Doesn't fit well - poor quality

This isn't a very good replacement for the original. It doesn't fit well as as a replacement and the "handle" out on it constantly comes off. It is poor quality, the filter is more difficult to clean and has to be perfect to get the lid on the coffee maker to close. I can't recommend this.

Not the original filter provided by Capresso! SEE UPDATE of 7/29/13!

7/21/13 I have just received this filter which was supposed to be the Capresso 750.09 gold tone filter...it is not! It is much smaller than the filter provided by Capresso with their machine. We have two of the Capresso 440. Both filters are identical and bigger and heavier/hardier than what I have received. The seller should be stating that what they are providing is not the original filter provided by Capresso. Not worth $8.95....maybe $3 at best. Just a piece of junk! 7/29/13 Since posting my original review above, 7/21/13, the situation has been rectified. I complained to Shop Deals USA and within a few hours had a response. They apologized for sending the wrong product and immediately mailed out the real Capresso 750.09 gold tone filter which actually came in a Capresso box. The first filter was not in anything other than the box used for mailing...it was just loose. I asked if they were going to provide me with a return shipping label for the first one and I was told to just keep it. The real Capresso 750.09 also is not the same one that came with my machines. This is not the fault of Shop Deals USA. Apparently Capresso is either not carrying the heavier gold tone filter supplied or the heavier filter is no longer manufactured. The new one does not have the weight of the original and is noticeable, but if that is what is available what can you do. Many products seem to be made much cheaper these days. At least the filter in the Capresso box is comparable in size and shape. The first filter I received from Shop Deals USA was much smaller and extremely lite. They did get right back to me and did get the correct one out right away. I had it in a couple of days. It all worked out! Originally I gave the first filter I received a one star which I am changing to 4 stars. I am giving 4 stars due to the new Capresso 750.09 not being as hardy as the original sold with my coffee maker. I expect that the gold mesh will separate from the plastic much sooner than the original. It is what it is and did not cost a fortune. These gold tone filters probably should be replaced every year or so.

Good replacement basket

We have an older Capresso coffeemaker and needed to find a replacement for the basket that had started to separate. After searching for a while I found this one. It fits perfectly; however, one end of the bail seems to like to detach when it is being washed. It is not broken, just a loose fit.

Works Great in a Coffee-Tec Model 471

Used in a Coffee-Tec Model 471 10/14/20 Update: Despite writing in my original review that I thought this filter basket looked “much better designed” than the filter basket that originally came with my Capresso machine, it “only” lasted four years. That’s “only” 1,400 pots of coffee, or a daily filter cost of slightly less than a penny...which I think is roughly half the cost of the typical paper filter. I’m gonna say I think I got my money’s worth! Ironically, what I complained about in my original review - a slightly misshapen filter - was apparently just a fluke; the filter that arrived today had a perfectly round brim. Really though, it’s not about the cost; using a reusable filter reduces demand for paper and trees, keeps unnecessary waste out of landfills, and I think provides a better cup of coffee. FYI, the filter failed due to the wire mesh fatiguing and cracking at the bottom of the cone, where the wire mesh meets the plastic. My guess is that my aggressive daily cleaning of the filter probably hastened it’s demise. But again, for a penny a day I’m not going to worry too much about it....and neither should you; this is a fine filter, buy it and go enjoy a good cup of coffee. Original Review: This replacement filter looks to be much better designed than my original Capresso filter which "only" lasted nine years! Also, If your filter arrives and the top is a little oblong and doesn't fit into the filter basket properly (like mine did), don't worry. The hot water from the first pot of coffee will "stress relieve" the slight deformation and it will return to (mostly) being round. Subsequent pots will continue to improve the situation. On that first use, just gently press the filter fully into the basket and brew your coffee as normal. Enjoy!

Good for the environment and less things to need to buy

Like everyone being stuck at home and now having to make coffee exhausted coffee filters. Coupled with stock issues from EVERYONE I was glad i picked this up and the "backup" is now my main filter. The taste is the same till you get to the bottom. Filter works well enough except it does let very fine coffee grinds through which if you pour that last cup after the pot sits for 15 minutes you get the "sludgy+gritty" cup of coffee. I dont have that issue using paper filters. BUUUUT not having anxiety of NOT having coffee or desperation of pouring over hot water over coffee in a bounty towel... yeah totally worth it.

Filter Mods May Be Required

My old filter started to develop holes on the bottom and luckily found a replacement. This one is not quite an exact copy so made some modifications. The filter fit fine but the top edge ring was a bit too big. So I just shaved off the plastic edge until it completely dropped in. So after many uses the gold screen is holding up very well and not developed any holes. This is an original part but for a slightly different model version. Like the previous one it is easy to clean and holds the coffee grains very well.

Compatible. Maybe less durable.

Works just like the original that came with the machine. Only complaint is that the gold filter element is not as thick to feel as the original so not sure if it will last as long as the other one did for almost 8 years.

Le quedó perfecto a mi cafetera . Se deben cambiar de vez en cuando las refacciones y vale la pena.
