The sound is amazing.
This chime is high quality design, materials, and sound. Very soothing to sit on the deck and enjoy the “tunes”!

Beautiful Sounds
This was a gift for a friend and she put it up right away. I live down the hill from her and the sounds are so beautiful!

Lighweight design catches slightest breeze to make a beautiful musical sound!
This is the most beautiful sounding chime that I have ever heard. It is a very relaxing, soothing sound. This is by far the most functionally designed wind chime of any that I have ever purchased. It may not be the most attractive, but it is designed very well in order to catch the slightest breeze. I like the fact that it only has one wooden part (wood rots over time). The bottom piece that catches the wind is made from very lightweight metal & it is large enough to effectively catch the slightest breeze. It also has a slight vertical bend which makes the shape even more effective (kind of like a sail on a ship). The entire chime is lightweight which improves performance. I was originally a little disappointed when I first saw the chimes because they were rather plain, but after hearing them & realizing how well they are designed I no longer have any complaints. As I said, it does not have any fancy decorations, but I did purchase the chimes for their sound, not for their looks and these chimes have a wonderful musical sound. You also have to place chimes in an location that can catch the maximum breeze based on wind currents. Mine work best hanging from a corner house eave near my back patio. The wind swirls around the edge of my house on that corner & it catches the chimes with the slightest air movement. I actually have one chime hanging from the outside corner edge of the house eave and another hanging from a hook placed over the neck of the floodlight under the corner eave right next the other chime. They sound great together. The house eave also offers some protection from the rain. I originally hung them from a tree near my patio, but there was much less air movement in that location. Just remember when you hang chimes to pay attention to surrounding structures & air flow patterns to get the maximum movement from the chimes. I have ordered a larger size in this particular chime because I like the deeper tones better. This chime is not a large chime (about 2 feet total) but it has a nice musical tone (not tinny or harsh) for it's size. I will replace the outer medium chime with the larger size chime. I should beautiful with the two different sizes together. I will hang the other medium chime from the fireplace corner eave on the other side of the patio. I will have to test that location for wind currents. Hopefully the air currents will flow around the fireplace projection on the back of the house enough to ring that chime.

Beautiful but way too loud
These chimes are beautiful to look at, well-made, and sound lovely. The problem? They are too loud. We live on a windy ridge. Nearly all our neighbors have wind chimes; I know this because I can see them. However, all our neighbors probably know that we have a chime because it can be heard up and down the block. When walking on our street on even a mildly breezy day, I see other people's chimes moving, but I can hear ours -- and only ours -- from a hundred yards away. We have to take it down on any day with more than the most gentle of breezes because it keeps us awake at night and I fear it is annoying the neighbors. Disappointing.

Sounds Great and Will Last
Unlike most of Woodstock Chimes products, this one is all metal, so no wood to eventually rot as always happens with the wooden ones. It looks good hanging from the tree in my entry way and will continue to look and sound good for a long time come

Very small light weight chime for $50
Compared to QMT Corinthian bells chimes (made in USA) in a comparable price range, this Woodstock chime (made in China) just doesn't cut it. The quality of this chime does not merit a $50 price tag. The tubes are very thin and not very long. I thought these might be higher quality because they have one string per chime, down the inside of each chime tube. Nope. The string is heavier than the string Woodstock uses on their spider web strung chimes, but it is not what I would consider substantial. The single string looks better than the messy spider web string job on Woodstock's other lower end chimes. I purchased this wind chime from the warehouse at a discount. For the lower warehouse price, I thought this might be a nice addition to my chime collection. Unfortunately, I am returning it. I own other much larger Woodstock chimes, with single strings down the center of the chime tubes. They are all very nice. As a rule, I steer clear of the lower cost, lighter weight Woodstock chimes. That single string down the center of the chime tubes on this chime faked me out. For comparison, this Woodstock chime is 32" long and weighs 1.5 lbs. The QMT Vienna Bells 36" chimes weigh 4.4 lbs and sound like heaven. The two boxes from those chimes are pictured together. (The QMT Corinthian Bells 36" chimes would come in the same size box as the QMT 36" Vienna Bells.) Both chime sets fill their boxes. Who would think a 4" difference in overall length would make that much of a difference in box/chime size? It has everything to do with the length of the chime rods and their diameter. Clearly, this 32" chime is MUCH MUCH smaller and a fraction of the size of a 36" QMT chime. It is also a fraction of the quality of the QMT chimes. The length of chime sets is measured from the very top of the chime to the bottom of the sail. Adding an extra few inches to the string holding the sail and advertising it as a longer length chime will make the chime set appear like it is bigger than the actual size of the chime tubes themselves merit. That is the case with this chime set. It is misleading. Buyer beware! To get a more accurate side by side comparison of chime sets, find out the length of the chime tubes, the diameter of the tubes and the total weight of the chimes. Also, count the number of tubes. This is a six tube chime as are the QMT chimes I compared this to. Finally, compare the sound on the chime companies respective websites. If the company website does not offer sound bytes or specific chime tube tuning info, you may want to look elsewhere for a chime company offering tuned chimes. QMT aluminum for their chimes is USA sourced. Woodstock chimes probably use foriegn aluminum as they are made in China. Just a tid bit to know if you look for products that support American jobs. A QMT chime set with a shorter listed length and a comparable or heavier weight will be a better buy for your money. The QMT 27" Corinthian Bells chimes weigh more than this set and would be more comparable in size to this Woodstock 32" chime. The QMT chimes offer many color choices and have a nicer finish on the tubes. The Woodstock chime company is always responsive to inquiries about their chimes. All their chimes have audio clips posted on their website so you can listen before you buy. Being made in China is not necessarily a deal breaker for me. But, the quality of the chime tubes, the finish on the tubes, the quality of the strings holding them together and of course, the sound is important. A quality chime set can last for decades with care. The first point of failure is usually the strings, then the wooden components, if there is any wood. The quality of the strings and the ability to restring them when the string gives out is important. Choosing a chime set with great quality strings will add YEARS of hassle free use. Chimes are a wonderful addition to the ambience of a home. Quality matters. Amazon sells the chimes I compared this set to. If in doubt, buy both and do your own comparison.

Beautiful sound but not convinced quality is great.
I have wanted to own some Woodstock chimes for a very long time, and finally treated myself to the large size, Bells of Paradise chimes in rainforest green. I was charged by the post for an oversized package, but when I opened the Amazon box, a much smaller box lay inside (not oversized!). The chimes were well wrapped and in perfect condition, but like many others before me, I spend the first couple of minutes fishing through the box and tissue paper looking for the O-ring that was missing from the strings. Once I realised that there wasn’t one, I tutted a little (I mean seriously?) and then retrieved one from an old set of keys. Below the loose ends was a knot, which I picked open a little to loosen it and I pushed the knot up towards the top of the loose ends. I then inserted my O-ring in between the strings and hey presto! It’s now hanging on the curtain rail above my french doors as I can’t bring myself to put them outside. As much as the finish is disappointing for the money paid, I still think the tuning and depth of sound is so worth the inconvenience and the price. The rainforest green (the only colour option in the chimes I wanted) is actually almost black, which I love and the ‘feather’ is solid and well made but the strings seem less so. Oh but the sound and the way they resonate is both soothing and healing.

Absolutely beaitiful
Purchased this in memory of our beloved dog who passed away. Beautifully constructed and you can see the workmanship that has gone into it. The sound is just to lovely and gentle and it was great that you could visit Woodstock on line and hear the different chimes. I would never hesitate to purchase Woodstock again.

Sublime!
Such calming melodious sounds! Sublime! I like the single vertical support string for each tube - meaning virtually no frictional wear and tear on the strings, no matter how much lateral movement. Very minor downside: the birds take a little while before they become accustomed to the sounds - so close to their feeding stations. ;-) Update: These chimes still sound blissful, but I need to say that the quality of the surface covering of the tubes have been gradually 'bonked off', leaving a sad grey patch (when new it was like the remaining tube outer surface, a fine deep copper colour) where struck. Clearly they haven't been quality tested. I repeat, it still sounds wonderful! So maybe 4 stars more appropriate.

Music to the ears!
Bigger than imagined but not at all disappointed. They produce a very therapeutic, deeper sound, than some. I wanted chimes not highly pitched and these are just perfect as I dislike 'tinny' windchimes. Sound beautiful in a gentle breeze and I would certainly invest in woodstock chimes again. I hope to collect more and I would also purchase as a gift. I chose mine after listening to them on YOUTUBE........ A great way to hear what they sound like before buying!

Wonderful sound I only ever buy Woodstock!!
Lovely tone to these and this one plays a pleasant 'jingle'. It's not the most stylish I've ever bought, but we buy them first and foremost for the sound they make, not the looks.
