This is not bad
I use this to clean rusty auto hardware and fasteners. It works great with the media from harbor freight. Seems like it's a good deal at least for my auto usage application.

Good tumbler but the bowl separated after a days use.
The media could not be loaded. Could use a better bowl. The bowl feels thin and cheap. It started coming apart a day after running it. Tapped it together. The lid feels thin and cheap as well. Did replace the knob for the lid and cut down the all thread. Does a good job with rocks. Good for the money.

Appears to be great value
The high capacity for the price makes this a good value if it lasts. Mine is only a short term review as I've only run it a few hours so far. First, I would caution this tumbler is not suitable for brass contaminated by lead-styphnate primers. You will be shaking the dust of lead salts into the air you breathe in your work space and when you dump or sift the media. There is nothing that can make this work that is worth the risk to your health. I use mine with brass shot with heavy-metal-free aluminum/bismith-oxide primers. I also decap and use a different wet tumbler first to clean the brass without making dust. I suggest if you shoot lead-styphnate primers that you at least deprime and wet tumble them before using this dry media tumbler. I use this dry media tumbler with corn-cob media to polish and "wax" cases with a synthetic polymer additive (like Nu Finish or Meguiars). Some people advise against the use of additives for critical defensive or duty ammo because of the uncertainty about whether it affects reliable ignition. I would suggest factory ammo is an even safer bet. Dry media tumbling also ensures the cases are dry after wet tumbling. The dry media isn't a good way to dry wet brass, but it can ensure that any water not removed by air drying is absorbed. Now to this Lyman in particular, it has a capacity greater than most similar tumblers and at a price under three-quarters of a hundred dollars it's a lot of capacity for the price. Other high capacity tumblers are the Dillon and the Thumlers UV-18, both of which cost several times more. Either of those tumblers might be expected to last 15 or 20 years and if you're sure that's what you'll be using 15 years from now, they might be a better choice. If I had to buy a second or third Lyman Pro Magnum in that time frame, I'd still have spent less, and if I decide 5 years from now that I really need a UV-45 or larger tumbler, I won't have to try to sell the smaller one. The low price is why I didn't buy the "Auto-Flo" version, which is as much as sixty dollars more. It's fast and easy to dump this ligtweight Pro Magnum upside down and the media through my separator into a 5 gallon bucket. The tumbler is remarkable quiet despite the hard plastic bowl. I found the lid is not very rigid and therefore it's ill-fitting. The wing-nut on threaded-rod closure is also tedious. It takes a lot of nut-spinning to get it on and off.

Best unit for the money
The media could not be loaded. I’ve worn out one of just about every unit out there and Hornady was the top machine until their quality slipped. Hopefully they’ll get enough feedback to get their quality control back up to par. But in the meantime this Lyman is a great machine for the money. If you’re going to run it really hard be prepared to replace it, but it’s a good machine for the price. It performs with the high dollar units, just doesn’t last as long. Some say it runs hot or burns up motors… read the manual, do not place on carpet or cover it with anything. The fan needs to draw air from the bottom. Adding holes in the base helps. A concrete floor is ideal because concrete is usually cooler. Mine has run in scorching Texas heat with a fan on it at night for weeks. 10’s of thousands of cases cleaned beautifully.

Wrong sized threaded rod or wing nuts!
The threaded rod is too small for the nuts included. I will have to go to the local hardware store to get a wider threaded rod. I will update this review after I'm able to actually use it.

Easy to use. Does a great job. ????
Product does a good job. Had to enlarge the holes in the tub and lid a bit. From the factory they were a might tight. Very easy fix. All in all I am well satisfied. Would buy from them again.very easy to use. I polish a 100 or so peices at a time no problem.

Great tumbler!

It works.
This is a good tumbler for brass cleaning, what else is there to say. Only time will tell if it lasts longer than the 5 years or so that a previously-purchased brand of tumbler was good for.

Good value
Good value. It is 70watts, so with heavier medium and parts, it wasnt doing too much. But for nuts and bolts with light medium it did just fine.

Great Tu bl
Great Tumbler. You can ram 250-300 223 in it and let it tumble for few hours with crushed corn cob and they turn out great.
