Fixable Minor Inconviences for 5 stars
I read the reviews before purchasing and worked around the complaints. Tape the coffee maker in the on position to avoid the switch failing-turn it on by plugging in! To avoid paper filter failure use 2 and make sure filters sit evenly and completely down. Do not overfill with coffee amount at start-I like stronger coffee and use 5 generous scoops of coffee measured by a Gevalia coffee scoop. I'm guessing a tablespoon is the equivalent. Make sure grounds are evenly distributed in the filter-like a lake and not a mountin! I fill the water in the pot between 12 cups and the maximum. Swing the water injector All the way over manually and close the top. Plug in to start. Once the coffee level is over the 12 cup mark I open the lid and quickly drain any water and IMMEDIATELY close the lid and wait til the action stops and then turn the coffee maker off by UNPLUGGING. I don't use the 2hr hotplate feature, but a microwave to heat any additional cups. This way the heating element isn't prone to having any problems. Following these simple steps has kept my Mr.Coffee working without incident. You can always decrease the amount of grounds or water used for your preference and if the paper filter flops over make sure it is opened evenly and the grounds are level! Hope this works for you!!!

Glad to have my favorite coffee maker back!
I have used this style Mr. Coffee for years. Last year when my old one finally gave out, the only manual Mr. Coffee I could find in the stores in my neighborhood was the supposedly "new and improved" version. WRONG. I put up with it for almost a year but couldn't stand it anymore. Had to find the older, better Mr. Coffee. This version has water levels viewable from either side; doesn't try to scald you when you remove the pot; dual anchored handle; thicker glass on the pot. You don't have to tip the complete unit over to get all the water out of the area where the basket sits. Water levels shown for brews from 2 cups to 12 cups...not just 6 to 12. The only coffee pot I will use! Thank you, Amazon, for still stocking this version!

Fantastic basic coffee maker
Love this basic coffee maker. It works as expected and gives a nice volume of coffee. Notably, this one doesn't come with all the bells and whistles that some other coffee makers come with. For example, this coffee maker does not have a timed delay, which was a point of consideration for my partner and I who both work in healthcare and have to get up quite early. In any event, we got a smart plug from Kasa and time the coffee maker that way! It suits our needs and I think we ended up saving big time on buying a more basic coffee maker. Most importantly, the coffee tastes great :)

Old reliable still gets it done
If you are really fastidious and want something fancy, you can shop all those expensive machines. If you are someone who wants a good cup of coffee and a machine that's easy to use at a good price, you can't beat the old champ Mr. Coffee. They upgraded the design a little bit so it looks more contemporary but it's still affordable and gets the job done. There is no learning curve. Just enjoy the coffee.

Mr. Coffee delivers it's quality even at the lowest end of the scale
This Mr. Coffee I bought it basic. It has no fancy buttons, or timers, or differing blends, it has an on and off button. If you want stronger coffee, you add more grounds. The opening where you pour water in is large, and easy to use. The basket needs nothing more than a cheap paper coffee filter. The carafe comes out and goes back in easily. It has one "fancy" part to it, which to me is a necessity: it has auto pause, so you can pour a cup of coffee while a pot is still being made. Sturdy and Mr. Coffee reliability.

We'll See
My last two Mister Coffees didn't last very long. Planned obsolescence and a need to furnish landfills, I suppose. I'm waiting to see how long this one works, but just in case I got the extended warranty.

Nice little maker
Nice little maker. I’m happy with it. Initially I bought a different one but it came broken so I replaced it with this one. :) If you’re being picky, I do miss how my old one opened from the side rather than the lid opening straight up. It’s a minor thing but our counters are small and it hits the cupboard where my coffee is at. Still getting used it. But it doesn’t feel as cheap as the one that came broke. :)

Simple, but works
Wanted something that didn’t have a Clock and all those other fancy things that eat up electricity when not in use. This works great. I’ve had it for six months and so far so good. Brew coffee every day.

Trash product. Two defective makers in a row, still waiting for a refund
If it worked properly the coffee machine wouldn't be that bad. It is bulky, made of cheap plastic, unattractive, but it does the job for the most part. Condensation builds up on the underside of the cover which spills onto the counter every time you open it. There are no features, just an on and off switch, which you'd think is fine for the price but even other coffee makers at the same price have several features. That being said, the first one I got leaked from the bottom. Every time I made coffee there would be a pool of water on the counter. I asked for a replacement, which I got. This one worked for about a month and then the switch started coming loose, and then stopped working entirely. I asked reported the problem and they offered me yet another replacement, to which I was skeptical but accepted. Then after waiting for over a month I wrote back asking for a refund instead of a replacement, which they said they would do. Two more months went by without a refund so I ping them, now they're saying they want me to send in the last defective machine to get a refund. If you're looking for a cheap, straightforward coffee maker, get a different one. For $40 you expect something cheap and simple that will work, not to have to deal with awful customer service for months. Not only that but like I said, in the $40 price range there are better machines out there. I should also mention that the customer service was directly from Mr. Coffee, not Amazon.

Great for a smart home setup!
Bought this because there are few that are just simple on/off and we really wanted that for our smart plug. Quite happy with it! Only issue is the quality of the lid, you can't wash the carafe without it popping off. It is not sturdy at all. However, this is such a small concern next to the lots of pluses! Would buy this again.

Great for my HomeKit setup
In terms of making coffee…it’s exactly what you’d expect. Easy, simple…no weird tastes or plastic vibes in the coffee. The switch is either on or off…if it’s off…it’s off until you turn it on. If it’s on, it’s on until you turn it off! Why is this important? If you have a smart home setup, like HomeKit, this will work great! I have an automation that turn the plug on in the am…as long as I set the coffee maker up at night, I’ll have coffee ready to go in the morning! BUY THE BASKET! Don’t do the coffee filter thing. There is a basket for this, and it works great!

Basic Coffee Maker - Does What it Says
The media could not be loaded. Simple, classic coffee maker. Drop filter in, add coffee grounds, pour water in tank, close lid. Press one button and it does it all. Only feature I would like to see is an auto-off after 1-3 hrs. We sometimes forget if we're busy

Been used in the family for years
Bought my own when I moved out, thinking mom had thrown hers out after a decade of use. She used it for a trailer instead. Easy to use, to clean, cheap, easy and durable. Never had an issue before. This time I got a switch that broke, probably got a defective model. The C/S team in Mr. Coffee upgraded me for free because they were out of stock.
