Doesn't feel like it will last.

Cord quality is very low, it feels less like the coiled phone line you expect and more like a toy in that when stretched, it doesn't return. It sort of slowly regains it's original shape. Sound quality is not very good. The clip rotates 360 which makes mounting easy, but keeping it in places is challenging.

Great mic for the price!

First, it is not as pictured in the main photos. However, one of our fellow Amazoners supplied us with a couple of pictures of the actual item. I prefer the older style , but the new one has features that the other didn't. Outside of the general styling changes are the additions of a red transmit LED and a covered earphone jack. I think its a fair trade off. With that said...... most speaker/mic cost at a minumum $45, so i really wasn't sure what to expect. Because my Baofeng UV-5R+ was of very good quality. I took a chance. I'm glad i did. The build quality is very good for the price. The cord is fairly heavy duty and plugs into the radio without a problem. The cord itself is vey stiff, so i would suggest excercising (stretching) the cord for a bit before you use it so it won't put too much pressure on the stress points. The clip on the back is sturdy, but a little short for my taste, and the ratcheting on the clip is a bit loose. The mic has an ear jac. I haven't tried it yet, but should come in handy. The only problem is that the earphone cover is plastic and molded directly to the mic stress reliever. So if you use the ear jack you may not be able to plug the cover back in. The speaker is plenty loud and clear with litte to no distortion. The mic transmits fine but is a bit directional, but that is on purpose. I'm not a big fan of the PTT (push to talk) button. It works via a heavy and loud click. Sounds like a childs toy, but it really does feel solid and should last...just annoying and surely not stealthy..LOL. I would recomend that anyone with a compatible Baofeng radio buy one of these. They are well worth the money and work just great. the only reason i didn't give five stars is because nothing is perfect....Hope this helped

You get what you pay for. Don't expect high performance from this speaker/mic

Purchased for my UV-5Ric and while it's light weight and easy to use, as many other reviews warned, the speaker is weak and muffled on the low end compared to the HT speaker and the microphone works, but has less gain and far more of a tinny sounds to the TX. The swivel clip works nice and the cord is robust for normal use. I don't mind the clicky-ness of the mic either. Not sure I'd recommend, but it works. Probably better off with the BTECH QHM22 Platinum series.

Handy to have instead of uncliping the radio

I found if there's any back ground noise and you have the volume turned all the way up it gets a bit fuzzy but it might just be mine so I don't do that other than that it's great.

BAOFENG UV-5R Speaker Mic

Very good product. The mic arrived a day earlier than expected and to me that's a plus for customer service. The mic works just as described. The mic feels durable like it will last for quite a while. The reception audio on the mic is better than the radio speaker and the tone is good. People I've talked to with this mic say it sounds clearer than the built in mic on the transceiver. I plan to buy a second one for my Olympia P-324.

Not the best quality for the price.

The receiving sound/voices are clear But my transmitting g voice is muffled at the other end. Tryed everything? Held the mic close, far away. Spoke loud, soft. Always muffled. Not good, not pleased at all.
