there's an upside.
I received this from Amazon a few hours ago. I washed it out and loaded it with fruit and veggies to make a smoothie. I placed it on my Vitamix Total Nutrition Center base and started it up. Within seconds, smoke and burned rubber were flying out from the space where the base meets the container. The drive shaft from the base has a large rubber flange surrounding the drive gear, and that rubber flange is a little too big to fit in the space at the base of the container. So why did I give it five stars? Read on. After I wrote the preceding text, I called Vitamix, and they were very helpful. The problem is that my Vitamix is from 1993 (model VM0103), and the drive shaft design has changed just enough that I had this problem. (This tells you something about the durability of the machine.) They offered to send me a suitable replacement drive shaft for free, and they also said I could get a new Vitamix 7500 for $229 if I trade in my old base. It's brand new, overstock of a special run for QVC, in a color that didn't sell too well. Considering that the 7500 normally sells for over $500, even on Amazon, it's too good a deal to pass up. Without the trade-in it would be $329, still a good deal for a 7500. If you call Vitamix, I'm sure you can find out about similar deals (I'm writing this on 5/24/16). Bottom line: if you have a very old model Vitamix, check with the company to see if this container is compatible. If it's not, either replace the drive shaft or get a new base. I have only good things to say about Vitamix. Great company. Great products. Great service

Perfect size for my needs
A 32oz. container is perfect for sauces and smoothies. I really never needed a large one but wanted the Vitamix power. I wish it came with a different rubber base for the blender because this container sits just inside and is a bit loose because of this it would be easy to bump it or have it move while the blender is on causing damage. I added rubber bans to my base to secure the container better and I am very careful when it's on.

Not returnable and way too expensive
One thing all buyers should know is this is NOT returnable. If you change your mind about this incredibly expensive container, you’re stuck with it. Mine arrived with a big scratch and Amazon did offer me a fair discount, but I didn’t have the option of returning and replacing with an unscratched container. As for the equipment itself I wasn’t that impressed. It works but I’m not a fan of the weird open top of the handle - it looks cheap and hard to keep clean. And no tamper?! At this price I really don’t get it. Once you include the cost of the tamper, you might as well just go with the stainless steel version

Perfect size
I’ve owned the 64oz jar for a few years and have been wanting a smaller jar for smaller jobs such as hummus, guacamole and smaller smoothies (especially nice cream!!). This jar is perfect for all of that. Only docked one star for price because I think these jars are a little overpriced, but they are worth it and customer service in the event of a damaged jar is always fantastic. Will stick with vitamix forever :)

Expensive but really good
I was a skeptic about the whole Vitamix thing. I mean, $500 for a blender? I decided I wanted to try it, on a healthy eating kick... So I bought one at Costco since they have an amazing return policy in the likely case I’d want to return it and get my half-grand back. Anyway, the blender itself is amazing. It’s so crazy powerful, it chews through anything you put into it. It doesn’t get air locked nearly as much as cheaper blenders (you know, when that annoying air pocket forms around the blade and you have to turn it off and smush everything down?), and it comes with a tamper if that does happen (which it does for thicker smoothies and recipes, just not very often). Anyway, this review is for this mini version of the larger blender jug that come with the Vitamix. I wanted it to be able to make small batches of salad dressings and smaller batches of smoothies. For these it works well - it allows you to blend smaller amounts and it’s just as fast and powerful as the larger one. I would say that it doesn’t churn the food downwards as effectively as the larger jug. Perhaps this is my recipes, but it seems to leave more bits on the sides than the other jug which sucks most everything into its crazy vortex. I should qualify this and say that this is a very minor complaint. Overall the small jug does exactly what I wanted it for. The only other downside to this version is that it doesn’t come with a mini-tamper. For the crazy expensive prices that Vitamix charges for this piece of plastic, the least they could do is include the simple black plastic thingamabob that probably costs them less than a buck to make, package and ship. The last downside to this is the cost. Was I crazy to buy a $500 blender only to buy a $162.85 accessory for it? Absolutely. Nobody should spend this much on something like this. But it is exactly the thing, and the only real alternative (if you want the absolute best) is to buy a Blendtec at about the same cost. I can’t complain about the cost, but I can admit that it’s stupidly high for what it is.

Good jug but no tamper.
It's what I would expect from a vitamix blending container. I was surprised that there was no tamper in the box. All vitamix jugs are supposed to come with a corresponding tamper. The manual that came with it even showed a tamper included. Not sure if this is a one off or if they're all like this and that's why the price is reduced?

Great! A much better option than the personal cup adapter
I made a big mistake and bought the personal cup adapter. I should have bought this instead, so I did. It's much smaller than the giant 64 ounce and is perfect for smoothies, even for one person. it cleans just like the big one, and is super simple to use. I still think it is way over-priced, but it works.
