Beautiful Bowls

First, if you buy these soup or salad bowls, you need the large pasta bowl that matches them in the same pattern. The dessert plates are also gorgeous. These soup/salad bowls are very different. They are shallow but large around. Make a big salad. Substantial looking. The design of the large pasta bowl is so pretty. I used one of my three as the inside of a homemade solar water fountain. Its very pretty. I use the large pasta bowl for fruits and vegetables and the colors make the bowl look beautiful. If you like Mexican cuisine or primary colors you will love these colors. The large bowl, the salad/ soup bowl and the dessert plates are all great gifts. The pasta bowl is about $28 to date, the other two items are more expensive. Also, I would not consider any of these items microwaveable, accept for a short warmup. I think the four soup/salad bowls were in the $40s and the four dessert plates were also in the $40s. Certified International has good items but you have to treat them w care since most or all are ceramic and could break w/o due care. I would recomend these items to help bring some color into your home. I love using all mine, though they need some special care. They are however okay in the dishwasher. Hope this helps.

Very Colorful

I have bought this brand and these bowls themselves before. Once they get a crack they overheat in the microwave so this time I am not going to use them in the microwave at all.

Smaller size!

I have bought this set of bowls twice - once in 2017 and again now, in March 2022. The bowls served me well for about five years. More recently, I noticed chipping along the edges, but then they are my everyday dishes, so, no big deal. I went ahead and purchased a new set. Note that the original bowls were 9.5" in diameter. The new ones I received are 9" (not 9.25" as stated in the product description). That's not a deal-breaker for me, but I prefer the 9.5" sizing. Caveat emptor!

UPDATE: Quality not the same as my old one

UPDATE: I've changed the rating for these bowls from a 3 star as stated in original review to a 1 star now. After carefully washing and drying them by hand, I decided to use one for a meal. I picked one up and examined it carefully. It had a chip on the rim. I put it down to check out another one. It had a chip too. The 3rd one had an imperfection on the bottom of the bowl. These are going back. I'm also going to try to contact the company directly to see what has happened to the quality of these bowls bearing their name. I'm really disappointed. This set of bowls was packed securely so the damage was NOT done in transit but it's just very poor quality. I just received this set of 4 pasta/soup bowls today. I already own one other Certified International pasta/soup bowl. I've had it for about five years. I love it. I use it quite often, even to eat burgers and breakfast, as well as pasta and soup. The first thing I did noticed was this set is made thinner than my old bowl, it's not as heavy and the lip on the top is not as wide as my old one. I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting the exact quality as the bowl I already owned. Had I known this, I wouldn't have bought these. They've been washed and I plan to use all four of them tomorrow and probably everday for a week to see how durable they are. I will update this review either way, whether I like them or return them. I'm hoping they're a decent quality.

Not the size I thought they were

These bowls are beautiful! I am looking for large bowls that can be used for a salad that would be the main dish for supper. I need something better, but these would be great for a hearty soup meal!

Happy bowls will make your other dishware jealous

I have been happily using these bowls for almost a year. They really have added a touch of sunshine to our gloomy lives here in the north. Beware, though. These dishes are so happy and colorful they may cause resentment in your other, more drab dishware. Today, a Pffaltzgraff cream pitcher from the set of stoneware I had for years, a dull white thing with a blue flower on it, made a suicide leap into my dishwasher to smash one of these happy bowls, the green one, into shards. The cream pitcher was totally unscathed, but my beloved favorite green bowl is no more. If I could, I would buy another set, but alas, it is not in the budget, being taken up with more mundane things like supporting college students who happen to be my children. I wish, oh how I wish, I could buy just the green bowl.

Great quality

These are the perfect size. Dishwasher, microwave, great for salads, pasta etc . They blend well with my solid plates. Versatile

Beautiful Colours

I bought an entire set of Certified International, as well as, large pasta bowls and serving platters. If you want colour in your life these are definitely worth the money. The only thing I haven't found is slightly smaller dessert plates.
