Daughter likes them
I bought this set for my 2.5 year old daughter. She enjoys pointing out the shapes and putting them together then pulling them back apart. However, she is not old enough to really "build" things yet. I did take away a star because the wheels don't spin in a normal way in our set. They do only if you force them to by hand, but don't if you just build a car and try to play with it like a normal car toy. I also think that this toy has some pieces that are too small for a child who just turned 2 or is still putting things into their mouth. The box says 2+ but definitely use your own judgment about your child and whether they will choke on the smaller pieces. With regard to the quantity, I bought the small set to see if my child would like these because I have bought a few block sets that she never plays with. The quantity is a good value when compared with the bigger sets and you can always buy more sets if you see that your child likes them. For us, it's a good size since she is not old enough to actually build anything. I would rather constantly pick up 56 blocks over 112. Once she is older, I'll add more if she is still playing with them, just like all of the other block sets. One warning though, if you have seen this set in a store, like I did, the box is NOT full. I thought the box I saw in a local store was a good size, and that did influence my decision to purchase these. When I opened the box, though, it was only half full. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would buy them again as my daughter does enjoy them and I enjoy that they are battery free, music free, and promote imagination.

very creative and my child loves them! but 56pcs set is not much.
My child has been playing with these very often since he got his first set with his "Benessse" Monthly Educational Package in Japan, it was when my child turned two. We wanted to add more pieces to the set, but we didn't know that they are commodity and we even didn't know the name. I found them on Amazon when I was looking for other toys, and got this set. 56 Pieces set is not much, but it is great for us since this is "add on" for us. If you are thinking to buy this set and try these for the first time, ordering 56 piece set is a great start, and you should buy one more box at least if your child likes them. These blocs goes both horizontal and vertical ways (unlike lego) ,and easier than regular blocs (like Mega blocs ,legos, etc) for young children. My child is going to be 4 soon, but still creating many different things with these!!

Great blocks, though 56 pieces isn't as many as I pictured.
I have a 2 1/2 year old son who is really getting into pretend play, but isn't quite old enough to turn Legos or Duplos into recognizable objects. That's why I love bristle blocks--they can build in 3-D relatively easily just by sticking the blocks to one another. In my mind, 56 pieces seemed like a lot, but in reality, the set is much smaller than I would have guessed. There are only a few larger pieces, which means only a few big blocks with which to build other things. If I had to do it over again, I would order the bristle blocks but get a larger set. Bottom line: get these...just get more of these.

Still the best!
When my adult children were toddlers, they received a set of Bristle Blocks. Those blocks were wonderful because they stuck together so well. No matter how high a tower, or how steep a mountain, or how staggered a contraption, or whether the masterpiece was held upside down or sideways, the children's projects remained intact. Now that I have three grandchildren, I purchased Bristle Blocks for them to enjoy the same way their parents did. The blocks are easy for little fingers to handle. They attach with a bare minimum of pressure, and stay locked firmly in place. Bristle Blocks are colorful and inviting to children, and they encourage creativity. As when my children were toddlers, I still consider Bristle Blocks among the favorite playthings in our toy closet.

Fun but no instruction
Fun blocks but would have liked to have instruction for creations that are on the box. My son kept looking for the helicopter that was on the box. I winged it. Badly. Some pieces don’t stay together well. Overall fine.

Educational and fun
I've searched so long for these building blocks. My sons (5 and 2) love them. Their imagination runs wild with these blocks. The blocks offer so many possible things to build. They can spend hours during the day building with these.

Great Toy/Quality Made/Feeds Imagination!
Got these for my grandson, along with the set that comes with the family. His daddy had them when he was young and loved them. We had great fun building and he loved the gift From Rockets, to helicopters, to 'big BIG towers' we built.

Pieces do not stay fitted together
I would not purchase this item again. The pieces do not stay fitted in place well at all. Once the figures are assembled and the child tries "playing" with the figures, the figures crumble in their hands or on the floor. The pieces do not stay locked tightly at all. The box states 2+ as the suggested age, but there is no way my 2 year-old can keep the figures together long enough to adequately play with them. Another complaint I have is rather minor. Since there are such few pieces in this set, you really can only construct one figure at a time. Pictured on the box are four figures (train, helicopter, dog, and robot), and I would have liked to be able to make all four figures at a time. However, that is not a possibility. For example, there are only four wheels in the set. Pieces have to be shared between figures. Also, when we first opened the box, I was disappointed that it does not come with a plastic carrying case. For some reason, I was expecting that it would. I guess you get what you pay for, and this toy was manufactured poorly.

Great educational toy with appeal for all ages and genders!
Great starter pack of blocks for my daughter, great price too! Only niggle is that they do not come in a box that they can be stored in...

Stickle bricks as you know them
A great toy for young builders. My children love them. Good quality. Shame really that no toy shops will stock them anymore, because of some issues regarding shocking danger. Delighted that I found them on Amazon.

Brilliant bristle blocks
Brilliant little blocks exactly like the ones from when I was a kid and contain wheels to build a car and a few other little things that the kids imagination care to invent. Probably the only down side to it is they don't come in a bag or something to keep them in once the box is opened they just come in a plastic case but I cant really complain about that these are hours of fun.

Good but chunky
Chunkier than stickle bricks so not compatible. Good set for the money.
