Works well... don't care for the smell though.

Product works well, but the smell is a little off for me. That could just be all tanning supplies for all i know. I apply this before spray tan sessions before i leave my house to save time when i get to the studio, plus, i think tanning salons are germ infested and poorly cleaned, so anything to limit my time there is helpful. Im 6'2", and id say this bottle would last me around 12 to 14 spray tans.

Buy it!

I'm a natural red head with fair skin. Since getting pregnant with my son 8 years ago, my pigmentation has changed greatly and i dont change color at all in the sun or even in tanning beds so I've tried every sunless tanner in the stores and even paid $60/ week for mystic tans. In an effort to save money but preserve vanity, I tried this lotion. I no longer need to pay for Mystic sessions! I save about $180/ month because one bottle of this last me about a month with application every other day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Fresh Scent!

This California Tan color Maximizer Primer smells fresh and goes on smooth. I think it has a citrus like scent and it is a clear gel. Most of the other brands (like versaspa) have a horrible smell or smell like baby powder, which stinks on top of the sunless tan smell. I have had great results in versa spa at Sun Tan City salon using this! I haven't had streaks at all. I think the price is excellent and it last a super long time. For me a bottle of this lasts all Spring and Summer. This is also an excellent price as this sells for 2x the price in the salon! Don't hesitate to buy this product or buy a salon product from Amazon. I love California Tan!

Great Gel to Maximize Tan in VersaSpa

I bought the set of the California Tan sunless tan maximizers, 1, 2 and 3 at "At the Beach" for a considerable amount more than you can get them for through Amazon. The only California Tan product that I have continued to use is the #1. I order it through Amazon as it is 1/2 the cost that I would pay at the tanning salon. I put it on lightly all over my body and face and rub it in well 10 minutes prior to spray tanning in the Versa Spa Spray tan enclosure. It helps to even out my tan, keep my skin subtle and non-greasy and eliminates that stinky self tan smell. Love it!

as I hate standing in the booth at the salon for this ...

I am a spray tanner via Mystic spray and this has worked well for me. I couldn't fathom spending $50+ in the salon for a primer lotion, so decided to give this a try. I usually will shower, apply this and throw on some sweats then head out of the door to my spray tan. Seems to work well, as I hate standing in the booth at the salon for this to dry once there. Will purchase again.

GREAT FOR TINGLE LOTIONS!

I have the annoying problem of never ever feeling the tingle in tingle lotions, they don't even make my skin pink at all. The girl at the desk where I tan suggested I put this on before the tingle and just like that I finally felt the tingle! I am so so so so happy I found this product! I love that its a gel it absorbs quickly and you don't have to use a lot to cover your whole body so the product lasts a lot longer then a lotion. If you have the same problem with tingle lotions or if you have built up a tolerance to tingle lotions GET THIS BOTTLE ASAP! LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 :) :) :)

Clear gel, unsure if it works

Being honest, I bought it because it was one of the cheapest. Ive previously used expensive creams from my tanning salon and Im fed up of paying out the money. I cant decide if this actually works or if I'd have had the same results using nothing. Being a clear gel, it doesnt tint your skin, doesmt prevent burning, and doesnt moisturise. But saying that, I'll carry on using it as I feel I SHOULD be using something before climbing onto the sunbed. A good cheap alternative maybe.
