High quality product
Dewalt is known for quality and this item lives up to the reputation. I'm sure it will last my life time. My kid's too.

1/2" drive Deep Socket Review
For anyone needing to replace electric heating elements in their electric water heater this is the tool I found best to use! Follow all required safety precautions and call a professional if needed. I did HVAC professionally for a living, and I Oftentimes had to replace water heaters or their elements. In the past I struggled to remove the heating elements. Not this time. I used this 1-1/2" deep impact socket and a battery powered impact wrench to remove the elements in my water heater. This set up saved me a bundle of time and was an inexpensive way to make a tough job a lot easier! I would definitely buy this tool again!

6 sided sockets wont' round and slip on the bolt head
Easily took out the old heater elements in a water heater with this. Six sided sockets won't slip, round the corners off, like the typical sockets. Used it with a 1/2" drive breaker bar.

Decent, but the shoulder isn't very thick
This socket has a nice snug fit, and relatively thick sidewall but the shoulder is thinner than it should be. I know that may be my OCD talking but its concerning I noticed that immediately. I have an entire set of DeWalt metric as well as a partial SAE set of impact sockets. They're very nice, quality, tough, and only one place in town sells them. This 1 1/2" is disappointing though because the shoulder is not very thick to me. I also ordered a Sunnex 1 3/8 with this and the Sunnex is twice as thick in the shoulder as the DeWalt and appears to weigh slightly more. I'm not saying it's gonna bust or anything like that but this is a large socket for heavy duty work and when the shoulder is thin or disproportionate, the transfer of energy suffers. That's been proven in tests. I've been noticing this problem on other impact bits from other manufacturers. There's no reason for it because it's beyond the hex sidewall. It's not like they need extra internal space. This socket has dead space inside whereas the Sunnex is solid full material. The shoulder should be thick. I give this 3 stars because this socket should be built to move this earth without question. I dont need my sockets to be shy on material as if my wife is going to lug them around in her purse. I'm sure it'll be fine but it should be somewhat impressive.

You’ll need this socket to change your electric water heating elements
This socket is a must if you need to change your electric water heating elements. You get what you pay for. The socket from Home Depot as included in the picture, the tolerance is not good. As the result, when torque is applied, the socket slipped/doesn’t grab the hex nut on the heating element and you’ll bust your knuckles. I wasted my $7 + change and my time on this cheap piece of junk. This Dewalt 1 1/2” socket made it less stressful and job went much smoother. You’ll have the confident knowing that proper tightening was done and definitely don’t want to fill the tank only to find out that it was not properly torque. I am sure this socket will be handy for other your projects/jobs.

Not so deep really. Dimension shown is not correct.
Product dimensions shows L equals 13.5 cm, however this includes the size of the plastic name tag that is used to hang it from a hook at the store, The true length is 7.9 cm by my caliper. The DEPTH is only 2 3/8 inches or 60 mm. It is not deep enough and I feel wronged, For my use I need a true Deep Socket with the standard 3x the threaded stud diameter depth, or three inches in this case. Amazon please correct the product dimension.

Great tool...except for my needs. Outside diameter is 5.2 cm(~2.05"). too large to fit in recess.
Looks like a great impact socket. Did not use. I bought this SAE 1.5" impact socket to remove the heating element on my RV water heater. Unfortunately the heating element is slightly recessed in a tube-like cavity and this impact socket (outide diameter 5.2cm/2.05") is just a tiny bit too large to fit. Tried to buy a Hilti Model # 336383 at Home depot which I "thought" might fit, but they switched it to a model 375857 which was also too large. Ended buying a cheap hand tool (Camco) which fit but still had to drill bigger holes, and closer to the edge, to insert my larger, longer screwdriver in order to get more leverage and clearance from the access panel. I may keep this impact socket though in case I need it for something else. Note: Arrived poorly packaged in my opinion. Just dropped into a pretty thin bubble envelop. Lucky that's a sturdy item, no damage but I think it could have broken through that thin bubble envelop.

Works well
I used this with comp air ratchet to loosen 1" nut on engine transmission that was tightened to nearly 200 ft-lbs. This socket loosened it with ease. It works like a charm on trailer hitch ball nut too.

Good For Water Tanks
Used this with an impact wrench to remove six point element from a water tank that required a good amount of torque. I don't have any other uses for it however will keep it as it's a far better alternative to the hollowed out hex wrenches that you get at Reno-Depot and other hardware stores that would probably snap from the torque needed.

A good offshore socket.
The first socket received was incorrect. The seller sent the correct socket afterward, without any hassle. Using the 1 1/2" deep socket with 1/2" drive to install and remove 1 1/2" lug nuts on a Rockwell axle.
