Doesn't fit all curved front, mustard colored 60B jointers...

This mobile base is very well made and far superior to most of the cheap ones available (for nearly as much money). All three wheels lock well and I have not had any problems of it moving on me during use. It even came completely put together and ready for use. It was only when 3 of us were muscling the jointer on to it that I found the problem that causes me to deduce a star - my Powermatic 60B does not fit in it. I think it was quite generous of me to only reduce it by one star, but I knew Amazon would take it back if I choose to return it (which I didn't since I knew I couldn't get one as good) and the quick fix was pretty easy. To save anyone else this problem, here's what I've figured out: though my 60B (Taiwan mfg) is only a couple years old, it is the type that has the black stripe on the very bottom (on the 3" tall flare/skirt). These models are about 1" deeper (front to back) than the new models. If you look at the new versions of the 60C and 60HH, you'll see the black stripe up above that bottom skirt on the main body. I think Powermatic may have previously made a 60B of this style, which could be why Amazon says it will fit a 60B. Powermatic only references the 60HH and 60C with this base. My older 60B has the same curvature on the front, but is about 16" deep on the far left and far right sides. This mobile base is 15" at these points. As a solution, I just filled the base with some blocks of wood and sat the jointer on top (using lag bolts for anchoring the jointer to the wood). It frankly works fine and I may never get around to my permanent plan of cutting off the side rectangular tubings and welding in new, longer ones.

Not the 'Gold Standard'

Plusses: The base looks good for the way it matches the contour of the jointer base, and it maneuvers well on a clean floor. Minuses: It barely has a whisper of paint on it. It advertises metal wheels - they are plastic. The wheel locking knobs are fragile, and one of mine was already broken. The complaints about the springy front wheel are true - I added height-adjustable feet on that end to stabilize it when not moving. This base will serve the purpose, but it is a poor representation of what Powermatic is supposed to be.

Works just fine

I bought this mobile base for the Model 60HH Powermatic jointer. It arrived in fine condition by UPS - it's one piece in a relatively large box - no assembly required. The jointer fits into it well. I only wish that the wheel locks on the two non-turning wheels were something better than bolts with star knobs on them which turn into the wheel face (and one of the bolt holes wasn't tapped too great and when combined with the paint on the threads makes it pretty tough to turn). Check your wheel locks

The handle on the wheel locks arrived broken. The base moves the jointer easily.

Poor finish and packaging.

Functionally fine. Fits the planers curved front well. knobs to lock rear wheels is somewhat dissapointing over some type of locking caster as used on the pivoting wheel. I would have expected the part to have been powder coated, but it appears to have been spray painted by an amateur. The part has lots of debris, welding splatter, and drip marks in the finish. The part did not have any protective packaging in the box and the wheels had ripped the box at some point before it arrived. Lack of proper packaging left the part scratched to bare metal along all the sides and corners from be able to move around in the box. One of the lock knobs had also broken off where it was allowed to penetrate the box. I ended up sanding it down and painting it myself as returning it and ordering another would have resulted in the same issues due to the poor packaging. Overall not the quallity of finish and proper packaging I would have expected from a company like Powermatic.

Frame okay, wheels and locks cheap

The frame is pretty decent and fit my 60hh just fine. However the wheel locking mechanism is plain cheap. I would expect better on harbor freight gear. The rear wheels lock by screwing a bolt into the wheels. The bolt heads have a cheap and brittle plastic cap. Mine arrived broken, but not going to go to the pain of returning for this. If you don’t move your machines regularly, this base might be fine. If however you are moving them regularly I would suggest shopping around for something else, or plan on replacing the wheel locking mechanism.

This is for Model 60C and 60HH

Received today and it’s the perfect fit for my Model 60HH Jointer. Not sure why the product listing states 60B. Part 2042376 is definitely the base for Models 60C and 60HH. Only complaint is the design. The two small wheels on the right side are stable. However, the left side has just one wheel and it’s mounted on a metal bracket that flexes under the 400 pound weight of the jointer. I don’t think it will break but the subtle bounce is annoying when operating the jointer. The base still serves the purpose of making the jointer easy to move around but I will likely shore up the corners with some wood blocks when I’m using the machine. I would have designed the base with four wheels mounted directly to the solid frame.

works, but not strong enough for anything but smallest boards

it wobbles under just about any load, making it impossible to adjust infeed/outfeed roller heights. Like other purchasers, I have to put wooden blocks under it so the jointer doesn't tilt when 6ft 2x6is placed on it. Can this be worked around? Sure - but then I'm spending time working around stuff rather than doing what I want to do - joint boards, build furniture
