Awesome Stuff

This braid is great. It’s more white than clear, but it doesn’t fade. I’ve had this on another setup for a year and liked it, so I got more to add to another rod. It feels like I can cast for miles with something as small as a rooster tail.

Excellent!

Always been a power pro guy. But I couldn’t find any white for an upcoming trip. Had this available, next day. Amazing line! I’ve got a new go-to braid now… proof is in the pic. Castability is excellent, and held up well on some big fish around structure.

Nice braid

After using white braided line on a trip to the Florida Everglades, I decided to try it upon returning home. Bought this because of the price and also because Berkeley products are reliable. Found this line to be very subtle and easy casting. I think you can even see it better than yellow line when it comes to fishing jigs which is what I primarily like to do. Highly recommend this line if visibility is what you’re looking for. I tie a 5 or 6 foot fluorocarbon leader to the end and I’m good to go.

Little pricey but you can fish with confidence

While the x9 braid I got is rated at 40 lb, its listed that its max break is 59 lbs. I tied the braid to an 80 lb copolymer leader with a 10 turn FG knot. On the leader I made a Kreh loop knot. I looped the braid end on a metal post a few times to simulate a reel and pulled on the loop with a spring scale to simulate a fish. The setup broke at the FG knot (its supposed to) within the turns in the knot @42 lbs (71 % of 59 pounds). There are some knot tests that rate FG knots at 80% of max break. Oh well. It broke beyond its stated rating. Good stuff. I would think the weak part of the reel, rod, and line setup now is the rod, if one is not careful.

I'm Hooked

I bought this braid for 2 of my rigs. I bought 50lb and 20lb. This braid is great. Its very sensitive. Feeling bites is easy with this stuff. Slow dragging a worm, I was feeling bluegill nip the tails easily. You can feel the bottom, mud, rocks, grass, sticks. The other thing I love is the abrasion resistance. Pulling a jig through cedar piles and manmade fish habitat, I never have had this line fray. Knot tying is perfect. It holds great if you pair it with a similar diameter of floro for a leader. Casting is great and smooth. The only time I had this line dig in on itself was on a big bass in heavy cover that I had to bulldog out. I would highly recommend this braid, especially if your looking for line for a heavy cover rig. Well worth the price.

Great casting with no kinking

I'm very pleased with this line. I have generally had dissapointing experiences with braid lines but this is different. With 15 pound line freshly spooled on, I was able to cast an almost overfilled reel with no issues. It flows of smoothly for long casts. When spooling spinning reel, remember to lay spool flat so line rolls of spool clockwise (same direction as being spooled on reel). Highly recommended!

Best braided wire for casting & smoothness

Very slick wire, casts and reels very smoothly. Item was as described. Resistance to abrasion is poor but as you would expect wire braided. Paid approximately the same price as local shop.
