Exceeded expectations and I'm going to buy the set

I saw some reviews that made me sceptical. I was hesitant to buy the whole set so I just bought the one I needed at the time. This was a 1/2" x 13 tap. I drilled and tapped 50 holes in 3/8" (A36 carbon steel) material and the bit is still going strong. You should have no issues with this bit as long as you use it properly. Keep it lubricated during cutting/tapping and don't use excessive force. I love the product and plan to buy the whole set.

Worked Great on Engine Block

This tap along with some tap magic lube,, made quick work tapping dowel holes in a cast iron 351W engine block for a 6R80 transmission conversion. I bought another traditional botton tap just in case, but didn't have to use it. The drill portion served to line up the tap so it was perfectly straight. I was impressed with the ease at which I was able to tap it by hand.

Stays sharp

Used it to drill holes in my jeep frame so I could reinstall my crossmember. Worked like a charm. I did predrill with smaller bit but that's because I did not want it to brake. Cut 7 holes no problem.

Good price for the performance

This is a very efficient to use product. I got to use it with Aluminum and mild steel, But I made some testing with Aluminum, Mild Steel & SS-304 and it the M6 toll is broken with SS, I think it needed lubrication as the tool gone red 2 seconds before breakdown. Otherwise it's a good product.

Easy to use, easy to break

If you are drilling into something like a hollow tube, the drill part may bottom out, causing the tap part to strip the threads just made. My opinion is they break a lot easier than a regular drill and tap. I think due to the small diameter between the tap part and Apex driver part. I had the 6/32 ,8/32, and 10/32. Only the 10/32 is still unbroken. At about $10 a pop, for me not a good value.

Works perfectly!

I was quite pleased with the results from using this tapper combo. I was a little hesitant at first because of the speed difference needed to tap vs drill, but it actually works quite naturally. I drilled into tagua/corozo nuts, but I could see this working on just about anything else that needs tapping. I liked it so much I'm going to buy another one in a smaller size! Just be careful once you get to the threaded section because it will naturally pull as it taps!

nice idea, but better to use a real tap set

I planned to use this to tap 6-32 screw holes while modifying computer case, but it broke on the first try when drilling a 1/8" aluminum sheet. Recommend potential buyers beware and consider using a regular drill and tap set instead.

Good tool

Like the way this works saves time
