Not the same bottle as msr
I had bought this cheaper bottle for my msr xgk stove but returned it because the neck size is fatter than msr and pushes the gasket out not recommended for msr pumps

GOOD GEAR
I bought my first Sigg fuel bottle sometime in the early eighties along with my Svea stove and it has literally traveled the planet with me. When reading the reviews of the horrible “childproof cap” I hesitated but thankfully I ordered anyway as I wanted the green Optimus bottle with the butch warning labels all over it cause I’m a gear freak that way. I’m putting together some kit for a planned adventure motorcycle trip on the Trans America Trail as soon as the Coof restrictions lift and wanted a couple new bottles for emergency gas, stove fuel and a leak proof,puncture proof, oil bottle. Don’t fear the child proof lid, it’s great and is interchangeable with older bottles and caps. It’s fairly easy to open and the best part unlike the older caps is, if it’s tucked in a pack or pannier bag and gets knocked hard it won’t unscrew and that’s a big plus over the older caps that had to be paid attention to while packing. A couple words to the wise after 50 plus years of military, Outward Bound instructing and adventure travel. Don’t over tighten as this squishes the gasket and will cause premature failure. With the childproof cap it’s simple you just spin it down,then push down to lock and snug it just a bit and you’re GTG. Also you need to take a q-tip and put a conservative coating of silicone grease on the gasket as the petroleum drys out the rubber and it will crack. Use Scuba tank seal grease or I just used a little “Snow Seal” boot sealer and it worked well. Don’t use petroleum jelly for obvious reasons as this will dry the gasket out. Also do not fill above the fill line if used for gasoline or petrol as there needs to be room for the gases to expand. I’m sure this bottle has 40 plus years in it just like my old bottle. Take care of your gear and your gear will take care of you.

Punishment for my error.
So love is a strong word, but I bet if I need this I will love it. Some back story required. Ive been thinking about getting this for the fuel mod for the motorcycle for awhile, but I never planned on running out of gas, so I never followed through. So I was riding the motorcycle along on a warm summer day here in the PacWest, when the fuel light goes on. I look at the remaining range and think about my destination, and decide which gas station I would stop at as I speed along on the interstate. No problem right. Right... So Murphy decides that range=25 == empty and the bike stalls out at 75mph in the center lane of the highway. So I coast over to the shoulder which happened to be nice and wide, turn off the bike for a moment and hit the starter. Bike starts, bike stalls. So I hop off and push. After about a half mile (uphill + 90 degrees), I stop to take off my helmet to cool off. After another half mile, I stop to unzip my suit. After another half mile of pushing a kind gentleman stops to see if need some help and offers to get me some gas. I push for another half mile while I wait for him to come back. When he gets back as I'm dumping the gas in, he mentioned this cool fuel storage mod for the bike. I grin and listen. Thank him for his help, give him some money for saving my *ss, ride off to fill the bike at the nearest gas station and then return home to purchase this canister.

Does what it says
holds gasoline and dont leak, but it does however run down the side when you pour it out, so go quick to minimize this

good quality aluminum bottle
This bottle is very useful for a backup tank for mowing and snow blowing , everyone has been there 3/4 of the job done and you run out of gas , and a regular gas can is a pain to take with , this bottle will be perfect for my need. I purchased a JFFCESTORE Minimalist Adjustable MOLLE Water Bottle Holder Kettle Pouch Belt Bottle Carrier for 17-42Oz Water Bottle (Black) to keep the optimus bottle in .

High quality. Reviews complain about the child safety cap. The cap is just fine. If you do not want this cap order a different one. It is not hard to use.

What is the point of a "child safety cap"?
A five year old could figure out the child safety cap. With access to pliers or anything that would go through the loop a kid can open this anyway. Just adds more to the cost, thanks californiblah for regulating all your ridiculous junk to the rest of the USA. I took this junk apart (a little bit of a pita) and mixed up some jbweld and stuck it back together so it will be fully locked forever more!!! I also purchased a Trangia Fuel Bottle Safety Valve and MSR Expedition Simple Screw Top Replacment Fuel Bottle Cap just in case. I'm scared to see what kind of ridiculous regulations are going to come out of the current "elected" officials.

Compré 2 para un viaje largo en moto. La realidad es que es justo lo que necesitas. Producto robusto con una tapa que no se va a abrir accidentalmente. No más, no menos.

De maravilla para complementar mi estufa de MSR, se ve y se siente de muy buena calidad y además la tapa cuenta con cierre y anti niños y aperturas indeseadas. Lo recomiendo apmpliamente.
