easy install

the cover that came on my crossbow scope beoke. I bought this one to replace it. It installed easily and seems much sturdier than the original.

Difficult to Order Correct Size

First, I think the product is decent, but I only give it 3 stars because the ordering process is so confusing. I have returned this product multiple times-to the point where I'm sure I am about to be declared "PNG" by Amazon. While I don't think I'm a complete idiot, I won't rule out the possibility-as Jimmy Buffet sang in the middle stanza of Margaritaville-"Well, it COULD be my fault." The issue is this: The Butler Creek Flip-Open Objective Scope Cover (all black) has the word "Objective" in the title but it can be used to cover both the eye piece and objective lenses. The trick is determining the correct sizes for both. The best way is to measure both the eye piece and objective lens OD with a mm ruler. In the write up for these covers, there is a sizing chart from Butler Creek (too fuzzy to read in the ad so I've uploaded a clearer version). There are two scales on this chart- one for eye pieces and one for objective lenses. If you are ordering this black scope cover, make sure you use the objective scale on the right and match your ruler measurements. Next you have to be careful of the Amazon drop down menu of sizes- some are eye piece measurements-not objective lens measurements.For example size 10 eye piece measurements are 1.516in/38.5 mm and 1.5in/38.1mm for the objective lens. Make sure you compare the size dimensions in the drop down menu to the objective chart measurements. For example, for my Weaver Classic V series 2.5-7x32mm Model 49399 Scope (also ordered from Amazon) I needed Size 10 obj for the eye piece and Size 13 obj for the objective lens. The data for this model scope was wrong on the Butler Creek website.

A cover up without a scandal.

I have several sets of these and have never had a problem. They are nice looking, and of good quality. They fit snugly (if you order the proper size) and keep mud, dust, and finger prints off of the lens. They are very easy to install, you simply line them up by choosing where you want the cap to be when open, and push them straight on. They are also very easy to use. You simply flip them open to look through the scope, and when you are finished, simply flip them back down until it clicks into place. I absolutely love these and have them on every scope that I own. The product arrived on time and in great condition. I would definitely order from the seller again.

Best price for the most popular flip-up scope covers by Butler Creek

Use these flip-open covers on all my scopes. I actually prefer this style for both my front and rear lens. I do not like the one Butler Creek offers with the red push tab type for the rear lens. A little tip - if your scope diameter size is in between two sizes offered by Butler Creek, go with the larger size and use some vinyl 1" wide electrical tape applied around the inside of the cover circumference. Do 1 full wrap at a time until you are happy with the fit. Provides the right amount of cushion without marking or doing any damage to your scope and holds real well.

Protect the glass

I use Butler Creek scope caps on all my scopes. I have had some for years and still no issue. Plastic still looks good, caps still flip open quietly. I would buy again. Just trying to find the correct size is the biggest problem. I had to return a cap or two for a different size without issue.

I learned my lesson upon buying two tube type red ...

I learned my lesson upon buying two tube type red dot sights and having the pins come out of the flip caps and losing the pins and springs in the range clutter. On receiving these replacement flip open caps I put a small drop of Gorilla Glue at each end of the caps pivot pins and solved that problem forever.

Fast and Easy open and close...and QUIET!

This is a very well made cover that offers good value, protection and convenience. I was a little apprehensive about the size to get, as I had noted that others struggled to get it right. However, I went to the Butler Creek site, followed the sizing guidelines and got as close as I could to the correct objective and eye diameters. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Thankfully, both this and the eye-end cover went on easily, and work perfectly. The flip-up and down action is smooth and quick...and surprisingly quiet. I can't imagine these covers ever wearing out.

A gamble...this time I won

I have had mixed results with these covers. This one worked perfectly. I give it 4 stars only because in the past I've had some of these not want to stay closed. This one was quite good, I just knocked a star off as a warning that sometimes they just have a mind of their own and come open too easily.

Does not stay in locked down

First one lasted 2 days of hunting. Company sent a replacement tried again this year same issue. Locks closed a few times then will not stay closed. Forward objective I purchased at same time works flawlessly. same brand different size bad batch I guess

問題なくすぐに使えました。

スコープの外径サイズ（実測）をキッチリ測って置いたので問題なく取り付けが出来ました。蓋も軽く開閉しました（他に２個購入も同様に）。＜参考＞他店で安価な対セット品を４セット購入しましたが、蓋の開閉が固くて使い物になりませんでした。・・・ルーターで蓋を削って、どうにかＯＫになりましたが、大変な作業でした。
