Works Well But Some Re-Assembly & Customer Service Issues
So far the vacuum itself works pretty great. When I opened the box I was nervous about how small the head is, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I had a Big heavy Hoover that was at least a few years old, and this is picking up tons of stuff the Hoover was no longer picking up (Ie an old rug looks way cleaner). It is definitely pretty light- it’s lighter than a big air mattress up the Stairs (it’s so light it sometimes falls over when I use the hose or things like that). The upholstery tool works pretty well in my couch when i position it the right way. Just a couple main reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: trying to be a diligent new long-haired vacuum owner, after I’d barely used the vacuum I figured I’d be responsible. I followed the manual verbatim in opening the bottom of the vacuum and removing the brush to clean it. All good. However, after cleaning it out, I could NOT get it all the way back in. The brush slid in easily on one side but would NoT go in on the other side no matter what I did. So I could not close the vacuum. There was nothing about this in the manual (it just said to put it back in and close the vacuum). I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s an awkward angle (having the vacuum upside down on the floor), or if I wasn’t pressing the right way or what. I tried to call customer service but was not catching them at the right times. So I sent a message on their site (Dirt Devil). I want to say it took them at least a day to get back to me. I just asked whether there was some trick or easy fix I was overlooking, and if not if there was somewhere I would be able to take it in person or if I’d have to mail it back. When they eventually got back to me, they replied “Please send your full name, physical mailing address (include apt/suite/bldg), model/mfg code and a copy of your purchase receipt. Once your receipt has been verified you will be advised of the next step.” Even though I had already taken the trouble to include the exact vacuum codes in their inquiry form. I am not happy that they would not just answer a simple question without demanding a receipt, etc. Luckily with the vacuum on my car backseat, my coworker was able to get the brushroll back in and close the vacuum eventually. However, I am going to do my best to never take the brush all the way out again, and just clean it without taking the vacuum apart (even though I had followed the instructions to do so exactly) The dusting tool works ok if you position it right, but since the hole is in the middle of the tool, I found it awkward to use when I tried to clean my entertainment center and side table. More efficient to just use a duster or swiffer pad I think. (Though I may use it on the top of my fridge again)

Pretty decent overall, but has some quirks...
So far, I'm pretty happy with this vacuum cleaner overall. My home is fairly small, so I like its somewhat diminutive size. I don't need a gigantic upright vac, so this one is right-sized and easy to tuck away and store. It's like a combination between a stick vac and a full-fledged upright. Small-ish size and still has great suction. My floors are a mix of area rugs and hardwood. However, I definitely think this vacuum could benefit from having a height adjustment. It struggles to vacuum the high pile shag area rug in my living room. It's a wrestling match that pits man against machine and one that I am determined to win. Fortunately, at 5x7, my area rug isn't that big. I do like that the brush motor shuts off when you move the machine to the upright position. I also like the ability to shut the brush motor off separately from the rest of the machine when vacuuming hard surfaces. It actually picks up the dirt rather than throwing it around. I also like the easy maintenance of emptying and cleaning the dust canister and filters. Leaving it parked it in a freestanding, upright position is an "iffy" proposition at best. It seems to be a bit top-heavy. It's a precarious balance and it doesn't always stand up on its own very well. It's better behaved on a hard surface, but I've taken to leaning it up against a wall of piece of furniture just in case. I find myself wishing that the removable wand was adjustable for use in closer quarters. As designed, it becomes awkward and unwieldy with the combined crevice tool/dusting brush attached, but it mostly works. That said, the crevice tool/dusting brush combo is also somewhat less than effective due to a design that causes some loss of suction. It may not have the snob appeal of some fancier vacuum cleaners, but at this price point, I can't really find a lot to complain about either. It's a compromise I can live with without breaking the bank.

Mostly impressed
Update after 3 months: I really thought I was getting a hang of all of its quirks, seemed like all was well. One day the brush stopped spinning. I tried troubleshooting from YouTube and nothing worked. I contacted Dirt Devil who said its a faulty brush roller and that is not covered under warranty. They also had none in stock for me to buy from them, but I could buy one online if I wanted. I looked them up and it's over 1/2 the price of the vacuum, and I'm not even sure that's the problem. They did offer me 20% off of another vacuum, but I didn't want to spend over $100 again to be in the same boat. Bumping rating down to 2 stars, I'll give them credit as it was great while it lasted, and who knows, maybe I just have mutant carpet in the 1 room I used it in ????‍♀️ I've had this vacuum a little over a week now, I only have carpet in one room, a few area rugs, the rest of the house is hardwood. The suction in this thing is amazing, so good in fact it sucked up bits of string I didn't even see on the ground! The first time I vacuumed, the spinner got stuck and I realized there was some string wrapped around it. I got it all out, it began spinning again. All good, however, vacuuming again, the same thing happens with hair. Each time I use it, I now expect to have to turn it over and manually remove all the hair so it will spin again. It's not the end of the world, but my last vacuum (an antique Kirby I lost to my divorce - RIP) never had this issue, so this is new to me. The hand attachment for furniture is about useless as the hair issue is 10x worse with this, and harder to fish the hair out between all the little plastic pieces. Overall, it works, just feels like a bit too much manual effort for the price point.

Ready to use.
Ready and easy to us. No assembly required like previously version “dirt devil”. But no alignment mark if you want put dirt container back to machine. I put a paper mark label and that’s all. Happy customer.

Great vacuum
Works great light weight, turns nice. Does have a small canister so you have to dump very frequently.
