Value for the money, please read

Mediums size trunk purchased in the warehouse. Trunk came ALMOST fully assembled. Due to defect, the side and lid were not attached. If you buy a full price, I’m not sure if this trunk is fully assembled. I am giving 5 stars because of the price and look. I purchased in the warehouse for a steal, but the trunk had issues: -The top was not attached, but had been -the side was also not attached, but had been I nailed the side and top (I need more nails for the side) I read the reviews prior to purchase: THE NOISE, is a bracket that holds the lid in place so it doesn’t slam down. When you open or close it clicks, that’s it. THE WOOD, is authentic so there will be some flaws, that’s what makes it nice THE SMELL, mine did not have a smell. I do believe it was put together poorly, and you may need to reinforce with common household nails. OVERALL, descent size trunk with aged look, value for the money if you can get in the warehouse. *I use the trunk for storage of my supplies and staging pics on top. The little things pic on trunk are florals and mine so please disregard*

Nice trunk, but...

This is a nice trunk, BUT it was definitely more of a green tint than a true white wash finish as the description states. That is why I gave it 4 stars. When it arrived I knew that it would not go with my decor due to the green tint, but it was the perfect size for the space I needed it for, so I decided it was worth keeping. I did a quick dry brush finish with chalk paint (took 10 minutes) and I love it! It is now a true white wash finish with grey undertones. I do not have a splinter issue as I used the top wax coating on the chalk paint, so it is now smooth to the touch. The lid opens and closes well. It stays open and no issues with smashed fingers. Good for the price. Also, the smell that other reviewers mentioned is a pine smell.

Very nice!

I bought this trunk for my Mom who is redecorating her bedroom with a rustic farmhouse vibe. This trunk worked perfectly with her theme. When this trunk arrived I was very surprised at how light weight the box was. It made me very nervous to open it. I was pleasantly surprised however. It was a good size and looked EXACTLY like the pictures. Nothing was scratched, damaged or anything. It was perfect. The one thing I was disappointed about is that the whole trunk is made of real wood EXCEPT the back. The back is some sort of hd or md fiber board similar to hard backing board. But the hinges seem to be sturdy and attached to it well so I can't complain too much. All in all I like it very much!

Just what I needed

This was exactly what I needed. It was sturdier and lighter than I imagined and fits perfectly in our small entryway to hold a bag of salt for winter and a bag of cat litter year round. Makes our entry way much more organized and attractive. We bought a second one we plan to alter and make into a litter box cover. It will take some major alterations but will look great. There was an odor when they arrived but leaving them open fir several days and spraying with an enzyme freshener helped to dissipate it. Seemed like a lacquer odor that intensified from being closed up for a long time. BTW the packaging was amazing and very protective.

Poorly constructed. Side fell off first time I moved it.

This crate was used for storage of bird toys. Once it arrived I opened the packaging, placed the crate on the floor next to the bird cage and put some things in it. This was in October of 2020. The crate has been opened about 2 times a month since then. Last week (April 2021) I lifted the crate to move it to another part of the room and the right side detached. There is no more than 10lbs inside of the crate. Nothing was forced into the crate, as bird toys for cockatiels are not particularly large. The side just fell off of the main body of the crate. The nails were about as firmly attached as if they had been nailed into a piece of Styrofoam. The item looked just fine and did what I needed it to as far as storing items attractively, but for it to be so weakly constructed is just unbelievable.

Cheaply made, but the price fits quality, Do not recommend for use around children

The trunk came, on time and packaged in sturdy carton with Styrofoam inserts. Gave it three stars because when removing the trunk from the shipping carton two places chipped the wood on the top. It's cheaply made. I suppose you could say the chips were my fault but the material used to make this trunk is substandard. I purchased this trunk for my sunroom to put my supplies for my plants, to store them neatly and out of view. The finish was supposed to be white wash and it's has more like a green tint. I have painted the trunk the color I wanted so it serves my purpose. All in all it was a good purchase for the price. Three stars for the materiAl it is made from and the color description did not match what was advertised.

Great as a wood box

Got this to keep firewood ready. It will work great. Lid stays up when fully opened but hinge doesn't keep it up at all angles so wouldn't be good around small children. Definitely worth the price. Looks nice. Will keep dirt and creepy crawlies from escaping.

Perfect!

Love this little chest! I purchased this for a cabin to store games in. It’s size (esp. it’s taller height) is perfect. It’s rustic finish and hardware works very well next to the birch logs and river rock fireplace. It’s sturdy enough for a child to sit on or as a resting place for books. I’m delighted with this piece!!

Not too bad...

These wooden trunks are not too bad. As was mentioned in other reviews, the colour does not match the pictures. Instead of being a grey, whitewashed look, they are more brown with a slightly green tint. I was surprised at the light weight of these wooden trunks / crates. Although these trunks / crates look quite strong, the wood is very thin and flimsy. I swear, it if tried, I could probably put my fist through the side of this trunk / crate (and I'm not particularly strong or tough) A person would definitely not want to sit or stand on these trunks / crates. But for my use, these trunks / crates work just fine! ???? And they look pretty nice too.

Don't buy it

It was do poorly put together, there was a huge chip of wood missing from the back, the whole structure was misalignmend, the bottom is falling out. I was so disappointed, I started crying. It was supposed to be a Christmas present for my daughter. I can't give it to her. I'm going to have to find something else. And it was expensive - I expected more.

Beautiful looking chest, but musky moldy smell inside

PRO: This chest is the perfect size (purchased the medium size), and is beautiful looking for our decor. CON: The inside of the chest has an unpleasant musky moldy smell. Not sure if it is a result of how it was stored in the warehouse. I've left it open to "air out"...but the smell just won't go away. The hinges will click loudly even when the lid is shut.
