Best RTR RC Money Can Buy! ????
I have time tested this product and it has held up on all aspects. I used to be a Traxxas owner but now, NOW! I see the LIGHT! The amount of features, accessories, and goodies that come with this car such as built in cooling system on both motor(very beefy 3400kv) and ESC. That right off the bat is to tell you the rest of the quality. I'm by no means a good driver and I crash A LOT but time and time again this thing takes a BASHING AND THRASHING. Landed on just about every angle from every height and haven't broken anything yet. I'm upgrading to FPV/POV footage for YouTube for either a DJI or GoPro camera. That should be fun as well. PLEASE READ THE MANUAL THEOUGHLY BEFORE OPERATING, YOU WILL BREAK SOMETHING.

I was hesitant spending this much but this thing is a ton of fun and almost invincible.
I've wanted a high quality RC car for a long time, and finally decided to bite the bullet and shell out the cash for a good one. I was a little hesitant spending $450+ on the car+batteries+charger. After much research it, it seemed that this car was the obvious choice. So I bought it. This thing totally lives up to my expectations. It's unbelievably fast. It's all waterproof (except the battery of course) so you can just rinse it off when you're done driving it through the grass and snow. The tires are a good hybrid for on-road and off-road driving. But the best part is this thing's durability. I've used plastic folding tables as ramps to propel it into the air over and over, sometimes landing one one wheel and doing a cartwheel, and it didn't get damaged at all. The bottom is scratched up from slapping against pavement, and I even managed to take a chip out of it somehow, but this thing is tough as nails. The only thing I've broken is the wing- I had to drive it over a snow bank at full speed, sending it flying into the air only to land on its wing, digging the corner of it into the ground and snapping part of it off. $11 for a replacement wing from my local hobby store and I was set! Would definitely buy again. Almost wish I got the 6s version, but I think that one weighs more, so it's not really much better.

A great deal of RC for your $$$, with one huge flaw.
Edit: After just 6 packs the motor grenaded its front bearing. Not a huge deal, and covered under warranty. BUT, it's backordered until February. Updating my review score to reflect this, as a hobby grade RC is useless without parts support. Edit 2: My replacement motor just shipped. Only took two months, hopefully they will stay in stock. Updating score to reflect painless warranty expirence. So, I've been out of the RC game for a few years, but with the pandemic and everything else going on, I thought it would be fun to take some christmas gift cards and put them toward a fun 'grown-up' toy. My prior experience has been with 1/10 scale Buggies, Short Course Trucks, and Stadium trucks, so I was certainly familiar with the expected running costs and work required to maintain one of these things, but I was hoping to find a vehicle where I could spend more time driving than wrenching. After browsing Amazon’s store, I came across ARRMA RC, a name I had not thought about for a very long time. When I was last active in the RC hobby, ARRMA was a brand-new, basically unknown off-brand that offered unique ‘twin-plate’ chassis vehicles featuring a bottom loading battery tray. It seems they’ve really taken off, and were acquired by Horizon Hobby at somewhere along the line. Interestingly enough, they’ve positioned themselves as a slightly more ‘hardcore’ alternative to TRAXXAS, but with marketing that implies a similarly strong tolerance for abuse. Initial Impressions: Pros: Came in a box in a box in another box, meaning no damage. Not sure I needed this many boxes, but I guess with some creativity and duct tape I could make a nice little cardboard ramp (Not that it would do much for a ⅛ buggy) Vehicle seems setup well from the factory, although I did increase the rear preload with the included shock shims, to reduce the chances of it squatting into the ground on a hard launch. The battery tie down straps are nice, and the tethered body clips are a great little touch. Cons: This is really nitpicky, but it had quite the smell to it when I unboxed it. I opened a window to help diffuse the scent, but I don’t recall any other RC car I ever purchased being so aromatic. The EC5 connectors used are not the most common, you may need to solder IC5 connectors to your battery and charger leads to get running. Not a big deal, but be aware. Driving: Well. Running a 6Ah 80C 3S lipo in this thing...it’s fast. Like, I’m hesitant to go full throttle for fear of hitting something at 50mph fast. The vehicle handles very well out of the box, although there is a little front toe out that I may neutralize to improve straight line tracking. The powertrain is more than enough for anybody just bashing around, and I’m excited to get this thing to a track (or at the very least an empty skate park) and see how it handles more aerobatic driving. The steering servo is plenty torquey while offering sufficient speed. And the radio transmitter/receiver combo offers plenty of range. ARRMA has done a solid job of ensuring that this mid-range RTR vehicle has no glaring flaws out of the box, and I really appreciate that, especially at the $320 price point I paid. Accessories/Transmitter: The included Spektrum transmitter is...fine. I think I like it slightly less than my older DX2s that used to come with Horizon products. It works very well, just feels a bit light and cheap, and the all black color scheme is uninspired. However, I’m really nitpicking this thing. Long Term Durability: I cannot really comment on this aspect yet, but if you don’t hit any walls or curbs at 50mph, I don’t think this vehicle is gonna break. Other user’s experience seems to support my initial assumptions. It feels tough, and a glance over the chassis didn’t show any glaring design flaws. Conclusion: This is a fantastic ‘second’ or beyond vehicle for the RC hobbyist. I hesitate to recommend it to a newbie, for two main reasons: You need to purchase a Lithium battery charger and battery (ies) and you may be required to solder IC5 connectors to both to get running. This thing is really really fast even at the 50% throttle setting. If these two points don’t scare you, this vehicle is fantastic fun for the money, and I look forward to many charge and discharge cycles. For the price, I’m very very pleased. 4.8*/5.

Faster than I expected
If your new to this level of RC car keep the throttle control at 50% for a while

Traxxas was my fav, now they’re not. Love this buggy.
Best RC I’ve ever had. I love my Traxxas cars and trucks but this is my first buggy and it’s now my fav. Super light, super fast and handles like a champ. Check out my vids on my channel. Mr bald chronicles.

THIS IS TOTALLY WICKED DUDE!
OMG! This one is so much easier to drive then the monster trucks. On Punch 3 (factory setting) it doesn't hardly wheelie at all in the dirt, it just f***ing goes really fast very quickly! This one is much better assembled too, no missing locktite, the gear mesh was right on, and the shocks didn't need any tuning. I did toe in the front wheels. We don't run on tracks. We run in wide open spaces and with the wheels toed out out, as they are of the box, it won't go in a straight line, especially on the pavement. My 8 year old kid absolutely loves it because it is so much easier to control then the Granite. He was launching it 8 feet off the ground and nailing the landing on his first run with it. (He does have prior experience at the 3S level) Don't get me wrong, it's mine but I got back into R/C to do it together with him so I have 2 so he can drive one when he's with me. These require parental supervision if you want to avoid a personal injury lawsuit. They also require mechanical aptitude to maintain unless your going to pay a shop to do it. You've seen plenty of pictures so I added one with the street tires on it. PS You must check the gear mesh and set the steering endpoints before running it. Not doing so will result in stripped gears and dead servos.

Arrma Typhon 1/8 V3 3S

Wow !
Unbelievably fast ! , amazing buggy it really is. I do question the RTR statement though. It's ready to run if you have a battery that fits with the correct connector. Batteries not included......????. It's an ic5 connector by the way for anyone who like me was struggling to find out if their xt60 might fit , but honestly don't let the battery put you off though but this beast of a buggy will blow your mind. I didn't think battery power could produce speeds like it does.....Impulse buy this ......I did and I'm so glad I did !

Super fast car, it overheats very quickly though
I gave this RC car to my soon on his14th birthday. I thought the other smaller and slower cars would have been boring for his age. He absolutely loves it, although we can’t run it for long (10min tops) as the car stops completely. We suspect it is overheating… not entirely sure. We are trying to figure it out. But it is lots of fun
