Broke within a day
My son was so excited to get this to look at his rock collection. It arrived in a poly mailer but when the poly mailer was opened the package inside was open and the telescope was free floating inside. It was advertised as a pocket telescope but when using the clip to attach to a pocket the clip broke off within one day. It would have been amazing if that had not have happened.

A well made pocket scope!
I believe the GeoVision pocket scope is of above average quality and durability for its price. I would recommend it for outdoor use only, however, as the microscope requires a lot of light. The telescope offers a decent view, although, I do have a minor complaint of it. It slides open rather than twisting, which is fine, other than it makes focusing a tad bit more difficult than it could be. To see distant objects clearly, you must extend the scope until it is about 1/4th of an inch from being fully extended. My only real complaint is that the clip on this pocket scope seems to be for decorative purposes only. When I tried to remove the scope from my shirt pocket, the metal clip popped off. It should be an easy fix with a small pair of pliers. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. It'd be a great gift for outdoor and spy enthusiasts.

Amazing, especially for the price!
We bought this toy for my cousin, who is six, for Christmas. I wasn't sure how it would work, so I snuck it out of the package to check that it worked and didn't need batteries. It works amazingly well, especially considering the low price! It has a slide-out, adjustable piece that elongates the scope and also adjusts for clarity. I could clearly see the weave in my pants, then turned it around to clearly see my husband's ear from across the house! This is a great gift for any budding scientists! I teach preschool and would even recommend it for the 4-5 yr old crowd.

Basically, you get what you pay for.
As an inexpensive stocking stuffer, this worked. It was interesting enough to be a good gift and does have some use, but more as a telescope than as a microscope and I don't see anyone actually carrying this around in their pocket. It's a toy, for children, and does the trick, but would not meet an adult's expectations.

Good idea, poor quality
This was a fantastic idea. The problem was manufacturing and durability. I ordered one for both my school age children for Christmas. With in 24 hours of opening package they exploded into pieces while being used as a microscope. It is all plastic pieces where it should be metal. My children are lucky to have not been injured.

Just a toy
I wasn't expecting professional optics or anything, but as it was it was almost useless beyond pretend play. The telescoping wasn't really done well. You had to carefully and slowly extend it to just the right point to see anything but a massive blur and the telescoping was loose so it was incredibly easy to lose that place. As for the microscope function... same issue as telescope as well, but also the the little transparent shield around the end was not nearly long enough. Had to use a flashlight and carefully hold it a certain distance away from what you wanted to see. My child enjoyed playing with it, but it had very little actual function.

I am happy.
It is smaller than I expected however it is for my 5 year old grandson for Christmas and providing he likes it and it works well, I am happy.
