Didn't work for me
Tried to save most of the paint on a vintage Ideal doll from the 50's. After light sanding and alcohol cleaning of the surface I applied 2 coats of peel stop with a day dry time between each. Coating had good adhesion but didn't adhere the cracks. After primer coating with enamel spray paint the cracks lifted and surface was not stable. I ended up peeling and sanding all of the paint off down to the raw composition material. This also did not seal the surface and prevent bleed thru of whatever they used in the 1950's to paint this doll.

If you are really removing loose paint and then sanding, there's no point to this product
If you are really removing loose paint and then sanding, there's no point to this product. At that point you can just prime. It's cheaper. I tried various levels of old paint removal, and tried this versus a regular primer, and decided primer was just as good. Not sure what the point of this product is if they really expect you to remove all the peeling paint first. That's just insane.

WOW. Just what we NEEDED
Our screened in back porch was painted when we moved in 30 years ago. The paint had already been chipping of...giving a distressed look. While we LIKED the look, it has been a PAIN because the paint has continued to chip and there was ALWAYS loose paint chips on the floor. My wife has been complaining for those 30 years about this wall...and this product seems to have "glued" the edges to the point that it has pretty much stopped chipping. Only a manageable few chips every couple of weeks. I get to keep my distressed paint look and stopped the wife's complaints.

If you don't want brush marks, better spray it. But it DOES work!
I used this on a piece of vintage military test equipment (cas aluminum case with textured paint) that had crumbling paint I was trying to preserve. Brushing it on left a kind of milky appearance with obvious brush marks on the 2nd coat. Spraying it on worked great!

Used the product for 2 decades
The product is easy to use and has better adhesion properties than primer. The value is questionable. A gallon is rarely needed. A gallon can last years. Quarts sizes are adequate for most homeowners but the price is high compared to a quart of Rustoleum pain. It is the same company but Quarts cans of peel stop is considerably more expensive than regular Rustoleum paint and this makes this diminishes the value.

Amazing!
I needed something to put on brand new, freshly painted beadboard that was chipping despite proper preparation. This stuff was easy to apply, dried clear, and didn't change the color of the paint. It leaves somewhat of a texture which makes it easy to wipe down while not changeing the sheen of the paint. I am certain this saved my project!

Did not stop the peel
I had some issue with the drywall mud reacting to something (either the first layer of primer or the topcoat of ceiling paint) that caused multiple areas of craquele like an old painting. UGH. I purchased this hoping it would, as the name says, stop the peel. I sanded, and scraped, then put this on. But it crackled again. Boo. If this happens to you, sand and scrape, then put on regular Zinsser water-based primer. Then mud and prime again. That did the trick. But this stuff is basically glue, and did nothing to help.

It’s aight
It worked okay. The hallway door paint is still chipping off. I think it has years of layered paint that makes it stick to the frame causing peeling. It worked on other areas, like trims and around the light switch. What was kind of bothersome was the white clumps in the adhesion. U must stir thoroughly to get rid of them and it creates a yellow hue, if u don’t catch the drips before they dry.

It works....so far!
I have a greenhouse with concrete sides on two parts. Each year I have re-painted the walls with white emulsion. One or two years ago I noticed flaking paint on the walls! The internet is a wonderful thing about getting information about things such as this product I am reviewing. I scraped off all the loose paint (What a mess!) and brushed this stuff on. Being a greenhouse facing south the stuff soon dried...as did the emulsion I put on top of it! To date...May 2016 my walls remain good....
