You never want to need them, but must have them just in case
It’s never fun dealing with stripped down bolts, but these work great

Not an every day socket
I own; Matco Pro torque anti-slip sockets and Snap On FDX sockets both are in my service cart because they can double as my every day sockets. These are not them. These are really ONLY for damaged fasteners. You'll be hitting these on with a hammer most times and while yes, they work, don't expect these to rip through rusted out bolts like they are held on with butter. Loosening rusted out fasteners these get about 3/5 being honest. Both the Pro anti-slip and FDX sockets do about the same but have the added plus of being able to use on a daily as they don't damage the fasteners in any way... these will. - 20 years A-tech/shop foreman.

Two pumps, and done.
I had to remove a 20 year, old power steering line. I figured I would round off. The nut. So I purchased this set. Snapped off the line. At the nut. Broke like a pretzel. Put the socket onto my Dewalt 3/8 impact. Two hits and it was off. I have replaced many rusted out lines, over the years. Usually with vice grips, etc. this kit made it too easy. I was prepared for a fight, because of the lack of , swing room. But had no issues.

Straight flute design allows you to "work" a fastener free.
I don't write many reviews let alone positive ones so that should tell you something right there. As for this product the straight flute design is a great idea and is why I chose this product over the typical spiral/conical/one directional flutes that everyone else makes. 1. As mentioned in the description, straight flutes allow you to loosen and tighten. This is incredibly helpful when gently working a fastener free so as not to break off the stud or bolt in the part. 2. Other designs that "cut" into the fastener can ruin threaded studs that go past the nut, especially when severely corroded and you have to use the smallest extractor possible. That being said, I have recently removed exhaust flange nuts that were practically disintegrated down to the threads on the studs. Access was also limited as the flange had a deep lip that went around the perimeter preventing the use of vice grips or a splitter, it had to be a socket. These were 14mm nuts some of which were so bad I had to use the 11mm bolt biter to spin them off. I thought this would definitely gall the studs a little, but there was just enough bite to grab the smallest amount of metal and spin the nut. Remember, these don't cut/dig into the fastener like other designs which would have ruined my studs. After that all I had to do was run a die over the studs to clean up the roots of the threads and they were good to go. Looking at my pics you would think that can't be real....yeah, and so did I when I was taking apart my exhaust. And, yes, you can actually see between the individual threads of some of those nuts they were that far gone. To be fair, I did employ the usual old school tactics pre soaking with penetrating fluid and using a torch to "break" the corrosion that fuses everything together. Anything less would have made this task impossible regardless of how great the tool. You have to put in your due diligence to solve your particular problem/situation. Don't expect any tool to save your ass, use your head and figure it out. The tool is merely an aid to your success and this particular design allowed me to do just that. I knocked off one star because these are made in China. I should actually give it only two stars because it's made in China maybe even no stars, but I think the design is fantastic and I want to give credit where it's due. I would have gladly paid more for these if made in the USA.

Good Quality
These extractor sockets are made tough, but the one size that I used ended up stripping the bolt heads even more. I suppose they might have worked had my bolts not been so rounded off, and maybe I should’ve had a more inclusive range of sizes, which might have given me the next size smaller to try out. Thank you for the quick shipping, and high quality sockets.

Pretty good in a pinch
Worked pretty good on my rusty old exhaust nuts and bolts didn’t except it to work very well when I seen the design of the teeth/serrations

Stubborn fastener tools
These tools are described as being for stubborn/rusted/damaged fasteners. They work well, and are of good quality. Overall, the tool set works well, although if you are willing to look around (and pay more) you can get better ones. ChannelLock NutBuster pliers work slightly better, and Wera Chiseldriver screwdrivers are also slightly better for extra tough jobs, but their damaged/broken nut/bolt removers are as good as any I have used. They are 'straight' rather than 'twisted' like most of them are, so if a bolt/nut is rusted bad, and needs to be 'wiggled' back and forth to work loose, you can do it with these. The twisted ones are good for loosening only, if the threads start to seize you cannot turn it back down and add more penetrating oil to help break it loose. For these alone, the set is worth it, if you deal with rusted/damaged fasteners. The pliers and screwdrivers are a nice bonus, and while they are not the 'best' I have used, they are very good, and the price is right.

Works every time so far
Just brought the 28 PC's set a week ago and already started to used it a couple times. Saved me lots of time and frustration. 1st time used on at least four of 10mm rusted and damaged timing cover bolts. 2nd time used on 2 of rusted and round off 10mm heat shield bolt. Great tool. Will try in the future for larger rusted round off bolt see if it can handle the job.

not good
i have a rounded bolt and i bought this hoping that i can take off the bolt but it did not help removing it the tooth of the extractor shreds easily. i wont reccomend this.

BEST SET EVER OF BOLT EXTRACTOR
This is what you need to unscrew any screw that is severely damaged. I recommend definitely to all mechanics and even personal restoration projects.

Great tool but check for quality!!
Excited to try these. Look great except the one socket wasnt machined. The 8mm and 5/16" socket was not machined and shipped to me so its useless!! No quality control at Gearwrench factory!
