Just a lovely 3-quart (large) pan

I wanted something big enough to cook pasta and other foods in and was skeptical of the 3-quart size. I have a 1 and 2-quart size but both were just not large enough. This came at a very good price for stainless steal and I'm smitten with it - use it every day now. To clean I put 1/4 cup of white vinegar and water each in, bring it to a boil and use a soft scrubber. Looks as good as the day I bought it!

An Absolute Steal

I'm always down for things that are a Great Value and Amazon Basics tends to come through. I cook and make all my meals and love all my kitchen tools that help me do it. But I'm also cheap, minimal and practical. It's a balance between having purpose driven items and items that can do a lot. A stainless steel sauce pan is both, and a must have in my kitchen. When used for its specific, but many, purposes this pan is the perfect size, well made, and quite the workhorse. Will it compare apples to apples with the highest end stainless steel cookware? Probably not. Will it equally perform against average stainless steel cookware if you use and treat it right? Most definitely. All at a bargain that can't be beat. My non-stick frying pan gets the most daily use, but this comes in second ahead of the cast iron in usage. I use it A LOT is what I'm saying. It has been up to task. Titular sauces, pasta, soups, and so on. You name something that belongs in stainless steel sauce pans, it'll do it. The bottom is thick and distributes heat. It reacts to acids as it should with no flavors imparted. It cleans up. It will even shine up if you're that type. Treat it and use it right and it'll reward you. Quite honestly my favorite purchase of 2022.

Don't take your eyes off when cooking. I've had this pan since May, 2022. I liked it even though I didn't use it much, it was fine. Today I was steaming/boiling some green beans with salt pork . Started boiling turned down to low heat. Went up stairs about 10 minutes later, which is usually fine. Done it many times. All water was gone, house filled with smoke, pan an food burned black. This should not have happened on low/simmer heat setting. Needless to say it all went in garage.

Top doesn't fit perfectly but good for the price

I recently moved off campus in college so I needed to buy a pot to make pasta and mac and cheese. This works great. The top slides around a little bit but given I paid like $20 for it, I'm not complaining too much especially because it doesn't slide off, just not a perfect fit. The glass top makes it so I can easily see what I'm cooking which I like. Its plenty big for the box of mac and cheese and 1-2 servings of pasta that I use it for.

Great Quality

Love this saucepan. Needed to replace an ancient 3Qt pot. I use for everything. This one is perfect for all my needs. I use it constantly. It will continue to get a lot of wear and it cleans like a dream. Probably use it every day and looks brand new. Will be replacing other sized pots with this brand as needed.

My fufu pot

This is a good pot. I use it to make fufu. After about 20mins of soaking, and with a little bit of elbow grease I can easily wash the pot.

A decent sized saucepan which does everything a saucepan should

Decent sized saucepans are always useful, whether for boiling potatoes, making soup or my latest fascination of cooking raw beetroot. At 2.8 litres, it is one of the largest saucepan sizes however, it's difficult to convey the precise size in relative terms. For example, it's impossible to state how many potatoes or beetroot it might hold given there is no one size of potato but I would estimate that it is large enough to boil potatoes for 5-6 people. The saucepan is an all metal construction and whilst I used to think that this would mean that the handle would become unusable during cooking, that is not the case. It also has another benefit in that if it is frequently washed in the dishwasher, the handle doesn't discolour, unlike a plastic handle would. When empty, the saucepan is reasonably light, which is important, as you want to be able to lift the saucepan when full. This is particularly important given that the saucepan doesn't have a second (small) grip handle on the opposite side. In my view, this would be to the benefit of a lot of large saucepans, particularly for older people who may struggle to lift heavy saucepans with one hand. The saucepan seems to be suitable for use on all kinds of hobs, although I only have a gas hob and so that is the only type I can definitely confirm that it works on. Finally, and perhaps on a slight negative note, the saucepan doesn't seem to have retained the usual aggressive AmazonBasics pricing. That's not to say that the saucepan is expensive (£17.85 at the time of writing) but it's certainly not significantly cheaper than the competition (my current set of 5 branded saucepans and frying pan cost around £70)

An elegant, robust and high quality Sauce Pan

I have been using this Stainless Steel sauce pan to cook all my delicious pasta (and it’s sauces), soups and even to warm up any left over foods. I am highly impressed by the quality of this (not so basic) AmazonBasics Saucepan. My food hasn’t stuck to the sides/base of the pan, and has cooked my food perfectly thanks to the great heat distribution! As it is stainless steel, the pan is easy to clean and cooks/warms up your food super quickly, so that means more time enjoying your food, and less time cooking/warming it up! It is a little heavy though, weighing 1.39kg, so may not be suitable for the elderly/children to use. The lid is well designed, nor the glass or the metal lid gets super hot upon warming up the pan, which is a nice safety feature. It also looks aesthetically pleasing and matches the aesthetics of my kitchen top beautifully! The 2.8L option facilities for a great capacity and is perfect for a family of 4-6 people! It is also well priced at £17.15 and is well worth it due to its sheer quality and robust build! Overall, very pleased. Thank you for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful! :)
