Worked as hoped

Was worried I would get a product that looked different from the image but was exactly as I hoped. It's cheap, but a great replacement for an old broken storm door handle.

It fits doors from 3/4" to 1 1/4" thick

I was a bit hesitant to buy this assembly, because the advertisement states that it fits doors from 1" to 1 1/4" thick, and my door is slightly less than 1". Well, not only did it fit, but the instructions in the package state that it's made to fit doors from 3/4" to 1 1/4" thick! Instructions are easy to follow, and contain diagrams as well. As some others have said, the measurement given for cutting the long metal shaft is not accurate, but it just meant breaking off the shaft an additional notch (better than if it stated to cut it too short LOL). I ended up using my old handmade striker plate because it protrudes from the door frame more than the one in the kit, but that might just be my door setup. My only wish is that the swiveling striker portion was metal instead of heavy plastic. It might not be an issue, but with heavy winds, I'm hoping that the plastic piece will hold up and keep the door from whipping open. The rest of the assembly is metal, including the handle and push button. I just installed it, and overall I'm satisfied with the product, and it works like it should.

Warning: Unit may not fit an existing screen door

I got this unit to replace a broken several year old screen door latch. I was able to get this replacement latch installed/working, but not without issues along the way. The problem was that generic kits like this one may not have all their parts sized to what the existing screen door latch setup requires. In my specific case, two of the latch kit parts were incorrectly sized to what my specific screen door setup required (even though those parts would likely have work fine in a different screen door latch setup). As a result, I was not able to install this latch properly using just the parts that came in this kit. However, those two specific parts (incorrectly sized for my needs) were still working from my older (broken) latch setup, and they were compatible enough with this latch to be usable. As a result, I was able to get this new screen door latch installed (using mostly the new parts, but with a couple of parts recycled from the older latch). And the resulting latch now works correctly and appears to be more solidly built then the old/broken latch I removed from the door. Not bad for a replacement latch kit that cost under $9 to buy!

Product works but directions are incorrect.

I just finished installing this product to replace the handle that broke on my storm door. It seems to be a great replacement however there were a couple issues I wanted to let others know about when installing. 1) The screw holes in the handle parts have paint in them which can make it very difficult to get the screws in without stripping them. I recommend trying to clean out the holes before attempting to do so. I did this by just manually turning the screws before I started my install. Using an electric drill might result in stripping the screws so do so by hand. This will make it easier to install screws when you try to put on handle. 2) The instructions say you need to break the metal spindle to be the proper length based on the width of your door. The instructions are very clear on how to do so. I followed the directions and broke the spindle down to size using pliers. However when I tried to install the handle, I realized it would not work because the spindle was way too long. I remeasured and tried again. Still too long. Luckily I saved my old parts and compared the previous spindle. The old one was about 3/4 of an inch shorter. I used my old spindle and installed the new handle. It works perfectly. So I am not sure if the directions are wrong but the length it told me to use for the spindle was way off.

I had trouble finding a replacement door latch locally, looked on Amazon & found it right away. It was easy to install & actually fits better than the original one

Easy to install

Ordered this because the misogynistic oinker at my local hardware store so kindly told me I was not smart enough to measure my door and figure out which handle to buy and install and I should find a contractor.....This arrived in 2 days and even thought I'm just a woman I was able to install this in about 5 minutes flat. It looks great and is quite sturdy...I was shocked I was able to do it with out the necessary testicles but the instructions in the package made it simple enough even for those of us lacking the correct anatomy. Amazing!

Replaced broken one perfectly

This handle replaced my broken one with no issues. It included screws for various door thicknesses which was great. It also had clasp choices to ensure the door closed securely. The installation took under 30 minutes. The price was fair and very good quality. Fully recommended.

Basic, simple, works!

The latch on my older storm door at home broke. Before spending more money on a new door, I decided to try this item on and see if it works. Glad to see that it was a plug and play system. I took off the older broken pieces and replaced it with the new and done. Basic, simple...works!
