Vintage and Works Awesome
This is a toaster with some science to toasting uniformly. My sister demonstrated to me in her Airstream. She used on gas burner. Quality and simple. Yes, slightly bulky and I almost bought folding one but the airflow seems to be well thought out to achieve the effect of toasting nicely! This would work in open fire and electric. Many applications. Recommend!

Works pretty well. I’m keeping it
I haven’t tried two slices yet on my single burner Coleman propane stove. I use the longer artesian type white bread. I set only one side of the toaster over the flame and toast one slice. It toasts evenly and faster than my old method of using a fry pan. It doesn’t fold up, but I prefer not to have to unfold the other type every time.

Works with careful babysitting
This is the best toaster we been able to find for camping. Having said that, it's still not a perfect solution. First, we can only toast two pieces at a time, and you absolutely must keep an eye on the toast as it can burn pretty quickly. Doesn't toast evenly, but it does toast nicely when watched carefully. Not easy to clean and it's developing some rust. Overall, however, we are pleased to finally have decent toast outdoors.

Best camping toaster but rusts easily
I've had one of these for over 15 rears and have tried other camp toasters - the A-frame type and the 4 piece flip up wire type. This by far is the best toaster as it most evenly cooks the bread and is much quicker than the others preserving your camp fuel. But it's made of plain steel and rusts very easily. I wish these were made of stainless, I'd gladly pay the extra cost. Here is a tip: before use season it like a cast iron pan. This should provide better protection but not sure how long it will last.

Makes much better toast than the standard camp toasters you come across.
This toasts much more evenly than the toasters that look like a rectangular tower on a round plate or the folding ones where a wire framework is attached to a round bottom plate. I purchased this on a whim and was surprised at how well it performed. It's not automatic, of course, so you have to keep the flame fairly low and your eye on it but it makes nice toast, bagels or frozen waffles etc. After using this, I tossed three other models I had accumulated in the trash. It's made with a plated steel so I think it will rust eventually (but still function). My only suggestion to improve it would be to offer a stainless steel version.

Worth the purchase
So glad I bought this for camping trips. I’ve used this countless times on a 3-month road trip and it has worked great every time. I don’t wash it in water; just tap the crumbs out into the trash can. It’s holding up great so far.

Brilliant
I live on a boat which has a propane stove. Being conservative with fuel is important I’ve tried other stove top toasters and this one gets the best results The trick to getting the perfect toast is low heat. This unit cooks perfectly and does not take a decade to cook the toast.

Great toaster for gas stove
I live in a Caribbean county where electricity is very unreliable. I've tried almost every type of stovetop toaster around... This one is by far my favorite. Simple and gets the job done fast. Just pre-heat is 30-60 sec or so before putting the bread on... Works... Seems to last so far .. used daily for the last few months. Hope this helps
