It just doesn't fly well.
My son and I have been throwing footballs, baseballs, frisbees and whistling Nerfs to each other for the past thirteen years. This is by far, the worst flying "ball" we have ever tossed. Really, a giant waste of money. Maybe the bigger version flies better. This one, just waddles through the air and drops.

Fun to throw around
I knew this was going to be a small football but upon receiving it, I was actually surprised how small it was. Its perfect for little hands but even for adults, its pretty fun. I've been throwing it around in the office and because of its size, its perfect as you don't have to worry about breaking anything. Its made of soft foam and the fins are your standard typical plastic. The middle of the football is hollow, I thought it would, i don't know, make a sound being thrown in the air or something but it did no such thing. I think its for aerodynamic purposes. Perfect for indoor play, I would be a bit careful throwing this outside as I think concrete will no doubt scuff up that foam.

Fun in the Office
I work in an office where there's a lot silliness and mild horseplay going on - nothing serious, but just enough happening to keep everyone wary and to keep morale up a little. I selected this little throw toy for this environment. So far, it has been well received and has become part of the mix. It's not perfect, and it probably missed the target audience a little, but for office props it works for me. This is a very small finned football, about the size of a grapefruit though not round. It is soft and easy to grip but it is not as soft as a Nerf ball or a foam rubber ball with no fins. That's all right for us, but it's something to keep in mind. It is weighted so that over distance the head should drop and the fins point up towards the end of the flight time. Because it is soft and pliable it is well suited for smaller kids, though larger children probably will find this to be too small. Indoors, though, it has enough weight to do damage if it hits something fragile like a vase or flower pot, so some caution should be used indoors. Over farther distances, it doesn't fly quite as straight as I'd expect. I think the size and weight might be a little off? This is a fun finned football toy and I like it as do my office mates. It's fun to toss around (carefully in the office) and it has a nice feel to it. I question, though, if it should have been bigger or if there is a problem with the balance that could be improved.

Good quality materials but not a smooth throwing experience
Other reviewers say this is easy to throw. I agree with that, partly. It’s easy to throw, but it’s not easy to throw well. My 13-year-old and I both had trouble getting it to consistently spiral. We tried different distances, throwing styles, and strengths. There are no instructions on the best way to hold it, so we mixed things up. Even so, it wobbled in the air most of the time. This made it difficult to catch much less offer the expected smoothness of passing. I can throw an official-size football with a good spiral most of the time. I and my kiddo also throw youth and kid’s size footballs without too much trouble. I was expecting this to fly more like the NERF Vortex Aero Howler where the fins on the back offer extra stability. Unfortunately, they do not. It’s a shame, too, because this football is made of quality materials. Soft yet durable. It hit the concrete ground a few times with no visible damage. The softness lowers the chance of stubbed fingers. It offers good gripping and is easy to hold, but the small size does mean you can’t get a true football grip on it. Sadly, we just couldn’t get it to fly very well and so it wasn’t as enjoyable an experience as expected. I much prefer the NERF alternatives with the longer tails.

Fun for Kids
So I knew this was a smallish toy, but I was still surprised at its size. This is definitely best for children, but then I think that’s probably the target audience for it anyway. My 5 ½ year old son likes playing with it, and it fits his hand size just fine. I was curious to see if the hollow middle and fins made a noticeable difference, but it seems to be more cool looking than effective. I’m not sure it has too much impact on distance or spiral, but having said that my son loves the fact that it’s got such a fun shape. This is certainly great for kids, although I’m not sure if it’ll necessarily help you throw any better. I think my kids will enjoy using it in the pool, too.

Flies well. But small.
This "football" flies well. Pretty straight. It's much smaller than expected, fits in your palm like a softball with a rocket tail. It looks more like a rocket ship that a sports ball. Throwing and catching is ok, but it's pretty hard. Seems to be made more for adults and older kids. It's priced right for what you get. But I expected something similar to Nerf, and it's definitely not.

A great throw this does not make
I have several Aerobie frisbees and I think they're the better frisbees, so I had high hopes these could help a non footballer corn it a decent throw. That didn't turn it to be the case, it's the same as a real football but it does go the distance. I gave this a four star as I was mistakenly expecting this to be like a Nerd toy, maybe it'd have a harder core but the football part would still be soft but it's more like hard rubber. Given I was intending for smaller kids to play with this, a bonk on the head especially if they aren't paying attention could really hurt. I would rule out indoor play as well.

Small, but fun
Smaller then I expected, you can see the size when compared to a tennis ball. Not the easiest to throw but my son and I had fun tossing it around in the back yard. Not sure how often we will use it over a baseball or football but is good for something different.
