It Works!

I have a used, but very good and durable ASUS DVD/CD player that had a bad cord causing it to work intermittently. I replaced it with this one and WHAMO, it works every time! I'm a happy camper.

Solidly built USB 3.0 host cable

This is a solidly built USB 3.0 host cable. It works as expected. However, I ended up returning it because it was a bit shorter than I needed. The return process was very smooth.

Works perfectly and I have speed tested to be true USB 3.0 speeds.

I am using this on my Dell monitor to make use of its' USB 3.0 ports. I tested the speed of transferring 10gB of videos from my PC to my external USB 3.0 drive connected to my Dell monitor's USB 3.0 is consistent with transferring the same 10gb of videos directly from my PC USB port to the external drive. Transfer rates are the same and very fast compared to when I transfer the same videos on a USB 2 port. Highly recommended and very good value.

Does the job perfectly.

I have a monitor with a USB 3 hub built in. For some reason, it didn't come with the necessary USB-B to USB-A cable to plug into a computer, so I just picked a random cable from my pile of cables and it worked. I didn't even think about it at the time. For ages, strange things would happen with devices plugged into the monitor and very quickly I just blamed the monitor. Last week I happen to be behind the monitor when I noticed that the cable I had plugged in was a USB-B 2.0 and not a USB-B 3.0. This meant the devices were not getting the total bandwidth available and were being limited by the cable itself. Some of the devices would just not work. Mac OS in particular didn't like the USB-B 2.0 cable. So I bought this cable and almost instantly everything just started working perfectly. No device issues and i even plugged a hard drive into the back of the monitor and the performance is acceptable. Suppose the moral of my review/story, is always use the right cable. I consider myself quite techy savy, but it's so easy to make mistakes with cables, especially USB based ones.

Exactly what you think it is

It's hard to write reviews for such basic items. They either work or they don't. This one does. It arrived in the usual amazon fashion, along with 2 other small items that I'd ordered, covered in the paper towel you get in public toilets and sealed in a box big enough for 75 items of this size. Upon removing the cable from it's packaging, noted that it is approximately the same length as the description had implied, the same color, the same thickness and had little blue usb 3 style colors and.... It's a USB cable. It's plugged into a USB slot on my computer and then a powered usb hub some 7 feet away from my computer, and thanks to its 9 feet of length, performs exactly what was needed. To get from point a to point b and allow my usb controller to plug in without having to move my computer to a less useful position. Problem solved 15 out of 10.

Perfect replacement, great quality & price!

I'd purchased the AmazonBasics USB 3.0 A to B Cable as a replacement that came with my Dell U2515H monitor to connect the built in USB 3 Hub. It worked perfectly fine, I use all the 5 USB 3.0 available ports on the monitors hub. There's a dedicated port for charging my phones a fast charge, and data speeds are the same as expected using the original cable which include 1 x external SSD, 2 USB Pen Drives, a web camera and Platronics headset. I'd say the AmazonBasics are a step up from basic in my experience, they're well built and reliable. I wouldn't look further for this product, good quality & price. Thanks! note: a while back before purchasing this I purchased a printer cable, totally different so make sure you're purchasing the correct cable ;)

Excellent performance for a 2.7m amazon cable.

I purchased the 2.7m run of this cable since my custom work station is long and each cable needs to run from my 4k monitor and external hard drives mounted on the bottom of the desk to either a pc or laptop. The quality of amazon basic has really stepped up in quality. The connections are strong with a solid finish and the cables have an appropriate thickness to them. I'll definitely buys these again for other projects but what stands out to me is the reading and writing speeds, which are at an almost 1:1 ration averaging 120 mb/s.That is very similar to some of the mid tier offers from premium brands out there. Overall for price i highly recommend getting one of these for yourself.
