Pretty good band

My husband got one of these about a year ago and with all the sweating and lifting he does in his workouts and the tough day to day job he has as an army infantryman it broke,so we had to get a new one. It fits perfectly on the watch and on his wrist and the quality seems pretty nice, he's just hard on his stuff. It's also just the one half of the band that you link it in that keeps breaking so I wish we could just buy one half! Hopefully this one lasts a little longer then a year or he may just get a new watch next year!

Breaks after several months

Do NOT buy these, or a Forerunner 15. I'm rating it 2 stars only because it is comfortable and easy to put on/take off. However I've been through 3 of these (directly from Garmin) and they break after about 7 months of daily use, without exercise. The first was the original. The 2nd replaced under warranty. The 3rd was a one-time 'courtesy'. Hugh from Garmin stated: "Unfortunately, the only way to keep the band lasting as long as possible is cleaning the band after it is used. The salt content the band encounters from sweat can cause the band to eventually become brittle if it is not rinsed between uses. Most of our newer watches have hinged bands so that the band is not torqued on as much and that helps the band last longer." So a device, made for people who work out, will deteriorate more quickly because of the salt. I wrote a letter of complaint today about the defective materials used.

Correct replacement for Forerunner 15 SMALL

For those reviews complaining about this being the wrong size, this is for the SMALL Forerunner. One comment mentioned that it was previously unlabeled (small vs large) which may have been the problem, but currently it is correctly labeled small. I believe the small Forerunner 10 and 15 use the same band but I only have the 15 so I can't be positive that it fits the small 10. Band is great, tool is helpful and reusable for other things. Works great.

In a matter of seconds, my daughters old but well loved Garmin 10 was given a new life. I couldn't believe how easy and fast the swap out was. It has been a couple weeks now... I waited to see how they hold up. Still look factory new and she is HARD on things. When she eventually manages to destroy these, or if she just wants another color, I'll happily by more.

Broke after a few uses

I bought this watch band at the end of February 2019, being very careful to make sure it was the correct band for the Garmin Forerunner watch I had recently purchased from Craigslist. Interestingly, the watch I bought was in great shape, but the band was broken and needed to be replaced. The new band was easy to replace, but was worn maybe 10-15 times before it literally fell off my arm because the band broke. There is obviously some kind of defect in the band or the way they are manufactured is not appropriate for the use they are intended. I really feel like I should get a refund, but deadline has passed because my son didn’t start using it until his track season got started in April, so it broke after the return window closed.

This is perfect. It's an exact duplicate of the wristband I tore. Another reviewer said that this doesn't fit the FR15. That's not quite right. This doesn't fit the larger of the models. You definitely don't want this if you have the black/blue model, but if like me, you have the black/green smaller model, this is the band you want. Just be certain that you are buying for the smaller version of the FR 10/15 watches and you won't be disappointed.

Buckle portion not up to standard

I replaced my wife's straps because one of them (with the holes) had cracked after a decent period after 4 years use. The new buckle strap broke after just 4 days. Several recent commenters have had similar experience. Garmin said this was the retailer's responsibility not theirs, and that all their products are rigorously tested. [Obviously wrong!] I arranged an Amazon return, but since they had put the price up to over £20 in the interim, I put the 4 year old unbroken buckle strap back on and (fingers crossed) the new hole strap has been working OK with it after a month. There is clearly an unacknowledged serious manufacturing problem with a batch of at least the buckle strap portions. Beware! I see the price has now gone back to £15. Weird.

Incompatible to Garmin Forerunner 10/15

I tried installing this product on my Garmin Forerunner 15 and no matter what I do, the replacement strap just won't fit. On comparison with the original, the buckle of the replacement strap is not compatible with the watch and very much different from the original. Even the straps are a bit thinner than the factory included strap. This seems for another watch or model.
