great for my specific needs

For my personal requirements I could have given 5 stars. Very sturdy and well made. I did not need or want the rotational capabilities of this stand. Fifth star withheld because rotating base component was not installed. All parts required were in package. No assembly instructions provided. It looked as though someone began installing the base and then returned the product but the plastic bag containing the parts was sealed? Either poor quality control at distribution or poor quality control processing an earlier return. I checked the product description and there is no indication of "assembly required". Again, for my needs this was a perfect transaction since I was not required to uninstal the rotational ring. I suspect other customers may be less satisfied.

Improved design over the older model

My old model rusted out from sweating so much while riding indoors during the winter. The old model was a little sharper on the edges and left indentations on the front tire after riding my bike indoors for a few months. The new design is thicker where the tire comes into contact with the riser ring and doesn't cut into the tire anymore. Kinetic always makes good sturdy products, but you pay extra for that product quality.

Works okay, poor build quality

My unit arrived missing some nuts and falling apart. I had some spare washers and nuts that were the right size to repair it, but for the price I'd expect better than 'old thing I found at a garage sale' quality. In addition, the rubber feet underneath are on the small side - so while they help it grip the floor or mat surface a little, it's not enough. Some better and more tacky rubber underlayment would improve it quite a bit. The friction of the bearings is about right, though - a little coarse, so your bike wheel still feels controlled but you can turn the bars more readily than bare floor. Overall, I'd give it a 'meh'. If you can find a used one cheap, that might be the way to go.

Expensive but Essential for Some

It's more expensive than it should be but it is also much, much better than the phone book/ folded cardboard/ makeshift riser. 5 stars if it had been more reasonably priced. If you are on the fence, my recommendation would be to think about how your shoulders, neck, and back feel on the trainer compared to being on the road. If they feel fine, you can get away with what you are doing. If you get tight or feel pain, try this. Also get this if your body is very sensitive to small bike fit changes.

I Feel Like I'm riding outside!

Riding on myKinetic by Kurt Rock and Roll Indoor Bicycle Trainer (Green) with theKinetic Turntable Riser Ring feels like I'm riding outside! Very natural sway of the bike, not too excessive. I bought anISM Adamo Typhoon Saddle for my Trek 5900 bike and I must say riding indoors seated for 1hr+ is now possible without a NUMB package! I've been training with TrainerRoad.com using myGarmin USB Ant Stick to collect heart rate, speed, cadence, and calculated power with the Kurt Kinetic trainer from (Garmin Premium Heart Rate Monitor (Soft Strap) &Garmin GSC 10 Speed/Cadence Bike Sensor ). TrainerRoad.com has kicked it to a new level for me, it has really pushed my training to a level I wouldn't have ordinarily forced myself to train at. Very Pleased with my total indoor cycling set-up, would absolutely recommend to others!

riser turntable a must for any trainer

I really like that it raises the front wheel so your bike is level while on the trainer. Best of all is that it swivels, forcing you to be more quiet in your pedaling. It also works your core when riding hands free because the front wheel wants to turn to the side. I would have given it 5 stars but, when it arrived the turntable was bound up and I had to bend metal and lubricate it to get the turntable to move freely. I consider this accessory a must for any bike trainer.

Works exactly as promised

Works just as advertised. Almost works too well when used in conjunction with the new mountain bike trail on Zwift as it moves very easily. However, it does work just like it’s supposed to and features very sturdy construction. If you like to stand and crank when pedaling then this really lets you get into the action.

Good option to loosen up your trainer experience

Bought it so I could try out the 10 whole mins of MTB riding zwift introduced. I hope it's more eventually. Riding normally with it has been nice although with wheel-on trainers it shifts your bike's tire position on the roller when turning and I'm not 100% certain it's good for the bike/tire/roller. After some months the swiveling mechanism has become crunchy.

Quality riser

This riser allows the wheel to move, it works well with the Mountain bike section in Zwift and I'm sure will be used in more sections of Zwift as steering is implemented.

Phone book or folded CVS receipt would have worked

It's a circle with slots in it. Best circle with slots I've ever purchased. Would purchase again. Worth north of $50? Debatable. But I don't have time to go shopping for circles with slots locally and the local slotted circle store didn't have anything like it in stock. Satisfied customer. Doubles as flying ring frizbee.

Works as advertised, a little pricey.

I give this 5 stars because it works perfect for indoor training, gives you different levels to set your front wheel at, and the rotation means your bars are never pointed off in the wrong direction. It's def on the pricey side, but overall 5 stars because it is the perfect front wheel block.
