Useful Gate
The gate functions as intended and the biggest thing for me, it works with moulding (uneven surfaces). However, there are a few minor issues with this gate. First, like others mentioned, the glow in the dark pieces do not work. Second, this gate does not lock in place in the open position like some others do. This is a bit annoying because it always restricts the pet passage. Lastly, the gate does close with some velocity if you do not manually close it. I can't imagine how long the plastic pieces can last after many high impact closes. All in all, it's a good gate for the price and I hope it lasts until my puppy gets big.

Doesn’t have an option to hold open
Easy installation, seems sturdy, but many other gates have a way to lock open and this does not.

Holds up to my 100 plus pound dog!!!
Seats very nicely and firm. I would definitely recommend it. I have 2 Xtra large dogs and it works very well with them!!

Working so far!
We have a 75lb one year old male Aussie Pyr with incredible agility that likes to hop fences and this has worked so far! We got the 39" tall so he wouldn't be able to jump it. He can glide right over our 29" gate. We've had it for about two months and so far he has not jumped or even attempted to jump over this. I'm not sure if it's because of the height, the fact that it's still new, or that the room it is guarding is less interesting than the other one but I've been thinking about buying another one to replace our shorter gate. I love the glow in the dark feature. It's not as bright as I wish it was and it's sticky to the touch but it's definitely noticeable at night when the hallway is dark. I also like the two way swing and auto close since it's a hallway. It is a little difficult to open with one hand since you have to pull up on the gate to unlock it. I might have to buy a foot pedal to attach. It was an absolute pain to get into place and took two people since you have to use a wrench to turn the bolts holding the tension on each side. I really didn't like that but once it's in place it won't move often. My other Carson gate has easy to use hand grips to hold it and I can put in place by myself. The gate also feels really flimsy and will bow back and forth with pressure but it seems to be sturdy enough since it puts up with the poundings of our Aussie Pyr and our 50lb Husky. I do not have kids or use it often so I'm not sure about heavy use or long term use. I wish they had an option with a kitty-door but I guess you can't get everything. All in all it's a pretty good gate with unique features and finding one that is 39" tall and black is hard to do.

Great option
Biscuit was very unimpressed with this weird structure stopping him from charging in the kitchen at alarming speeds to demand a meal with his cuteness. This was great for us because he refused to stay out of the kitchen. Every time you get up, he would go charging down the hallway before almost knocking you over to get to a meal that he feels entitled to. ???????????????? gotta love our Biscuit man. I know it’s crocked, don’t feel like fixing it ????

Fits doorway well
I like the height and that it fits well in the doorway without having to add the extensions on the side. Door swings in or out. For my use it is perfect!

Absolutely Perfect!
Say goodbye to those horrible, clunky, problematic, old-school plastic baby gates! THESE are the future! These are amazing! Worth every penny! They are lightweight, super easy to install, super convenient to use, and very sturdy. They are fully portable if you don't screw them into the walls and buying and adding silicone nanny cups to the pressure bolted ends of the gate means that they don't budge (note: nanny cups do NOT come with this gate, you have to buy them separately. I got mine here on amazon.ca for about $15 and they were totally worth investing in to use with this particular model of gate). The gate swings BOTH ways and closes automatically behind you after you've walked through, so there's very little hassle. The locking mechanism is pretty easy for adults and older kids and doesn't require much strength to open. Just use your thumb to pull back the latch at the top of the gate and then "lift" the gate doorway up a wee bit to slip it out of its second locking mechanism at the bottom before pushing it open (a lock at both top and bottom is best because otherwise some naughty little animals might get crazy ideas about squeezing through and could get caught or stuck, so I personally think this is safer). It swings open and closed smoothly and the noise it makes as it snaps shut behind me isn't a big deal considering that it reassures me that my gate it firmly closed and my pups won't be getting through it. If you want it to close behind you more quietly, you can simply put a hand on it to ensure it swings closed slowly and gently as opposed to snapping shut with a clang. Also, as a side note, I am a plus sized woman... So the fact that these gates have a wide doorway is REALLY appreciated because going through them sideways or feeling like I was squeezing through them constantly would have been a total pain in my plump rump lol. The gates are relatively attractive. Simple, clean, unobtrusive. I bought white because that's the colour my door frames are painted and they look great. The instructions for installation are very easy to follow. Basically, pop the 4 plastic capped bolts into the top and bottom holes on both sides of the gate, fit the gate into the doorway you want to use it in, and tighten the nuts with your fingers until until the gate stays in place. Then, grab the little wrench they give you with the bolts and tighten the nuts until the gate doorway lines up with the frame and the locking mechanism "clicks" into place. You're done. That's it. Ready to go :) (again, please consider buying nanny cups for this model since it's really not intended to be screwed to your walls/doorframe. They ensure that your gate doesn't damage your walls and they also give a LOT more "grip" to your gate so that it doesn't pop out of place when someone gets a little rough while using it or a heavier pet or child leans on it). Tip: one of my doorways isn't squared properly, so I couldn't fit nanny cups on all 4 bolts of one gate and my teenagers (who are impatient ruffians at the best of times) kept hauling on the gate and popping it off the wall. This is not the fault of the gate... It was simply due to my kids being graceless berzerkers and the fact that my house was built sorta cockeyed. What I did was cut about 1/4 or 1/2 an inch off the (uncapped) end of the bolt that held the gate to the unsquared side of the doorway and it gave me just enough room to slide a nanny cup under that plastic capped bolt. Now that all 4 nanny cups are in place, the gate works like a charm and not even my brutish offspring have been able to rip them out of the doorway lol. In summary: these gates get 5/5 from me and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know who's in need of gates for pets or children.

Great! Until it Broke!
The media could not be loaded. Updated Review ⭐️ Downgraded my rating because the gate door hinge broke and is not repairable. This gate is useless to us now. Plus, I cannot find any way to contact the manufacturer; not through Amazon, nor through the Manufacturer’s Amazon page. A dog gate made of steel, should have a steel hinge (not a plastic hinge). Also, I did use a level to install the gate, ensuring equal pressure on all parts of the gate, as per instructions/instructional video. I am hoping the manufacturer contacts me. Original Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent, easy to install, safety gate for Pet parents. Keeps pets safely wrangled while you arrive home with packages, parcels, meals, groceries, carrying small children etc. No more jumping on you or bolting out the door. It’s brilliant.

Could be great but …
If you follow the instructions, it sets up well and works very well. One very major problem: my 14 week-old lab/border collie puppy got excited to see my wife come home, put its head through the vertical bars and got stuck! If we had not been there (I had to muscle bend one bar enough to get the pup’s head out) I don’t know what might have happened. Bad, bad design! Put more bars closer together, please. Now we know for sure we can’t leave our pup alone with this product till she grows bigger.

Weak plastic hinges that break and can't be repaired or replaced
I have now purchased 3 of these gates. The height and being steel I thought they'd be exactly what I searched for for my dogs. The gate is easy to install and is nice looking however the gate hinges and latch are plastic and this is my third gate the door hinge has broken off completely which renders it useless as when you lift it to open it the entire gate is in your hand out of the frame. I have American Bullies and with the gate closed and locked in place the hinge should not break from them merely jumping up to put their front paws on it. Unless they change the construction of the hinge to metal instead of thin cheap plastic I do not recommend these gatea for anyone with dogs over 5 pounds. Very disappointing for these gates being so expensive yet weak in construction. I just purchased my 3rd gate November 2nd so it barely lasted a month and there's no way to fix or replace the hinges.

Just the gate I was looking for!
I have a new to me cat. 1 year old, on the small size and I needed something that had bars spaced closely together with no mesh or such that she could climb to keep her off my apartment balcony. It is very sturdy, the height is perfect, and easy to open and close. It was very easy to install. My door opening is 30 inches and this gate fit perfectly with no addition of the extra pieces. As I live in a rental space I didn't use any of the screws to hold it in place and and it hasn't loosened any since it was installed. I love it and I know that my cat is safe. One thing I had to keep in mind, which I hadn't really thought about, was they type of door hardward on an outside door as it can be a little cramped for space if your have a large door knob and locking device. I highly recomend this gate. My cat and I are happy.
