Good bye cringe inducing noisy vacuum, hello James
I've become sort of in love with this vacuum! I've only ever had lower priced vacuums, but I have live in handicapped family members who have sensory issues, noisy machines being very problematic. Due to issues, I've just ended up vacuuming less and less because of inevitable tantrums. However, I want a cleaner home! I decided to look into the possibility of a quieter vacuum and I was willing to accept various attributes if it was reasonably priced and actually quiet, with the theory that I could reduce the stress of this somewhat small, yet regular occurring issue in our lives. I read "best of lists" and tons of reviews and basically educated myself on vacuum noise. Many typical vacuums have operating volume of 70-80+ decibels and many vacuums advertised to be quiet can be ~65db. This Nacecare James is advertised to be high 40s db!! The $260 price tag feels super expensive to me, but I reasoned that if it truly made a difference, it would be worth it. Also, I found out that this company and this line of vacuums are known for quality and lasting a long time, so I finally took the chance and ordered it. When I first tried it, it was funny, I thought, okay still sounds like a vacuum, but then I sequentially turned this on then my other vacuum and was blown away at how obnoxiously loud the other one was! James, or little Brit blue we've affectionately nicknamed it, has a much more gentle hum to it, almost sounds like someone vacuuming in another room or something. Although it still makes decent noise, the tone is so much easier on the ears compared to typical vacuum that actually induces a slight cringe. And, if you vacuum in another room with door slightly closed, now its really quiet to others in the home. The true test, however, is that it doesnt upset my disabled family members! What a gift this has turned out to be, I really can't fully describe. In addition, you can talk to someone while using James, where as before I'd have to turn vacuum off to say more than yes/no. Now, about vacuum itself, it was developed intended for hardwood floors, but I find it completely acceptable on carpet, as well. It sucks so well, the carpet lifts slightly, which makes me feel like I'm really getting stuff better than before. I dont love that I need to buy vacuum bags, but I do like that once I suck it up, it's not coming back :). The overall set up of canister and long hose need a bit of room to operate, I feel like I've had to adjust a little but my approach to vacuuming to work with this unit, but once I did, I'm totally satisfied with it. I like that the tube screws on and feels strongly attached so that I can tug it along as I vacuum. The cord is super long and I can go through multiple rooms on one plug. I'm also happy that the cheaper in the series was blue, because I didnt really want a bright red vacuum, for example. The smile and face is optional, but to be honest, makes me smile, and it's like the vacuum is happy to help do the job, Haha. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this vacuum and purchasing with this company and through Amazon. It's not perfect, but over-all a balanced attribute vacuum with sound being it's best trait!!!! Thank you so much for improving mine and my family's life.

Handsome quiet dutifull little guy without a lot of flexibility!
I owned an electrolux canister ultra quiet vacuum for the past 5 years which had served me well and finally died as soon as I used the second to last bag, lol. I was looking for a similar vacuum but a different one because the electrolux was poorly made with plastic pieces that broke within a month or two causing the handle to twist around while vacuuming (really annoying but it was such a good worker that I dealt with that for years). So that said after researching a couple days here on amazon I decided on this one. First off, this vacuum does what it's supposed to do which is vacuum very well. I have 4 dogs which shed like crazy all year long (FL), fortunately my house has tile and some laminate flooring. It picks up everything without pushing it around (sometimes I do have to tilt the floor part a bit to get bigger or slicker (pony beads etc) vacuumed up). It is also very quiet which is what I was looking for as to not freak out my dogs and not be completely deaf after using it. I will make a list of the pros and cons of this vacuum IMHO: Pros: 1) It picks up everything it's supposed to pick up. I have not tried it on carpet since I don't have any, but it does a good job vacuuming several door mats I have. 2) It's reasonably quiet (not as quiet as the electrolux but definitely not loud by any means. 3) It has a very long cord (but no auto wind) 4) It is a good looking little dude, cheery yellow with a happy face (which you do not have to put on, it's a separate part) and it's small so easy to store. Cons: 1) You have to manually put the cord on top of the vacuum, you can't just push a button to auto rewind it. The reason is I think that it has a very long cord which trumps the manual rewind issue. It's nice not to have to plug and unplug it continuously. 2) It doesn't maneuver really good, it gets stuck on it's on cord and furniture and walls, most likely because it's totally round and not oval. It would have been better to have 4 swivel wheels on this shape vacuum than the steady back wheels. I have to say that's my biggest pet peeve with this guy. 3) The handle and metal hose part do not "click". You have to really shove them into eachother which does not make them "not twist" (which was the one thing on the electrolux that I hated). They do stay together well but once they twist a little it's a hassle to take them apart and redo them straight. Also I'm not sure how well they will continue to stay "tight" for the next couple years (I hope for $200) 4) The attachments do NOT stay on while you vacuum, I just take them off because I don't use them but if you do you will get annoyed (now I don't remember ever owning a vacuum where the attachments "on board" where not a hassle so...) 5) no airhole at the end of the flexible part so when you use it without the metal handle it suctions itself stuck on everything. Really annoying. So everything taken into consideration, I do like this little guy, he's compact, does his job quietly and is handsome. The long cord justifies you having to manually wind it onto his head, but the flexibility and attachments are nothing to brag about and the main reason why I deducted a star. I will see how long James will hold up with the dog hair and decide then if he is worth it to purchase again.

I love James!
Why buy an ugly vacuum cleaner that looks an aerodynamic car part when you can buy a good ol' fashion canister vacuum cleaner with a cute face on it? You don't. We had an old upright Hoover Windtunnel from the early 2010's. It was a loud, heavy, and ugly thing. The Hoover mainly sucks joy, and a bit of dust and debris if you go over things a few times. James is surprisingly quiet and has as much better suction than our Hoover. There is a simple adjuster on the handle to adjust suction level. At full suck James can suck up all the debris in cracks of hardwood floors, which was exactly what I needed to deal with random bits of cat litter. It looks like a basic shop vac, but it is much much quieter. It works like a shop vac where everything is a bare minimum. You have to unwind Jame's cord manually. It's not a biggie, and it's just one less automatic thing to break in the future. I have a feeling James will be with us a very long time. Just a heads up that the James I got does come with a yellow cord, and I think it looks much cuter with the blue than if I had the black one. So I'm really happy with it.

Incredible Suction
Excellent machine. Quiet, great suction and value. We use this in a construction company’s office and so far it’s been up to the task. Other machines simply haven’t been able to handle the job.

Yeah James!!
This vacuum has very good sucking power. It does very well on our luxury vinyl floors to get rid of the pet hair from 2 dogs and a cat. We have some low pile area rugs also which it does an adequate job on, though not quite as good as the hard floors. I can plug it in near the centre of our 1000 sq ft condo and I can vacuum the whole place without unplugging the unit! I am very pleased with this purchase.

1 Year of constant use and it works as new
I enjoy using the James model for 4 years already. The suction is very strong, it is great for home because it is very lightweight (this is another reason why it's great for senior people like my Mom), still large capacity. This is the best vacuum I owned in my life and I bought two of them for our family, first was Yellow, the second came Blue, I like Yellow, I wish Numatic didn't discontinue the Yellow color. One bag lasts up to 6 months depending on where to use it.

Tool kit.
The tool kit is very cheap and carpet wood floor brush is crap for the price of the vacuum.
