Great taste, lots of hulls
If you love popcorn, you should try this, it tastes delicious! BUT the hulls are a pain! There's so many! After popping a bowl full, you can literally rub some of the hulls off a kernel before popping into your mouth- you practically have to cause there's so many. The popcorn is big and fluffy and so are the hulls.

OK, but nothing special
I like popcorn. I gave mushroom popcorn a try in hopes of obtaining substantially larger pieces after popping. For the most part the mushroom popcorn kernels produce large, nicely firm pieces. The positives are offset by more and larger husks. Oddly, it takes 3/4 cup of mushroom kernels to produce the volume of popped corn that I get from 2/3 cup of butterfly kernels. Popping the corn is not rocket science. I put 3 tbs of olive in a 4 qt pot, heat the oil on high until 4 kernels pop, then dump in 3/4 cup of kernels. I swirl the pot a little to get the kernels spread out, cover the pot, and take t off the heat, counting to 30 slowly. With all the kernels sizzling, the pot goes back on high heat. Soon the corn will be popping vigorously. I shake the pot because all of the popcorn wizards say you are supposed to keep the stuff moving. When the popping slows to only a pop every 2 or more seconds, I take it off the heat and dump the popcorn in a waiting container. Notwithstanding the larger sized pieces, I will probably buy Reddenbacker next time.

Great popcorn
I absolutely love "mushroom" popcorn. My wife is not a fan. With this type of popcorn, the kernels seem to stick to the entire thing and that bugs my wife. The brand doesn't matter. I just pick them off.

NEEDS INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!
So I originally gave this a low rating but changing it now to 4 stars. It is not getting 5 stars because there are no instructions anywhere (even on the item page) that tells you how to make it pop "right." So as a few people have said, the oil needs to be hot (400F-ish) BEFORE you add the popcorn into it. Then you get beautiful, fluffy, mushroom popcorn. The close-up picture shows what happens if you do it right. These guys need to talk to their marketing department.

Love these round treats
Remembered this shape from when I was a kid. Commonly mixed in with other butterfly shapes. Missed these big round treats. Mixing with regular kernels but would be good for candy/chocolate covering or stringing!

Almost all the kernels pop.
This is a very good brand of popcorn. I cook on a gas stove and have less than 5-15 unpeopled.

Disappointed. Tastes good and nice size pieces. But ZERO mushroom head popcorn pieces so far
Pops well. Taste is very good and nice size pieces. But after several batches popped so far, we have NOT even seen ONE piece of mushroom popcorn. We know it's not an exact science but would think a product marketed and priced as gourmet mushroom popcorn would at least have some mushroom pieces? Packaging labels also looked very cheap and were applied crooked. The top seal wasn't even completely sealed properly. Taste was good so don't be afraid to try it out for yourself. Hopefully you'll have better luck than us, but we probably would not buy this again unless price was cheaper.
