Works well after difficult installation
I actually used two of these to convert a pilot lited gas range to a sparker lighted gas range and after MUCH adjustment and difficult arrangements I finally got them to work. Now it's working GREAT! No more matches and no more blown out pilot lites. HOWEVER, let me assure you I am fully aware that I am using the igniter for a use it wasn't actually intended for but NONE of the problems I had have anything to do with that. The probes are mounted next to a gas burner just as they would be in a BBQ, the system is grounded just as it would be in a BBQ, and the Push Buttons are installed just as they would be in a BBQ. The problems came from the flimsly construction of the probe wires and connectors and the inadequate insulation around the wires. I had to make sure the wires remained free of any grounded parts in the range, even though the wires are insulated, or a spark would arc from the insulated wires to the grounded areas. Worse, the probes themselves would arc from the bottom of the probe, around the ceramic insulator, to the connector wire connector underneath the probe. I had to coat the ceramic insulators with silicon insulation at the base of the probes to prevent the arcing. I also added silicon to the insulated wires wherever I was unable to keep them sufficiently away from grounded areas. Once I overcame the frustration of all the extra mods and maneuvering, and got the igniters installed properly, they worked GREAT!!! My wife is a happy camper now that there is no more smell of gas when the pilot blows out, which happened often, and no more need to raise the range lid and relight the pilots. Also, the batteries seem to last forever but even when they're ready for replacement, it's an easy one minute process. It's too bad GrillPro didn't spend an extra 50 cents or so on better insulation or this rating would be a five star.

so I attribute it to poor quality insulation on the spade connector
I bought this kit to retro-fit 3 igniters into my BBQs Galore Turbo grill which only came with one igniter but the chassis is pre punched for 3. I knew I would have to make some stainless steel collector boxes to match the original one, no problem, got some 20 gauge SS and bent them up and drilled and punched them identical to the original one. I also knew I would have to relocate the unit to the lower face of the BBQ as it is bigger than the original unit and will not fit in the top hole. No problem, drilled the new hole and plugged the old one with a snap in knock out filler. Next I installed the electrodes, here is where the problems began. The electrodes are set in the brackets with only about 5/16" of porcelain between the electrode and the bracket which results in the spark jumping from the base of the electrode to the bracket instead of from the tip to the collector box, even with a 1/4" to 3/16" gap. I ended up extending the porcelain with JB weld. This took forever as I had to keep rotating the electrodes for over an hour in my hands waiting for the JB Weld to set up enough not to drip off. This trick fixed the spark shorting to the bracket, but when installed in the grill there was another issue. Where the electrode wires were touching against any bare metal the spark would jump out right thru the insulation. I had to order some thick heat cloth and insulate the wires to stop this, and I also had to carve out some metal off the chassis near the electrode connection as the spark was jumping this point as well. The distance from the electrode connection to the frame was the same as on the original setup. I am still using the original electrode and wire on the first burner and the spark never jumped on that one, so I attribute it to poor quality insulation on the spade connector. So after hours of extra work I now have my triple igniter and it works great. I expected to have to do all the retrofitting but the poorly designed electrodes and crappy insulation on the wires was a real time waster, which is why I only gave it 2 stars. Probably most people would have given up and returned it.

Excellent Ignitor
I work for a manufacturing company, and as a special project we constructed 5 grills from scratch in out metal fabrication shop. Since I work in the engineering lab, I was tasked with installing burners, knobs, and igniters. Due to the large size of these grills, we needed 10 igniters for all 5 grills. I purchased 4 different types to try out as prototypes. I thought the rapid firing type, with a single AA battery, that clicks over and over as long as your finger is on the button would be the best because they are more expensive and some of the higher quality grills use them. However, I found that the AA batteries wear out very quickly in these igniters. And, the two brands of the AA battery type igniters had extremely short wiring, while I have a huge grill. Needless to say, I went with the GrillPro 20610. If you are building a DIY grill this is the igniter I would recommend. It "always" ignites on the first press of the conveniently red colored button. We found there was no need for a label for the igniter button. The box that attaches to the burner is sturdy and easy to secure. Plus, there is no need for batteries because the spark is created through magic (lol, I didn't feel an explanation of the science of the battery-less, bi-metal igniters in this review was necessary). Great price, great igniter, and trust me, it is truly universal. I challenge you to find a gas grill this will not ignite as long as you also have fuel and oxygen.

This lighter dies after 2 or 3 uses.
I am back to using a gas light stick. This mechanical lighter worked great in the shop and after first install and maybe another 2 times. Then nothing. Very disappointing. Higher priced than you would expect to pay for junk. Yes?

Works like a charm
Easy to install, may need slight adjustment to correct spacing with sparkgap can be done with needle nose pliers.. No more nuisance with matches.

Would buy it again
I used it to replace the annoying manual lighter on the 2 burner propane cooktop in our RV (Winnebago View 2012) Wow we certainly enjoy the difference.

Works
does the job, but- like many other reviews said- you will have to MAKE it fit. If you aren't fairly handy, this might not be for you

Good quality, I was wrong, failed after 3 times
Working well so far, don't buy, failed after 3 uses
