Does have white cast
I am fair skinned with mild rosacea/ sensitive skin and planned to wear this under makeup (I wear a light weight foundation) and it made my usually sheer makeup look a bit thick. It definitely gave me a white cast. The scent isn’t strong in my opinion and I’m told I have a sensitive nose.

Finally something my skin doesn’t react to!!!
I know this isn’t the most popular sunblock out there, but I’m so glad I found it. I have tried many, many brands, and I even bought Babo once before, used it, wasn’t all that impressed, and went back to trying some of the same things from before and others that were new to me. I’ve tried ones recommended by my dermatologist. There are the typical ones that are supposed to work for sensitive skin. I’ve tried Neutrogena (several formulas), Blue Lizard, Aveena, Mary Kay, No Name for Faces, Vanicream, CeraVe, and more. I would go back to Babo every so often, but I’m going to be honest, that I didn’t care for the smell, and I didn’t like the way it applied. It’s not horrible, but it can take some effort to get it to blend in. I’m in my 60s, and I was having an awful, really awful time with my skin constantly breaking out. It was especially bad on my nose. Sometimes I had little red bumps that were watery and other times whiteheads. I was using a generic retin-a AND a clay mask, which kind of helped, but it never lasted. There were days when I avoided using sunblock, and I would still break out! What I think happened was I wasn’t giving my skin enough time to get over reacting to all the chemicals from the other formulas. CeraVe was the one that seemed to take me over the edge. It gets wonderful reviews, but it made my skin worse than ever. I knew I had less problems in the past when I used Babo, so I decided to give it another try. But this time I stuck with it for awhile, and I didn’t use anything else. Well, I’m here to tell you that my skin has really cleared up. It’s the best it’s been in years. I had one little bump on my nose today, but it’s been weeks since that’s happened. The whiteheads I was constantly fighting along the sides of my nose (right in the crease) have dramatically improved. I’m ecstatic to finally have nice skin again!! Please don’t ever change this formula.

This is not the holy grail sunscreen I'd hoped for!
I found this sunscreen by searching on the Environmental Working Group's sunscreen website. It was one of the only highly rated moisturizer sunscreens above SPF 30. PROS: Environmentally friendly (EWG rating: 2) High Spf Relatively Matte Unoffensive, faint scent Once it's rubbed in it doesn't pill Leaves a minimal white cast Doesn't seem to make my adult acne worse Inexpensive (compared to the brands described below) CONS: Difficult to work with— It can go on clear but you really have to work with it quickly so it is absorbed and goes on even. It tends to want to build up and dry in places which becomes difficult to smooth back out and will just rub off instead. Not a product i'm able to use "on-the-go". I've taken to mixing it with a drop of Josie Maran to make it less temperamental to apply, and that seems to work OK. As a woman in her early 30's that's trying to prevent skin aging I've become obsessed with finding the right physical sunscreen. I've tried Paula's choice tinted SPF 30 (great btw if it matches your tone, but rubs off on clothing), Josie Maran untinted SPF 47 (bulletproof, but really greasy), EltaMD SPF 47 (great texture but expensive and I got burned wearing it on a long walk), LaRoche Posay Mineral SPF 50 tinted (stung my eyes), and they were all horribly rated by the EWG. I do care about the environmental impact, toxicity, but also the cosmetic properties of a sunscreen. I wanted something for every day with 30+ SPF that would protect my skin from aging, nourish it, go on easily, have a matte finish, and would not rub off or leave a white cast. Oh, yeah and not overly expensive. Maybe my expectations were too high!? I've made this work for me but if someone reads this who has truly found a holy grail sunscreen that I describe above, please comment and let me know!

Oily but good for sensitive skin
Too shiny. If I keep wiping the shine off I’m not sure how much sunscreen will be left to protect me. Great for sensitive dry skin. Very gentle and moisturizing

Use with caution.
May irritate skin. I was cutting my hair and had the flaps of skin shown in picture closed as I was doing it, for about an hour. Well, I guess because of the heat generated it caused a chemical reaction and caused initiation that stings. You can see the redness in the picture. Use with caution. I recommend putting the sunblock on, once your out of the sun, wash it off with soap and water. Do not leave it on. I cannot say if it works as a sunblock or if it even moisturizes but wanted to review it immediately due to the irritiation.

Good coverage not greasy but strong smell
I didn’t like the strong floral smell, when items are for sensitive skin I wouldn’t expect such a strong smell. Luckily my daughter doesn’t mind.

Finally found a product that is what it says it is.
My system can't tolerate fragrances or scented products. My face has broken-out with a rash and stung from several sensitive-skin sunscreen products that I've tried, even those "recommended by dermatologists". The rash would last for several days. I read a few reviews for this brand. The ratings were favorable. I checked out the company's website and liked what I read. I decided to take a chance and bought it. I'm glad I did. My skin didn't breakout and it didn't sting. It has a very faint distinctive smell of zinc oxide combined with titanium dioxide but it dissipates quickly. So far, I'm able to tolerate it. It glides on smoothly but that may be because I followed a recommendation in another review to put your moisturizer on first. I wait a few minutes for my skin to absorb it before applying the sunscreen. I can't say if this sunscreen does or doesn't moisturize if used alone. My face looks a little bit pasty at first--I don't use a lot--but after a few minutes I smooth it out and the color is gone. This was another recommendation a read in a review. I'm very happy that I discovered babo Botanicals.

Leaves a cast unfortunately
I purchased this after looking for a sunscreen with minimal toxic ingredients which wouldn't leave a white cast (for context, I am a woman of colour). This product definitely fulfills the first requirement. The ingredients list is very clean, which I'm happy about. However, this product is very thick and most definitely leaves a visible cast, irrespective of how much you rub it in or let it oxidise. Unfortunately, its not the kind of thing that can be hidden if you have dark skin. It also feels quite heavy under make up, hence only 3 stars. I will continue my search for a product which fulfills both requirements.

By far the best mineral sunscreen I've found
After many years of using chemical based sunscreens and my skin starting to react negatively to them I decided to make the switch to Mineral, not as easy as i thought. I've tried about 9,999,999 different ones and spent quite a lot in doing so. To save anyone else going through the absolute minefield of products and reviews i am writing this one for other people. My skin is quite sensitive and prone to redness, I work outside in the summer heat and need a sunscreen that is effective with decent SPF, water and sweat proof that I don't have to reapply every ten seconds. I found every product has mixed reviews but if you are similar to me then take a chance on this one. It's not greasy, it's not too drying, it's effective, seems quite sweat resistent, I've not tested it with water though but quotes 80 mins. It isnt as thick as most others especially given that it's factor 40, it almost goes on like the higher spf chemicals. With regards the dreaded white cast, it's remarkably almost non existent and what is evident disappears after about half an hour. In addition it really helps to hide any redness and even colour. The worst thing is the smell, though not entirely unpleasant and far more preferable than the rotten coconut smell that I've found/suffered in others, it does smell amost a bit kind of chemical, but that too dissipates after around 30 mins. It's also quite reasonably priced. This is now my every day facial sunscreen.

It's tiny, and caused bad rash
I was so excited for this, as I had spent ages searching for safer suncream without nasty chemicals. It was expensive but worth while I thought ...when it arrived it was tiny! It fits in the palm of my hand! Nevermind I figured if it works...I put it on my face and neck one sunny day...and an hour later I came out in an awfull rash all over my face, lumps and itchy all over my neck. I have no idea though what I reacting too though, because as far as I know I have no allergies other than latex, and I haven't ever reacted to any other creams/ lotions/ suncream, ingredients listed. So in my case it's no good! I maybe a one off though...

The BEST mineral sunscreen I have found
Other mineral sunscreens left my face ghostly white (and I am South Asian, so I have dark skin). I had almost given up hope on mineral sunscreens and feared that I may have to resort to chemical offerings. However, I am SO GLAD I found this one. It sinks in wonderfully, leaving a nice glow (not a cast). And a little goes a very long way. This is my go-to sunscreen now.

Glad I Found This
I have tried so many face sunscreens that i had almost given up. I have very sensitive skin and can never have sun cream near my eyes without them streaming and burning. I have been able to use this cream without any reaction at all even around the eyes. I've been looking for a mineral cream with safe ingredients, this one is perfect. It does leave a white cast but it quickly vanishes, it also becomes invisible with a small amount of concealer. Although the tube is fairly small a little goes along way. This is now one of my favourite face sunscreens.
