Sucks like a beast.

Upon arriving home from errands, I located my latest Amazon acquisition. I promptly say on the floor and began an assembly that required minimal effort and very few brain cells. Perfect! Upon plugging this, shall we call her Lilith, (the most powerful succubus in existence) I was emboldened by my new found cleaning powers. Suddenly, within my right hand was the power of suction unknown to this place. Once my carpet was completed, I attached the doodad that vanquishes pet hair from the furniture. Lilith, suddenly took upon the speed of only a toddler running away from their parents with a cell phone in hand, and this began the second stage of magical cleaning. To say I am pleased with Lilith's might is an understatement. She met vicious opponents upon her arrival that go by the names Lily and Mya. One, a corgi in mid shed of her winter floof and the second, a senior cat whose only jobs in life are shedding and attacking feet. Lilith met Her foes on battle grounds of mixed materials carpet, microsuede, luxury vinyl flooring, upholstery, stairs, and she annihilated their existence. There will be many battles ahead and I'm sure Lilith will continue to meet her enemy known as pet hair head on. Enjoy the photo above of one who will continue to provide the supply food Lilith's never ending hunger for pet hair.

Great for long pet hair.

I bought a Shark upright vacuum that had Pet in the name. Not sure what pets they tested it on but I'm guessing like turtles and snakes because my dogs hair instantly wrapped itself around the roller brush from end to end like it was designed to do that. Couldn't even finish one use before I had to cut the hair off and literally comb it out of each and every brush tuft on the roller. Back it went! I searched smeo more and read the descriptions and reviews a little more carefully and decided on this Bissel. It was $100 more than the Shark but was designed specifically to not wrap hair around the roller so I bought it. Very nice vacuum. It's very well built and everything has a nice quality feel to it. The canister pops off easily and empties easily without having to reach in and pull stuff out. The hose wand also pops on and off easily with the push of a button and the mechanism that holds the wand in place is sturdy which is important with these type of designs as the wand is also the handle so it takes a lot of abuse when using and lifting it and carrying it around. And speaking of carrying it. It's a high quality vacuum but that quality makes it heavy. It can be pretty tiring on stairs. It has great maneuverability as it swivels and seems to have pretty good suction. Gets a lot of really fine dirt out of my carpets that my old vacuum seemed to be missing. And I'm happy to say. Not a bit of dog hair on the roller brush. It all ends up in the canister and it does a good job of getting it off the carpet. Although with long pet hair getting it up is not the issue. Getting it through the vacuum without catching and wrapping on anything and everything is the issue and this vacuum handles it very well. It has a nice head light that works pretty well. The turbo brush tool is the only one I've used so far that actually works and keeps the little brush spinning as you use it. Most stall out if you put even the lightest pressure on them. This one you can use with normal pressure and it just works. The other brush tool has some funky course bristles that make it more like a scrubber and less like a brush. The crevice tool has an LED light in the end that comes on when you attach it. Kind of cool but it has a battery in it that takes up about half the diameter of the tube so this cuts down on the flow. So they made the suction end smaller to match. It works but I'd rather had a normal crevice tool. Also the battery inside the tube means it only fits on it's storage post in one direction so it's fiddly to put away until you remember which direction it has to face. More gimmick than useful. The auto cord retract is nice. This is my vacuum for my man cave area but my wife always steals my vacuums since the rest of the house is central vac and she doesn't always feel like hauling out the big hose and stuff. Fine with me but she NEVER winds the cord back up...or returns it for that mater. I usually find it somewhere in the house with the cord draped over it in tangles. At least with this one so far she pushes the button and lets the cord put itself away...but I still have to go and find it. If you can live with the weight and need a vacuum that can handle long pet hair this is a good choice. It works as advertised is very well built and hopefully that quality will give it a long life worth the price.

I had a Dyson for 15 years, was satisfied with it, about this Bissell, it's a great machine so far light easy to handle ???? The Dyson was heavy and awkward, it did a good job. The Bissell accessories stink! There's no floor brush to underneath beds and furniture, so I need to use a dust mop, and the hand brush to dust furniture with it's a rough and cheap I don't trust it on the wood furniture, Wake up Bissell! You have a great sweeper but you're only halfway there you need to improve on your accessories!!!!!!!!!

Great Vacuum!

This vacuum has great suction and perfect for pet owners. We have a domestic long hair cat. Even though I vacuum frequently, this vacuum made me quickly realize my old vacuum wasn't doing the job. After I used the new vacuum, it looked liked we had more than one cat living here. Thank you Bissell! The fabreze filter is a nice touch, too. Only downside, there weren't any assembly or care instructions included. However, I found online at Amazon site.

Honey Stop The Car!!

I purchased this because I have a hairy Border Collie. I am constantly fight the hair wrap on my Shark. This Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is AMAZING.. Erased every hair on my rugs, and no hair wrap on the roller... And the Febreze filter smells delightful. The handheld accessory tool, well heck, I can just vacuum the dog. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!. NO BAGS, just remove the container and push a button over the trash can, falls right out. Highly recommend it.

Worth the purchase

I have been happy with this "BISSELL 27909 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Rewind Vacuum". I had a cheaper version that did not last and returned it to samsclub. I found this on Amazon and decided to purchase and give it a try. It works well, is easy to clean, picks up hair, and can be used on hard surfaces with the 'vac only' mode. I did not realize the handle could be pulled out quickly and I could vac HVAC vents, trim, and other hard to reach spots. I've only had it for a few days so I can't comment on the longevity of the vacuum but I can it has been a good purchase so far. One annoying factor is the amount of force it takes for me to move it across the carpet. I have it set to the 'short carpet' setting on medium carpet so some of that is my doing but it has been the hardest vac for me to push out of my limited vacuuming experience. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs. Not once did I notice any hair buildup on the roller - Bravo Bissell!

Love it

I love this vacuum. It's super easy to maneuver and the attachments are very handy. The febreeze filter really does make your house smell good. The suction could be better but for the price I'm very pleased

Great vacuum but a bit on the heavy side.

Great on dog hair. The crevice tool actually has an LED on it. That was a nice surprise. Very pleased with this so far. I have only had it for a couple of weeks.

Best vacuum ever!

I never thought I’d write a review praising a vacuum but this is so worthy! I have 4 cats so needless to say we see a lot of cat hair around the house. One pass over with this vacuum and my area rugs looks as good as the day we bought them; I haven’t seen them so clean in ages. The carpeting on the stairs, where my cats love to sleep is also restored to its original beauty. Other reviews mentioned it’s not good on bare floors and I do agree but I have a robot vac for that, this one is solely for getting the cat hair out of our carpets and upholstery. I couldn’t be happier!

Magic...

That is what my daughter says... only vacuum to get about 2 years of cat fur off the cat condo. Really brings the pile up on the carpet. Worth every penny. Only slight complaint is hard to navigate on the stairs but do not let this dissuade you from purchasing. Also works on removing the hair 3 of us ladies with long blonde hair (and we shed more than the pets). Really happy with the purchase.

Suction is amazing

I have never had a vacuum with a rotating power brush attachment for doing stairs and upholstery this is amazing had to empty the canister twice it picked up so much
