A decent good quality for a low priced Binocular
I have been using these binoculars off and on for a while this is what I found... you get what you pay for... Very dim view and hard to see in low light, with a 50mm objective lens this is surprising. But it must lack lens coatings.. In the daylight they appear to be okay. Approaching the end of day they lose brightness. Area of sharpness is narrow so I am constantly focusing as I move the view closer or farther away. There is only a small area of view that is sharp; pretty much what you are looking at will be in focus. Move the view and you will need to refocus especially in higher magnification. The sharpness that I am used to having when in focus can not be had with these binoculars. As I reduce the zoom the circle of view get smaller. I do not dislike them since I can leave them outside. If anyone stills them for 30 dollars I am not losing a lot of money Zoom lens Binoculars are good because you can vary magnification and have one binocular which can take the place of several. You can hold them somewhat steady at higher zoom magnification. The are not popular because they are difficult to make then as good as non zoom binoculars. They sold for 30 dollars at Amazon Warehouse in good condition so I really had nothing to lose. They do not have the quality of my other binoculars but they are clear and focus okay in daylight. I like they are are smaller and easy to carry for having a large objective lens. The zoom is okay and it does work well but not as smooth as I would like. Celestron is know for making good telescopes and binoculars at a very afordable price. Since they are not real valuable I don't need to worry about treating them with white gloves. If I had money this would not be my first pair but for 30 bucks used they are can be okay until you get a good pair. They have a 50mm Objective lens which makes them ideal for low light including looking at stars. Perfect for children

it's an OK item
I like them and it brings items in close. I just wish they were a little clearer when zooming in at the higher range.

Love the optics, but understand its limitations.
I've been eyeing binoculars lately to replace my 20 year old Japanese 10x25s, and was considering 8x40s from Nikon and Olympus. I live in Australia however, and everything is double the price here. Anyhow, I needed to first define what I would use it for: and my first priority is for starspotting. After that, it will likely be used on holidays and vacations, or general planespotting from my backyard. As a result, I need a general pair of binoculars, without it necessarily being rugged, or having waterproofing, but with decent optics. This pair caught my eye solely on its pricepoint. The 10x magnification would let me enjoy close up views with manageable shakiness, and the 50mm aperture would let in many more stops of light. So upon receiving it and playing with it for 2 days these are my observations: - the optics are amazing for the price you pay: VERY bright image and amazing clarity! The focus ring is wide enough and gets a good fix for subjects at infinity (stars) and 3 km away. The objective lenses are well collimated and the depth of field that the two scopes provide is really enjoyable. The right eye diopter also holds its setting and makes the image very bright and clear - Speaking about stars, I am travelling in Bangkok now, and through the light polluted sky downtown, I can see many more stars in the sky next to the bright lights on top of buildings. Even saw a bird flying in the night sky high above the buildings, the aperture is *that* good in letting in the light. Having said that, the artificial light sources do tend to cause some flaring within the barrels/prisms. But it doesn't obscure the stars in the centre of focus anyway. - Looking up at the tall buildings and fancy hotels, I notice some significant pin cushion effect of the straight vertical lines. This doesn't bother me because the image clarity is amazing, and this is a pair of binoculars, not a camera! - I wear eyeglasses, and have astigmatism. The eyecups are a rigid sort of rubber so it stays inverted firmly when I turn them out. The lesser field of view caused by my glasses doesn't bother me. My focus is ultimately in the centre of frame when using the binoculars. - The construction is solid, but it won't win a beauty contest for finishing. The body and grip is all rubberized and feels good to grip and hold. But the finishing is a 7/10 - not fancy nikon or olympus level attention to detail in the lines along the bodies. Also when looking through the barrel from the objective lenses, you can tell that the Celestron is built more cheaply in how the light passes through. The mounting screw-hole and thread is also cheaply finished - this is probably my biggest concern, as I don't want to strip the thread when mounting it. Also, be careful where and how you use it as Celestron does not claim to make it (nor is it) condensation-proof and waterproof. - One lens cap keeps falling off from the objective lens. - Compared to my uncle's Bushnell 16x50, my Celestron is amazing. The magnification is just a little less on the Celestron, but image is so much clearer and brighter. Sure the Bushnell is more rugged and heavier, BUT - the Bushnell has an awful focusing mechanism with limited focus throw. Both the Bushnell's focuser and diopter tend to lose focus very easily. Also the hand-jitter on the Bushnell is not as manageable as on the Celestron. - Compared to my uncle's 10x40 monocular, the Celestron 50mm lets in more light and has better clarity. But the monocular is better built and more rugged. So all in all: For the pricepoint at $29, and for my needs - I love this pair of binoculars! The image quality and usability makes it excellent value for money. If you need better construction, Nitrogen sealed condensation resistance, and need undistorted perfect images, then raise your budget five fold (10 fold in Australia) and buy a nikon, olympus or pentax.

CONSIGLIATO.

Best quality binoculars under £100 in my personal opinion.
Very prompt super quick delivery;arrived next day;instead of quoted timeframe of around a week.Binoculars in very good condition with all items as mentioned as well as extension to warranty from standard 6 mths to 12 mths;this was handwritten on order form from store manager.Considering the binoculars cost me around half their normal rrp ie.around £30 instead of £60;I am very impressed with both the excellent exceptional service received from Fraser and also the quality of binoculars themselves.Excellent optics and feature packed binoculars including multi coated optics and being water resistant but obviously not waterproof or fogproof.Regarding the optics at 10 times magnification excellent but obviously as you increase to 20 and then 30 times magnification can see purple colour fringing thus slight degradation but this is to be expected as they are Zoom binoculars;however I would say the optics are still very good even up to 30 times magnification and the image is very lifelike almost 3D;regarding keeping the binoculars steady;I got upto around maybe 15 to 20 times magnification at a stretch relatively smooth image;I'd personally say to use a tripod from around 15 times magnification upwards dependent on how steady you can hold these binoculars. These are the first binoculars I've bought up to this high specification from a quality brand such as Celestron, thus cant compare to previous binoculars of this standard;thus I have assessed the optics by comparing to the optical zoom on my point and shoot Canon and Panasonic camera's and on this basis I would say the Celestron binoculars are on par with my camera's optics;thus I am very impressed with these binoculars.I would rate these as the best binoculars you can buy for under £100 all things considered especially the 10-30 times zoom capability as well as the excellent brand Celestron;as mentioned I bought these for around £30 thus much more impressed with these binoculars. The only binoculars that would be in competition with these would be Olympus 8-16 zoom binoculars around £75 and Nikon 10-22 zoom binoculars around £130 or so but considering these Celestron rrp is around £60 and they have better zoom magnification;excellent brand name for value for money and water resistant build;I would say they are the clear winners based on everything. Update:After using these excellent binoculars over the last couple of month's.I still rate these binoculars very highly for high quality at good value for money.Be aware that these binoculars use BAK-7 Optics same as Olympus binoculars mentioned in review but the Nikon Aculon Zoom binoculars use BAK-4 Optics which are the best grade optics for binoculars;however the Nikon are priced around £130 or so;thus if you were looking to spend this much on Zoom binoculars then I would say Nikon would be better binoculars for sure but obviously at around twice the cost and with less zoom. Both the Olympus and Nikon are multi coated lenses same as the Celestron. In regards to Celestron UpClose G2 10-30 × 50 Zoom Binoculars;I would say the more you zoom the less bright the image is;thus 10 times zoom is with best results however upto 20 times zoom brings very good results in normal bright daylight conditions;upto 30 times zoom can be used but I would say this is best for bright sunny conditions due to lower image quality and loss of brightness of image. In low light conditions I would recommend upto 18 times zoom generally.I would say 18 times zoom is the sweet spot for most conditions to get the best out of these binoculars.Do bear in mind I am comparing the results to Celestron LandScout 8 x 40 Binoculars that are far superior and their list price is around £130 or so;these LandScout Binoculars are not Zoom Binoculars but 8 times Magnification.I did get these binoculars from another supplier at £65 incredibly with only one in stock with this supplier. Thus I am being very picky and critical in regards to what these Celestron Upclose G2 10-30 × Zoom Binoculars can do;as I'm comparing them to very high grade Celestron LandScout 8 × 40 Binoculars;technology wise;as this isn't a fair comparison due to much better features and technology with Celestron LandScout Binoculars;it's just to put the Celestron Upclose G2 Zoom Binoculars in perspective. Thus to summarise I still rate these as the Best Zoom Binoculars you can buy for under £100.I just wanted to give you an update and in particular limitations of the Celestron Zoom Binoculars after using them for approx 2 month's.Now the price has reduced to £50 on Amazon thus they represent even better value for money for excellent relatively light weight binoculars all things considered;especially with the 10 to 30 times Zoom capability.

Great for astronomy
I made the mistake of getting some giant binos for all my astronomy needs - 25x70 - and they're nigh impossible to hand hold for more than 5 seconds, and even difficult to use with tripods. I ended up with a couple telescopes, but wanted a more-manageable bino set in my inventory. This have been great. So easy to handhold steadily and kids can use them as well. Monsoon still abating, but moon views have been great and you can make out Saturn's unique shape. The bag is a bit shapeless and weak for storage, fortunately I had an old hard box from a 40-year-old pair of 10x50s where these now reside.

It does the job very well - again
I bought this for a safari holiday in Zambia with the family. I normally like to research and buy good quality equipment that will last many years, but as I did not envisage tasking another expensive safari holiday any time soon I looked at the budget end of the spectrum. i owned one decent set of binoculars but assumed that as there would be 4 of us on the trip that i needed more. So I bought 2 similarly spec'd budget Binos of which the Celestron was one. They were both similarly priced and both performed as well as each other. So the review itself? Well I cannot fault these budget binoculars, they were simply excellent. If I had purchased another well-known pair that cost three or more times the price, I very much doubt that I would have been able to discern any difference.

10-30x50 zoom bins not to usual celestron standard
purchased the 10-30x50 zoom bins, advertised as having good fov at 30x.. they arrived, looked ok at 10x magnification ( which is slightly less than 10x but more than 8x by my comparisons) but as soon as the zoom is used the image gets very distorted and not so clear, and the maximum zoom was more like 22x than 30 x. I have had celestron 7x35 bins and they were great and have had celestron trailseeker scopes both 65mm and 80 mm and they are great ( with different eyepieces) but these zoom binoculars were atrocious, maybe a bad sample but not going to bother trying another pair.
