They don’t make them like they used to
For many people their medicine cabinet is one of those things they see and touch and use every single day. Those same people probably have never bought a medicine cabinet in their lives (it came with their house or their building contractor sourced it and installed it without any input from the homeowner). And precious few people ever replace a medicine cabinet that’s already installed. So it just makes you wonder why something that’s used every day and is supposed to last a lifetime isn’t made as well as they used to be. You would be surprised how many of them I looked at that are made of thin plastic and have the look of a tawdry motel’s bathroom. I am pleased to say that this one is still made mostly of powder-coated steel and is still made in the USA. The mirror is one piece of beveled glass rather than flat glass in a metal frame, so it looks like it can belong in a nicer bathroom. For me the first and number one reason for choosing it is that the dimensions are extremely difficult to find these days. Several bath supply specialists told me that it is a size that used to be popular maybe 20 years ago but changes in home construction have made the dimensions close to obsolete. In fact the only one that looked as if it would be a perfect fit was more than double the price. Going back to the metal construction, to be clear it does use clear plastic shelves, something the seller specifies very clearly in their product description. Apparently there are some who expected the shelves to be glass (I haven’t seen glass shelves at this price in over 30 years). Would I prefer glass? Not really, the shelves are out of sight almost all of the time and the use of plastic doesn’t bother me; however I have seen some models that use a thick acrylic shelf that looks like glass that I would have preferred. Unlike the plastic cabinets I’ve seen this one has a mirror that’s a full piano-type hinge that is riveted to the cabinet. The entire cabinet arrives fully assembled and the choice of the way the mirror opens is determined by when end you mount the cabinet as top or bottom. The cabinet can be recessed or wall mounted if you prefer. I spent months looking for a cabinet that fit my available space after the mirror broke on the old one and I eventually only found two that are an exact fit and the other model was almost double and didn’t offer anything more or better for the added cost. Note that they only offer one shipping option which is optimized for the weight and fragileness of something that has such a large glass mirror surface. It took 3 days. One strike against it is, although it survived, it is not especially well protected and the plastic shelves are literally just thrown inside the cabinet with nothing to keep them safe. While the cabinet did survive getting to me, unfortunately it has one strike against it for either the way it is designed or the way it is made … the frame (which is visible whether you recess the cabinet or wall-mount it) does not have welded corners and because the frame flares out very slightly that means there is a gap at each corner. You can see that in the closeup photo. They made the effort to weld the corners of the interior of the cabinet so it doesn’t make sense that they left the corners unfinished. Despite the issue with the corners, which to me is not a deal breaker, the overall quality of this cabinet is a superior value for the price. It looks fantastic once installed and has a feeling of high quality that will last.

Fit perfectly beside my mirror. Plenty of room and cabinet is sturdy.

Perfect size for a manufactured home.
In remodeling the Master Bath in a manufactured home, I replaced the old medicine cabinet with the one I'm writing about. This cabinet is a little smaller than found in a stick built home, so I was glad to find it at Amazon. The beveled mirror edge is an upgrade to what was there before, and looks great with the remodel and upgrades to this modern classic bathroom.

Easy enough
This cabinet was exactly what I needed to replace my rusted unit. However, I must have missed the part where they said screws not included. I flipped through the box and the cabinet a couple of times oh, and it wasn't until the third page of the instruction manual that it mentioned Hardware not included. Fortunately, I had two screws from my old cabinet and located two more in my utility drawer. As for the cabinet itself, it seems to be well constructed. And major difference is that the shelves are acrylic, not metal. They fasten partially over the existing grooves.

Not recommended for surface mount
The picture does not capture how poor it looks as a surface mount. It has the rough appearance of a recess-mounted cabinet stuck to your wall with unfinished metal edges and the shelf mounts visible from the outside. I recommend not purchasing this cabinet if you need a surface-mounted cabinet.

Easy to install, great fit! Pretty!
All in all, super impressed with how pretty this mirror is pretty edges, and how easy it was to install. I measured to replace my old medicine cabinet, and I got it right the first time with this one. BEST PRICE too (I'm renting and didn't need to get fancy, but this looks fancy.) This cabinet is metal base (not plastic like my old one) and feels sturdy. I kept the four old screws from previous and was glad I did b/c this cabinet did not come with screws or hardware. Not a big deal tho! I also used anchor/molly bolts to secure. There are four additional / optional holes on inside / sides to secure cabinet even more, if desired.

A fantastic find
Unfortunately our house was built post WW2 and the bathroom medicine cabinet ran on the small side. After looking for a recessed cabinet that would fit the hole in our bathroom and coming up empty, we found one at Amazon with the right dimensions. The cabinet is surprisingly sturdy for the price. The inner cabinet is made of metal. I did not have an issue with the corners not being welded together because it was perfect. None of the holes inside the cabinet fit our wall cavity so my husband drilled a hole where we can securely affix the back of the cabinet. We also added two additional screws on the side. Mirror is pretty substantial. It may be cheap but doesn’t feel cheap. Our old one looks just like this one but the mirror was flimsy. This did not come with nails. We had to use our own. The shelves were also very flimsy but for something under $100 what did you expect? This is a good buy if you are doing a diy bathroom remodel.

Arrives damaged repeatedly!
I LOVE this product, HOWEVER the last 4 I have ordered have arrived smashed/damaged. And they want them returned. I had a wall mirror cut to match and now I’m stuck without being able to have this cabinet to match. The first few I’ve bought have been great! If you can get one not damaged!

A solid piece of 1950s Americana
Judging by the design, I think they're still using up stock they produced in the 1950s. But that's a *good* thing. It will last as long as my house will, it's made on this continent (at least the one I bought in early 2021 was... the company name has changed and the website doesn't say anything about making the product in the U.S.) , and if it's installed properly (recessed in the wall) it looks just fine. It's a swell product.

Simple but not cheap looking
What is nice is that it is constructed in such a way that the shelves can be installed in any direction so as to allow the mirrored door to open right or left.

If it is to be recessed, make sure you have the correct opening.
It was a perfect fit as a replacement cabinet in my bathroom. Easy to install.

Beautiful cabinet, great price
I was concerned about quality when I ordered it, but it’s beautiful. Brightens up my very small bathroom. Would definitely recommend this cabinet.
