Easy to clean, kind of annoying to use

Better to use and clean up than my microplaner, which is why I got it, but it’s kind of hard to maneuver the large handle around lemons, which confuses me since one of the descriptions says it’s been improves to BE larger. It is really cool that it collects all the zest into the handle as you go, so minimal cleanup. Like I said, it’s really easy to clean. And if you want longer pieces of peel for garnishes, etc., there are 3 wider blades on the end of the zester and it’s easy to make successful lemon peel curls, even for a rookie like me who was experimenting for the first time. So, my only complaint is that, with a microplaner you can just lay it over a bowl and run each side of the citrus over the top to get zest, but you have to repeatedly attack each area and side of the lemon to get all of the zest. It’s redeeming quality is that it keeps the zest in the handle and it’s much easier to clean.

Perfect!

I was using a cheese grater to zest before. This gadget changed my life! Love how it collects all the zest. Easy to clean and use!

Not my favorite zester

It's a shame because I really love this brand, but I just felt this zester worked terribly. It was hard to tell what direction you're supposed to zest in because every direction yields equally poor results. It felt like I was shredding up my lemon rather than zesting it. I'm rating it 3 stars because, despite it not working well, I do believe it was still made well, and I like the design feature of the removable compartment where the zest collects. I just wish the blades were better designed. I'll stick with my much larger microplane zester in the meantime.

This thingy Is FIRRRRRRE...!

Zesters have been getting on my d*mn nerves forever! This lil gizmo here is a game changer. I get like 5x the zest EASY. i was so mad after i used this... I gathered up my old ones..and threw them at my neighbors dog lol

Not so great

I thought zester that would fit in my palm would be safer and easier you have the strength of the whole hand. The rubbing left to right does zest but only firm items. In another review they said carrots and that is true. A very very hard firm lemon and orange does give some results but it takes pressure on the fruit and a few passes. Strips are difficult and dangerous to the fingers. The 1 good point is that it collected the zest inside of the tool. However, but the time you collect 1 tablespoon of lime zest, it has become old and dry. I wish I had believed the reviews.

Great handy kitchen tool great price

I love this little gadget. It is very simple to use, comfortable on your hand allowing better safety when zesting than other methods and the collection chamber makes gathering your zest a lot easier as well. I also ordered one for my uncle after using it and seeing how easy it was. He has hand dexterity issues and this has made it a lot easier for him.

It just doesn’t really work that well

I love the concept of this, the way it holds the zest inside. And I like how you hold it, with a little finger ring to grip it with. However the main zested/grater doesn’t seem to really work unless you have a very firm thin-skinned citrus fruit. If your lemon or lime has even a little squish it doesn’t really work at all. The top zester does work, it just makes thicker long strings of zest and I was hoping for a finer zest.

It's ok

What I like: It's compact, stores well, easy to clean, has a protective cover and grates ok. What I dislike: The design - I turn it sideways to grate or else the upright position feels too awkward. Hand motion - I prefer a microplan rasp as it gives me better motion range for back and forth grating. That said, the product does work and is of good quality!

Another Amazing Chef'n Product

My first Chef'n product was the peeler which I absolutely love and then I came across this as it was advertised by email from Amazon. This zester is the best zester I have ever used. This is so easy to clean and makes zesting very very easy. The fact that is fits nicely in your hand makes for very easy zesting and I love that is stores the zest inside. Now I'm not one to use a massive amount of zest or garnish a lot of meals, so this holds far more then I will ever need it to right inside the internal compartment. In the end I would have to say that I very highly recommend this product for anyone.

Awesome Zester

This little zester is extremely easy to use and does a fantastic job! I wish it would fit slightly differently on my finger - that would make it a little easier to zest. But, it zests my lemons and limes very quickly and efficiently. It even stores the zest in a little compartment. Would definitely recommend.

Great for arthritic hands

The best thing ever. I was having trouble with grating zest with my hands. Bought this palm peeler. It’s absolutely fab. No mess either the gratings go into the container held in the palm behind the grating thing. And I didn’t even cut a finger and I got loads of zest. Never been so impressed with a buy.
