Exactly what I needed and great performance
I had an old automatic 35mm camera that I loved using as a kid that apparently cost my parents a pretty penny back in the 80s. I had dropped it at one point and broke the clip that holds the film door closed on the back of the camera. This clip also engaged the locking mechanism that loaded the film and indicated to the camera when the cartridge was removed to clear then"exposed" indicator from the screen on the camera. I did buy a replacement camera once upon a time at a yard sale, but I just had such fond memories of this camera, and was familiar with the kinds of pictures it took that I wanted to get it going again if possible. I was able to see that manually moving the door latch switch to the closed position would keep it there, and the camera would go through the film loading process, and I could see that the camera was still able to auto focus and the shutter was functioning normally. My only issue was how to keep the door of the camera closed once I had film loaded. The last thing I wanted was to have a situation where whatever tape I used would lose its stick and the door would pop open exposing the film in the camera. I considered electrical tape first but in my experience, it doesn't stand up to constant handling and the adhesive melts from body heat making a mess everywhere. Not only would this most likely cause the tape to fail and the door to open, it would probably leave the camera a sticky mess. Then I thought about duct tape. We all know the saying, if it doesn't move and it should, WD-40, if it moves and it shouldn't, Duct Tape. But I've had similar issues with the adhesive on duct tape failing after some time, and it definitely leaves behind residue. My biggest reasoning for worrying about residue is that if I wanted to use this camera more than one or two times, I'd need the surface of the camera to remain pretty free of residue so tape can continue sticking to the surface each time I load a roll of film. Then I had the realization of Gaff tape. No residue, great stick. But then I saw the prices of Gaff tape which was crazy out of my budget. For the prices I saw, it may have been better to just deal with removing the residue from something like duct tape and hope to not have any tape failures while film was loaded. Then I came across this Gaff tape. I saw some very mixed reviews about it and saw some people mention a possible formulation change in the adhesive through the years. But at the price for the roll, and knowing I won't be using very much at a time, I decided to go for it and to just do a dry run first before putting any film in the camera. This tape worked perfectly as I'd hoped. In my dry run I made sure to wear the camera around my neck so it got bumped around throughout the day. I put it in and out of my bag. I made sure to hold the camera and mess around with it. The adhesive never melted or gave out. I had it on for about 3 or so days before deciding to pull it off and go live with actual film and not a single bit of residue was left behind on the body of the camera. For context it is made out of plastic and there is texture on some parts where the tape was placed. This even ends up covering the tripod mounting hole that I don't use anyway and the tape never lifted. I can't necessarily speak to this being used in the field for Gaffing purposes but I can say without a doubt that this tape delivered exactly as I'd hoped and I'm beyond happy with my purchase. I've shot 2 rolls of film in this camera with no issues, and I even dropped it once while it was taped and the tape didn't give way. When I run out I will definitely be purchasing this again.

book repair
I bought this to repair a book spine, the tape is thin so it was challenging to handle it but the repair works perfectly.

Good alternative to the much more expensive...
It's gaff tape... it's less expensive than the brand-names and it works just as well in my opinion. Not a huge bonding power but gaff tape doesn't usually get used like duct tape (as opposed to the other way around!). Definitely saves a few bucks...

Another 'BASICS" hit - good tape
Gaffer's tape isn't cheap these days. Especially considering that you use it for a show and throw it away. This was MUCH better than expected. Not as good as Pro-Gaff, but for the price, great for the money. I used for taping extension cords down at a 2-day Radio Hamfest. Worked perfectly on a gym floor. No pull-ups, no trips. Easy to remove at the end of the show. Will buy again.

Sticky where it needs to be. Good hold but also strong texture if you need grip…I didn’t know this.
Good tape to use for what tape is used for. Sting stick ability. I wish it didn’t have the strong texture on the top face, seems like it would be perfect for a baseball bat or walking poles or handlebars.

This is my second go-to tape now.
For stickiness, to for the gorilla heavy-duty, but for everything else, this tape works great!

Great tape, messy removal
This tape works very well to hold wires down even under heavy foot traffic. Removal is hard and the tape leaves a lot of sticky residue.

Not 90ft - white color anyway
There's something wrong here...I bought a roll of the black gaffer tape last summer and have used it for a varitey of projects including one making photography v-flats for which I needed to order another roll of white gaffer. The poject calls for an equal amount (albeit a lot) of gaffer tape, black and white. I ordered a fresh roll of white gaffer tape from here and I've run out of it without even completing the project. The black roll however (the one I've been using since summer) is only depleted by half despite using the same amount of tape in the project. I thought that the white roll looked a lot smaller than the black roll, but I dismissed it as a new rolling process or something. No, this tape is NOT 90ft. More like 50ft AT BEST.

You get what you pay for
I used this to cover up the bright always-on LED display on an air conditioning unit in my bedroom. I tried to take the tape off after a few months, and it left behind a ton of sticky residue which took me over 20min to clean off (Isopropyl alcohol worked the best if for me, if anyone else is having a similar problem). Also it had become really rigid and bits of it flaked off as I was removing it. The main reason I bought gaffer tape is because it's not supposed to leave any residue behind. But if you're looking for a cheap roll of tape to completely wrap something up for a short amount of time and you don't care about residue being left behind once you remove it, this is ok I guess.

A new roll of Gaff tape makes me feel like a new man!
Nothing like getting a new roll of gaff tape. I've been without some for quite a while due to being flat out broke. However I'm now working full time and once again raking in the moolah. So I decided to buy a new roll. Do I absolutely need it? No, Have I used it for any real practical purpose? Not yet. It just feels good to know I have it when I need it.

Very hard to roll out - adhesion is strong
You need muscle to unroll this stuff, it is very VERY tight on the roll, did not work well with the gaff gun at all had to put a round wood roll and have someone hold VERY tight as we attempted to roll out to gaff 100' of XLR and HDMI cable was like a rope pulling contest. It does how ever stick very well. Recommend this is a peel and stay for ever rather than peel and remove for conferences and short meetings.

Works surprisingly well
This tape has pretty good strong adhesion without leaving anything gooey behind when removed, as often happens with duct tape. It holds quite well for a longer period of time than duct tape, too, especially in warm environments where duct tape adhesive turns soft and sticky. This tape is also fabric, so it's softer and bends more easily and is great for attaching small mics to clothing. It is a lot more expensive than duct tape, but functions better, too.
