Hated to Install... Love to Swim in it

This is a GREAT pool but you should know that on a scale of 1 to 10 for "Do it Yourself" this project is a 10+. It was VERY VERY difficult to put up. It took 4 of us 3 solid back breaking weekends to do this AND our ground was almost totally flat to start with. I can't imagine how hard it would have been if we weren't already on a flat surface. You have to get the ground within 1" flat and this is an 18'x 33' pool. We had a tractor AND a contractors level and it took us 6 hours to level our already flat ground. With shovels it would have taken another 2 days. Also it isn't possible to install the wall without at least 3 people and same with the liner. It's just all too heavy and awkward. You should also know it doesn't come with a LOT of required items. The Sand required was 2 full truck loads ($125) and 4 hours of work AND $50 in paving stones required for all the supports that all have to be dug into the ground and leveled. I cannot stress enough how much work this was. I learned later that it only costs about $1,000 to pay someone to put this pool up and I wish I had known that because it would have been money well spent. But I LOVE the pool. It's huge and very sturdy and the pump cleans the pool well.

This pool was built for me, love it!!

I love, love, love my pool! Kudos to the genius that invented & perfected this pool! For those of us that would have a built in pool if they could afford it or didn't live in Mi. this is perfect! I bought a few extras to go along with it and will buy a few next year but if you can't afford to buy any extras you will be able to get through a summer with what comes with it. Because I put mine on a deck I ordered an elephant pad to go along with pad that came with it. The filter got us through this summer but I'm going to buy a little larger one for next year. I also bought a vacume cleaner & a solar cover. My garage is pretty close to pool so fine gravel from shingles get in water & would sink to bottom & I could not pick up with the skimmer so I bought the vacume & all summer long I had beautiful clean water! Next to the real deal (built in) this pool is it!!

Great value, poor handling.

The cover itself fits my 18x33 pool very well and does a great job at keeping the temperature up. Many times this summer my pool was at 90 degrees when my neighbors had dropped down to 80. It seemed to always keep my pool 5-10 degrees warmer than the one next door. At times, I even left it off a couple of days when the pool would get too hot. My only gripe was with the the handling of the product before i received it. The bag that it came in was torn completely at the bottom and it appeared that the cover had been dragged across concrete. When I spread it out, I found 3 holes about the size of baseballs. I chose to contact Amazon and received a partial refund, though I really don't think the holes affect the function of the cover. Since this is a 3 year solar cover, I plan to purchase another when it wears out. The price is much cheaper than similar covers found locally and at online pool stores.

Usage

For the price I bought it for I think is okay quality. The one thing I noticed that didn't happen right away on my previous pool covers was almost 25% of the bubbles that create the heat to the pool water had popped in less then a week. Hopefully it doesn't start breaking down and clogging up my filter in the next 4 months. After that it's done and trashed.

Poor quality

Totally rotted from the sun only after a few months of use. It tore in several places and the blue bubbles sloughed off and were over running our pool. We were so hopeful this would be good quality.

small bubbles

Just received the cover. Much faster than expected which is GREAT....But the little bubbles are very small and many are popped or deflated. The size looks perfect. It feels thin and if it was cold like it would crack. But with the heat i think it will be fine. We are filling the pool this weekend and will start it's use then. I will update again after we put it in the water. So far i'm on the fence. UPDATE. great cover. Heats water nicely in the beginning of the season. I would recommend getting some sort of reel system as it is a bit awkward to get on and off alone.

Thin, but working perfectly fine.

This is thin, but does the job. With solar or winter covers, I always assume the worst will hapoen throughout the course of the year, so I never order expensive ones. This cover has done a fine job of retaining the heat and raising the temp about 5 degrees despite our relatively cool summer. Again, it is thin, but not so thin that it gets stuck on the sides when putting on or taking off. If I can get a few more summers out of it, that would be found money.

BEST PRICE ANYWHERE!

Excellent price - EXACT same item at Home Depot was $204. Quality is good for 8-mil and at this price would replace yearly if it doesn't hold up. My original 12-mil deteriorated after 2 summers and the bubbles were breaking and it tore easily. ****UPDATE***** mine lasted two years .... end of last season it started tearing and the bubbles had water intrusion and algae in them. I kee my chlorine level below 3 ppm and the pH is 7.4. Didn't last the 3 years but the price was good. I wonder if they will honour the 3 year warranty. The price has gone up - paid $65 in 2015.

Makes a few degrees difference!

I am very pleased with this purchase. I was concerned about purchasing the thinner material, but it is easier to handle and is making a difference with my pool heat particularly as the nights are getting cooler! I ordered the oval and should have ordered rectangle for my pool so the corners are not covered, but it still works! Next time I will make sure to pay closer attention to the shape!

Great product for the price!

This arrived quickly, and was exactly as we expected. After just 3 days on the pool, the water is now warm enough to swim! Sturdy and lightweight pool cover. Can't comment yet on durability or longevity but expect it to be good for a few years.

Do not buy

Ordered this for my son's pool, really poor quality, no thicker than a plastic bag dosn't retain heat, dosn't sit on top of water, starts to sink. complete waste of money and it wasn't a cheap price.

Good Solar Blanket

The blanket is working well but it is a little early to tell how long it may last.
