Beautiful paints :)
These are beautiful paints—both the color pigment & the shimmer. They are not sheer, but I like that. I have spent so much more for “speciality” metallic w/c paints, and these are just as good, maybe better. I use these by themselves or mix with other w/c paints to add shimmer to a similar pigment. I’m very happy with these.

Amazing watercolors, beautiful colors and soo shiny!
I am really impressed with these watercolors. I wanted some metallics without paying a huge amount and I couldnt be happier. These come with 12 beautiful colors they're fairly inexpensive while still being a really great quality and they shipped in 3 days. They have super awesome coverage, they can go on as transparent or opaque as you want them to. They do paint over black while still staying vibrant (you may need more layers for this, but still!) And the colors are seriously gorgeous! I swatched them in the photos one with flash on and one off so you can see the color vibrancy and the shimmer although my camera did neither justice. They do flow welling a wet wash also so you have the option to drop them in and let them do what they do, or you can paint them on dry paper and have all the control you want. These are absolutely amazing paints. The only downsides are they have no color names and no paint information like lightfastness or ingredients but you may be able to look them up I havent tried yet. I have to say the list of complaints is insignificant compared to all the positives of these. They are fantastic and highly recommended from this chick

Great paints with adjustable opacity
When I was shopping for some quality metallic watercolors, I was frustrated by the lack of black paper swatching in reviews. So after buying this (despite my hesitance) I decided to show how it looks on black paper. Here are some swatches as well as two paintings - the outlines on both chickens are embossed. In the golden chicken, I used a high concentration of this paint (just a few drops of water) and was able to achieve a solid metallic look. In the white chicken I used the metallic paints as a background color, and drew details on top with other paints. As you can see, this set is versatile and works for both solid paintings and transparent layering. Yes, as the other review says, the pans do appear to be half full. However, this set is water activated, which means you have to drop in a few drops of water and let it soak a little, then mix it into a paste. I find the extra space in the pans useful for this mixing. I also do handlettering, and to be honest that is the only thing I don't think these paints will be good for. To achieve the opaque effect I had to go over the spots several times, even when using a tiny amount of water. This would be frustrating to do when handlettering. For handlettering I prefer the Kuretake starry gold set (forgot the exact name), which is only a few dollars more. However, when it comes to painting, I like this set better as it allows more room to achieve the desired effect. Another thing this set does beautifully is layering over non-metallic colors. It is absolutely beautiful and can transform any matte colors into a shimmering delicate unique hue. Conclusion : If you are looking for a set of metallic watercolors, look no further! If you are looking for specifically handlettering watercolor, please try the Kuretake! :) Thanks for reading! I hope this helped and I hope you like my chickens :)

Great value!
Lovely colors and shine. Will get again in different colors. I saw the Frugal Crafter review these and compare to fintec and for the money these are a great alternative!

NOT SUITABLE FOR GIFTING.
I have ordered these watercolors in the past (a couple of years ago) before Prima changed the label. The original I had no issues with, but this new version seems to have trouble with the labels. The first one I ordered had beaucoup air bubbles under the label, and the pans themselves were very messy and had dried watercolor smeared all over the outsides of several of the pans. I was able to scrape off the dried watercolor smeared on the sides of two of the pans, but I realized I shouldn't *have* to do something asinine like that in the first place and so I didn't fix any more pans. I also was unable to remove any of the dozens of air bubbles under the label, and since this is supposed to be a gift I did an exchange for a replacement. Well, the replacement also had slightly messy pans and air bubbles under the label, but not to as bad of an extent as the first. Still, I would prefer neat pans and ZERO air bubbles under the label since this is supposed to be a GIFT. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have time to keep ordering and waiting for replacements. No one should have to order a replacement in the first place because quality control should be doing their JOB. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the lack of quality control. I would recommend the watercolors themselves because I have used them for many projects and they are great, but if you intend these to be a gift I suggest you order months in advance so that you have plenty of time to have replacements sent to you until you get one that is suitable for gifting.

Stunning metallic palette!
1. There is a strong chemical smell of these set of paint which is not very pleasant if you are sensitive to smells. 2. The pans are dry and some have cracks. They look half full but you still get a lot of paint for each color. 3. I tested each color as soon as it arrived. It is very thirsty and needs a lot of water to active. And once the paint is fully loaded on the brush, the pigment is gorgeous!!! I mainly use them on my existing watercolor painting as an embellishment, they are perfect as an accent for the floral painting. 4. For the price, you can't go wrong!! 12 stunning colors!! I am so happy that I got it. The 1 missing star is due to the smell. And it is made in China.

The metallic shine is beautiful!
These paints did not disappoint. I was looking for a good metallic watercolor and these really fit the bill. They are a wonderful accent to my other watercolors and they really bring out the shine bringing watercolor paintings to the next level.

some pans are full, others half full at most, one cracked and one looks like it has been used!
These paints arrived today and I'm rather disappointed. A few of the pans are full but some are barely half-full,one cracked . At first I thought they had been used! I don't know if this is the case or if all these paints look like this. I noticed someone else has had the same problem with half full pans, but as other reviews were positive, I decided to risk it. I think I will return them, which is a shame as I was so looking forward to trying out these lovely colours. After watching some video reviews I lifted out a pan (one of the worst ones) to actually see how deep the colour was in the pan from the bottom, I no longer think they have been used(thankfully) but am not sure whether I would repurchase them for the amount of paint you get. Whether the space in the top of each pan is to put water in to activate them I'm not sure. I will keep them,to be honest I was really looking forward to using the pretty colours, but am still not as pleased as I expected to be. I have used Prima watersoluble oil pastels and love them, and thought these would be just as good.

Nice paints but let down by everything else!!
The paints themselves are actually pretty nice - easy to work with, very pigmented and have a beautiful shimmery metallic finish. However, they are let down by everything else about them. Not one of the pans is full, most of them have barely any product in and the paint brush supplied looks like its been hacked at by someone who has a lifelong vendetta against paintbrushes! In addition it has cheap horrible plastic packaging that makes a horrible snapping sound everytime I open the lid out flat and I await with baited breath each time for the lid to finally snap off. Massively overpriced and extremely disappointing for Prima Marketing - a company from which I have used many wonderful quality products in the past. Purchase at your own risk but don't say you weren't warned.....

Highly recommend
I honestly had my doubt about these, however i love them. I bought these to purely try them out and they really have won me over, they activate really well and work amazingly on normal printer paper (which i mostly use for my art pieces, joys of being a poor artist) the paints dry quickly, they dont bleed or ghost on the paper which is great. I am still working on this art piece but from the colour swatches i did these colours work amazingly well, havimg used mica powder and water i was worried when these paint dried they would smudge or come off the paper but when you touch the actual colour pallet they dont rub off on your hand and when the paints actually dried on paper same thing they dont smudge like mica powder and water so a win win. would highly recommend

Great value and quality
Lovely colours which look great on white card and really pop on black. This is a very good value set which compares favourably with more expensive brands.
