Great harness
Love this harness. We have been struggling to find a good sturdy harness for our dog. She is a strong pit lab mix. Walks are much better with this harness. We get random compliments from strangers about our dog because she is a very pretty mix. Now we compliments on the harness. It’s easy to put on and is a great fit. I would recommend.

Great harness but sizing charts NOT accurate for all dogs.
I carefully measured and weighed my dog to be sure I ordered the correct size in this harness. Basset Hounds are notoriously hard to fit in harnesses because of their build, but I figured I couldn't go wrong by following the size recommendations provided by the manufacturer. The medium size range says "Girth 22-26" and Weight 30-50lb." When the harness arrived, I opened the adjustable parts all the way out, but it was still wayyy too tight on our dog. She has a girth of 24" and she weighs 40lb. She is not a chunky Basset, much more slender than some. Her measurements and weight put her solidly in the "Medium" size, but this harness is a long way from fitting her properly. With everything adjusted out as far as it would go, if I crammed her into it, she couldn't even walk properly because the bands were jammed up under her front legs (do dogs have armpits?) so badly. It is so far off that I wondered if it had been mislabeled. Now, on the positive side, it is a beautifully made harness. Seems strong and sturdy and the chest piece is nicely lined with a soft fleece covering on the inside. Even though it was too small, I could see that it would be easy to get her into it (with the proper size) and not complicated as some harnesses are. I was so disappointed, but I am re-ordering a size larger. I'm hoping it will fit her properly because as I said, the quality of the harness looks good in every other way. UPDATE: After ordering the next larger size, I am disappointed again. The sizing guides for these harnesses are just not accurate. The harness I now have for her, even adjusted ALL THE WAY in, is still a few inches too big for her. She can sort of wear it, though the straps around her front legs are loose and sometimes want to get caught on the "elbow" joint of her leg. It's not worth returning the harness AGAIN. I may try to take it apart and manually remove a couple inches from the those straps, then re-sew it to make it fit her properly. Beautifully made harness. Just wish it fit properly. I am reducing my review from 4 stars to 3.

Great Quality, Effective Design, Wonderful Harness
So I've bought at least 10 harnesses in these last few months. Nothing has really worked, or it would tear shortly after, or it was just frustrating as hell to put it on. I have two 90 lbs Labs that I am training as Service Dogs btw. I at first only purchased one to try. But, after getting this harness, I was so happy with the quality (straps are thick, strong, well sewn together. Plastic buckles are large, sturdy, thick plastic. The metal hoops are welded, definitely not going anywhere); and the ease of use (it literally just slips over their head, the padded chest portion is loose & quickly connects the 2 buckles to the top. Voila! Done!). But most importantly, this harness is effective. The design on the top will slightly tighten if they try to pull, and as soon as my Labs feel that pressure, they'll correct their speed of walking by slowing down or stopping & waiting for me. If they need a correction, a quick pop of the leash redirects their attention back to me. I immediately sent all the other harnesses back to Amazon, kept this one & ordered another one. I am now a Very Happy customer of 2 of these harnesses & Highly recommend this product!

Sizing is very imporant (good overall)
I have an Airedale she is a little small for the breed but with in the listed spec for the large harness. It is just fitting her at its smallest "setting". So if I need to replace it I will go one size down. I like how it looks and love how easy it is to get on and off. snap snap and done. Off is even easier than on. I ready another review where they said that it hung down and hit the front legs. I also saw this. I looked at the harness and decided it was because it was just a little too big for my dog. and that caused the top connections to the neck loop to shift down the strap. Hard to explain but I took some Duck tape as an experiment and tapped it so that the straps could not fall. This solved the issue. I want to use a small button to solve it for good but have not gotten to doing that yet. Might just get a smaller size and use this one on my bigger dog.

Some pulling, but NO chafing!
Fit - Purchased size Large for my two 50-55 lb mutts (their necks are 14 and 16" and their chests are 28" and 27"). Took a couple of tries to adjust the straps correctly (fit using the "2 finger" rule - the neck fits like a normal collar, the armpit straps seem like they may be too loose but they work). Pulling - true confessions, this doesn't seem to make a discernible difference in the amount of pulling, (my fault, we run in places where we need to keep a narrow profile so I've trained them to run side by side directly in front of me and while they keep to my pace *mostly* there is usually at least a little pulling at the start). But when there is the occasional lunge (squirrel!) the harness does seem to make it easier to stop them. Chafing - NONE! Today we ran 13 miles and I checked them along the way and at the end, not a hot spot to be found. Since we're distance runners this was critical and these harnesses passed the test with flying colors. Other - well made, sturdy construction, seem worth the price.

Love these!
Great harness for mild pullers or dogs that lag. Isn't helpful for strong pullers, as they will just simply pull through it. I appreciate the craftsman ship of the harness and my only complaint is sizing. I really wish there was a size in between medium and large. The small is really an xsmall, the medium fits small dogs and the large fits large dogs. This means there isn't really a size for actual medium dogs! I am a dog trainer and try these on many many dogs. My dog is a 43 lb border collie. She wears the large, but it is loose on her. She can't walk in the medium! The large is so loose that she could slip a foot out when it isn't in "active" use and tightening. I tied a knot in one side to help with the problem. If I knew how to sew, I would probably cut and stitch it for a better fit.

Disappointed
The straps don’t stay in place, rendering the item useless. For the $40.00 paid, I’m extremely disappointed. Even more so because the product itself seems very well made.
