Great Idea, Poor Execution
Bought this as part of a birthday gift for a dancer getting ready to go on pointe. As the other reviews state, no needles, small amount of thin thread, feels like they sort of mailed it in instead of making it something nice. Everything is there (except the needles) but it's not more than a one use, maybe two item. I agree with some of the other customers in that it felt like I was paying for the pink BLOCH tin and the idea of what is pictured. I was disappointed the small diagram on how and where to sew the ribbons. It was very small and hard to read, not something a dancer could lay out and look at and use, it's two inches by two inches and the kind of paper that curls in moist air (like what you find in a dance studio). It was sort of the only reason I selected this because the tin and diagram give it a gift feel and made it nice for a newly on pointe dancer. I will keep the tin, add needles, get a small spool of thread that fits the tin, keep the ribbons and order a few more, recreate the diagram larger and laminate it, and refill the box with actual items that will hold up, are useful for more than one use, and make it something a functional dancer can use. So I am not happy with it because of what all I need to do to make it what I thought it would sort of be, but it has the basic stuff I need to make it a nice gift so it wasn't a total loss, hence why I did not return it. Also, the small seam ripper is the right scale and will be useful. I wouldn't buy it again, but depending on what you are looking for it might work. It would be a nice stocking stuffer or add-on gift for an established dancer who already has her (or his, a few guys are experimenting with pointe now as well) process for prepping shoes, once customized the size is good for pitching in a bag and the tin is tight enough it won't fall open in a bag that gets hauled all over.

Loved having everything in one place to sew ribbons on her ballet shoes. My 11 year old daughter did it by herself. Great kit.

I LOVE this pointe shoe kit I get it every time I get new shoes It only has one use but has everything you need for one pair. DO NOT get if you go through shoes often (unless you want to I would lol) personally I don’t but if you do

I thought it was bigger!!
The kit only comes with enough supplies for one pair of pointe shoes. I've purchased a similar item from Bloch themselves but the container was bigger and had enough supplies for about 4 pairs of shoes. For someone who dances 6 days a week and goes through shoes quick, I wish this would have provided more for the dancer.

Good in a pinch
We were very glad to have this on hand a second time recently -- while the contents are not like what we would normally use on my daughter's pointe shoes, we weren't able to get anything else in on time. Compared with what we normally use, the elastic has a very small amount more 'give' to it and we normally do not use ribbons with stretch. That said, we were so, so glad this was here! It really does the trick in a pinch and it is great that it comes with absolutely everything you might need before a show in the event of shredded ribbons, elastics that suddenly seem to tight, etc.

The box is really cute, it cames with 2 needles and I always keep it in my dance bag, its a must have for dancers
