Does the job to hold two bikes
Sturdy and well suited for holding two bikes. One defect found was on the horizontal brace piece, the fastener that was supposed to be crimped into position was lodged about 2 inches in the tube as opposed to flush with the surface. It was obvious this occurred during manufacturing, because all others were in place and received the spray paint. It looked like the surrounding tube was crimped, but the fastener was not in place. Luckily, with a few taps on a hard surface, it was drawn out to the surface and we were able to carefully secure a bolt to it.

I bought 2 of those to save space in my garage. They don’t seem to be very sturdy and my husband was afraid they were gonna break and fall on top of the car ( since I put one in top of the other and the top one is pretty high) but it’s been over a year and they’re still good. Each one has been holding an adult bike and a 16” or 20” bike and 2 helmets. It’s a good product.

For the price, it's not bad.
First, the kit came complete and arrived on time. I have a 12' ceiling in the garage, so most of the work actually came from preparing my work space. Once that was done, installation was rather easy. A few notes, though. 1) Make sure the two ceiling mounts are directly in-line with each other; use a laser level to make sure. One of the ceiling mounts has a pulley that is not straight. The wood screws that are provided are a soft metal and the heads strip very easily. The rope is not high quality and mine is already fraying (I will probably replace it with some military 5/50 cord). On the hooks, there is a large gap where the pulley wheel is attached, so you have to make sure the rope is on the wheel when you hoist the bike, or the rope will get pinched between the wheel and the housing mechanism. Because the width of the ceiling mounts is about 4", I decided to attach a mounting board to the ceiling and then attach the ceiling mounts to the boards. I used large heavy duty bolts to mount the boards to the ceiling, and then I used 10 wood screws to attach the ceiling mounts to the boards. Once everything was mounted, it took less than a minute to attach the hooks and hoist up the bike. In the end, I gave a 3-star rating based on the quality of the parts (yes, I know that the price is great, but I wound up using some of my own hardware to beef up the kit. I cannot figure out how to post pictures, but if I can figure it out, I'll post.

NICE PRODUCT!
Needed to hire a handyman to install it but mainly because I needed to get up on a ladder and would have fallen. Great product - works well! Thank you!

Needs slight modification to hold 2 bikes easily.
Good price & idea, but not capable of holding 2 road bikes at the same time as shown without smashing them together. I modified the unit by putting a 12 x 12" piece of 3/8" plywood covered with shelf protective foam on the shelf area. this allowed me to separate the two bikes and prevent any damage to them. This unfortunately removes the capability of having a shelf but allows you to store two bikes safely and easily.

Solid construction, fair price
Installed in minutes and I have one bike on the rack. I don't think I'd ever put two bikes on there because of how far it extends from the wall. The top shelf is hard to reach depending on how high you hang the rack and having a bike or bikes in the way. So far, the top shelf isn't being used. Feels like it's well made and is holding up with no problems so far. I'd recommend screwing all three screws into a stud just to be safe. I'd probably buy the 1-bike rack if I had to do it again.

Additional space between bikes needed
This thing is well built but not so well designed. Installation is a breeze, and it feels solid enough to hang the two bikes from. The problem is that the two bikes are so crammed against one another that the handlebars of one bike clash with the seat of the other bike. It takes some serious “massaging” to get the second bike to sit properly and in a way that I don’t think it is going to fall so easily. I manage to hang them, but I take 10x the time it should.
