3 year review
6/1/18 *4 year review* A coworker of mine, Gary, has recently become homeless (long story). He’s completely refused any kind of help from me or others, but this morning, I gave him my Everest backpack. I knew from my years of using it that it will serve him quite well. The interior liner is still waterproof and the pack will hold everything he’ll need to carry around. Let’s hope that Gary gets back on his feet soon...until then, he’ll have an excellent backpack that will serve him as well as it did me. 5/20/17 *3 year review* This pack now serves as my dedicated bug out bag. It's filled to the brim with freeze dried food, camping gear, batteries, a sleeping bag, and other miscellaneous gear. The two side pockets make an excellent storage location for 5.56/9mm ammo, extra magazines and a water filtration kit. Being prepared is a great feeling! 6/29/2016 *2 year review* Bag is still going strong. 03/28/2014 *7 month review* For the past 210 days, this bag has held up to repeated abuse in the form of rainstorms, heavy loads, and rough handling. I am still amazed at the durability of this pack relative to its price point. I highly recommend it to both the casual weekender and the dedicated backpacker. *60 day review* In the two months that I have owned this pack, I have used it DAILY to haul anything I can put in it. I was even able to fit a Wal-Mart twin sized air mattress (yes, in the box) into it. As I noted in my 30-day review, the bag's adjustable straps are beginning to fray after such use. In addition, the stitching that connects some of the straps to the pack is beginning to show signs of wear from heavy, frequent loads. If you're only planning on using this pack for the occasional weekend jaunt into the local state park, you needn't worry about the kind of issues I'm experiencing. As I've mentioned previously, I am a bike commuter, so I necessarily rely very heavily on this bag and regularly stuff it to full capacity (which, I'll add, I'm still quite impressed with). It IS water resistant, as evidenced by my frequent trips to work and back in heavy rain. I still highly recommend this bag. Email me at jakefranklin1989@gmail.com if you want pictures to get a better look at the condition of the pack. 02/26/2014 I've had this pack for nearly a month now and I'm still fairly satisfied with it. I'm a bike commuter and I wear this bag daily and use it to haul groceries and clothing, so I've certainly tested its weight limits and carrying capacity. One minor issue I've noticed is that the adjustable straps used to hitch the pack higher or lower are beginning to fray. Again, I do use this pack daily and it IS just a $30 backpack, so I suppose I can't complain. 90 day review forthcoming. This backpack is cavernous and comfortable. I'd feel comfortable putting a lot of weight in it if I had to. But regarding the hip straps: are they supposed to fit across the torso or down nearer the waist? I've read some reviews that lead me to believe the hip straps are sitting up too high for me and should instead go around my waist.

Awesome Pack!
This Everest hiking backpack was impressive. I am an amateur hiker from the plains of Iowa, who decided it would be fun to go backpacking in the Rocky Mountains with my cousin over the summer. My cousin and I both purchased these packs as they were a cheap price, and offered a great deal of space. Neither of us had any prior experience backpacking, and in my opinion the ideal user of this pack would be someone who is new to backpacking and does not want to spend a ton of money right off of the bat. This pack is also perfect for hikers and campers that need quite a bit of storage space and want to be able to move it easily. I would not take this pack on any month long extravaganza as there is no metal frame built in, but I believe it would be good for a week or less of moderate hiking. If you are going to hike for more than a week I would recommend spending a good deal of money on a pack with a frame that will help relieve stress on your shoulders and back. This will allow you to go longer, and also keep your equipment from becoming awkward. The durability of this pack was a life saver. Knowing nothing about how to backpack, my cousin and I, like most rookies, over-packed our bags. These packs each held around 65 pounds worth of equipment. After three solid days of strenuous hiking not one rip or tear could be found on them. They were extremely sturdy and well put together. The straps were not the most comfortable on my shoulders, but the balance of the pack was very easy. At times the equipment would get shifted around, and I would have to readjust, but I believe this would happen with any back pack. The Everest hiking pack contained multiple compartments, with one larger space that could easily fit a five gallon bucket. It also included some bungee material that could hold onto various equipment outside of the backpack. I do not believe these packs are rated as waterproof, however, while hiking it started pouring on us, and all of our gear and equipment inside of the backpack remained dry. I would highly recommend this product, and I would certainly purchase this pack again if the need were ever to arise. Although, with the strength of this pack I don’t believe I will need another one anytime soon. The price is most likely the cheapest you will find for such a high quality pack. The pack itself looks very sporty, and is provided in multiple colors. You will certainly get the most bang for your buck out of this backpack! -The Amateur from Ames

Great product
The media could not be loaded. I bought this in 2015 for $34. It's been my bug out bag ever since. It has gone through countless moves(new houses over the years) and 1 camping trip. It's done me well for these past 7-8 years. The zipper on the top (in the video) went probably 2 years ago. I think from grabbing it from the top countless times to move around in my house. Everything else is in good shape and fits alot of stuff. Only thing though that I noticed over the years, it doesn't do very well with keeping smells in. The first few years I stored some tea light candles in this and I had it in my laundry room and the smell just wouldn't stay away so I ended up having to move it into closets. Not smell proof and not water proof( does have a black liner inside though).
