Great way to crisp in microwave

WORTH EVERY PENNY! A+
We just purchased a Maytag Dual Crisp microwave and needed this pan (and the LG 5026W1A082B rack) to use the Dual Crisp feature. This pan sits atop the rack bringing food closer to the Dual Crisp heating element (inside the top of the microwave). The pan is magnificent quality! Very sturdy and solid. The non-stick coating enables food to slide right off the pan. Nothing sticks to the pan, not even sizzling chese! The silicone bottom protects our granite counter tops and won't scratch our farmhouse sink. It's generous size means you can reheat more than one food at the same time. As per the instructions, you must: A). Wash the pan before the first use to avoid any unpleasant odors upon first use. B). Heat the pan in the microwave at full power for 3 minutes BEFORE adding your food to the pan. If you skip this step the likely result will be "cold food" that did not reheat sucessfully (as noted in other reviews). C). Although the pan is marked "dishwasher safe", hand washing is strongly recommended. It wipes clean so easily that it is pointless to risk harm to the finish by placing it in the dishwasher. I'm not impressed with the handle that comes with the pan. It does grab the pan but it was not engineered to closely fit the contour of the pan, thus the pan wobbles when using the handle which can be dangerous when handling hot food (especially if your microwave is over the stove and you're short like me). I disliked the handle so much that I threw it away and now I use silicone pot holders to handle the hot pan. Excellent quality pan. Worth Every Penny and I would definitely recommend it to others! A+

So so results
This pan is moderately successful in crisping food in a MW. It removes the slimy surface often found on MW'ed food, but it also toughens the food. My main complaint is the odor the pan gives off during cooking. I believe it is coming from the synthetic gasket found just under the upper pan lip. OK I have now used this pan for a while and can up my recommendation to a four star. The smell is now gone and once I determined the amount of time needed for cooking the food is much better. I can take out a batch of frozen chicken wings and in 15 to 20 minutes have properly prepared snacks for all. Cleanup is a snap as the surface is anti stick and quickly rinses off. Can't imagine not having after using it for an extended period.

I LOVE this pan
I LOVE this pan! It works exactly as advertised. I've been using it daily now for a couple of weeks and I couldn't be happier. Be sure to read the directions. You have to spray it with cooking oil and heat it for 3 minutes before putting your food on it, and it is initially a little smelly, but once you get past the first couple of uses it is great and foods are definitely crispy. I've cooked burgers and chicken and fish on it so far. UPDATE: I've had this pan for about 9 months now and I am still thrilled with it. Nothing sticks to the surface. They tell you not to clean it with anything abrasive, but I don't need to. It washes clean very easily with soap and water and a few swishes of a dish cloth. The rubber backing (or whatever it is made of) initially had me a little worried because I thought it might come loose after multiple uses, but it is still firmly attached. It browns foods nicely; however, they don't come out as crispy as if they were baked or fried. UPDATE: I bought this pan over 3.5 years ago. I use it almost daily. I am contemplating getting another one, not because there's anything wrong with this one, but because I'd like to have one at work for fixing my lunch. I can say it again. I LOVE this pan!

The Whirlpool Microwave Crisper Pan is the best item I have purchased for my kitchen in a very long time. Negative comments that the pan smells the first few times used is completely avoided by washing the pan well in hot soapy water before the first use per the instructions. It is essential that the pan be lightly oiled and PREHEATED 3 full minutes in the microwave before adding the food, per instructions, otherwise the food will not crisp or cook well. (Preheating my oven takes much longer than 3 minutes, so this is another great plus.) Pan is excellent quality and the handle is great. Pan must be completely cooled before putting in water. I leave the pan in the microwave to cool off, often just leaving it in microwave until the next morning before washing. Nothing sticks to the pan--just take care and do not scratch using metal tools. Takes less than 30 seconds to wash in hot soapy water, dry and put away. Follow the instructions! I Love this Crisper Pan--it's just the best.

Even better than the original that came with my Whirlpool Crisp and Grill
I bought two of these crisper pans to replace the original that came with my Whirlpool microwave as within 12mths it was peeling. This version is a tiny bit smaller than the other one (by about 1cm) but the coating and construction looks like it will endure longer (to ensure it does, I am using parchment paper on it when I cook). The serving handle works better than with the one that came with my microwave as there is a rubber ring for it to grip to, and the feet are higher than the original one too which means it sits higher when I put it down so less risk of scorching the bench. I use my Whirlpool Crisp and Grill microwave for almost every meal and I rarely use the traditional oven or cook top now. You can cook almost anything on these trays in the Crisp and Grill: fried eggs and bacon, crisp french toast, bread, making biscuits/cookies, reheating pastry items..everything comes out crisp and golden on the Crisper Pan.

Perfect for bacon!
We use this product every time we make bacon. It takes about 10 min in the microwave on this plate to cook 5 pieces perfectly. They don't get too crispy and they aren't undercooked...cooks evenly.

Each time we try to use this the result gets better. Be prepared to experiment with the times in the beginning to get the crispness you want. We did and it gets better each time.

Crisps food to perfection
I am so glad I found this incredible pan. It makes my life easy. 8 years ago we got new appliances and the main reason I went with the Kitchen Aid microwave with the Crisper feature is because of the free crisper pan it came with. I could make crisp pizza crust as opposed to soggy in the microwave. Well, 8 years later my pan was used beyond usage and needed replacing. Kitchen aid no longer had the same pan however this pan is identical to it. It's perfect. I make grilled vegetables, salmon, chicken fingers, any frozen appetizers, burgers, veggie patties,bacon, eggs etc... Everything comes out cooked and crisp. I only use the Crisp feature on my microwave so I cannot comment on using this pan on the regular setting. The crisp feature has a grilling element inside the top part of the microwave which is why I picked this model. I highly recommend this product

Heats and crisps foods perfectly
Works as great as any crisper but I added a microwave safe lid for better function to prevent over microwaving and more browning/crisping. I already have the Reheatza but it does not reach a hot enough temp (even after preheating for 3-4 mins) to really fry or brown well. So I use the lid on this crisper pan and works a lot better than the Reheatza. Can do sunnyside up eggs with the lid quicker than with the Reheatza.
